I’ve had the pleasure of eating at Good Food a few times, but my visit today has compelled me to leave a rave review,(as follows below). I find myself consistently leaving Good Food with a good taste in my mouth(pun intended). The ambiance is charming and rustic, simple in design and décor; the atmosphere and location of this small crêperie reflects in its cuisine, in the most honest and refined way. They carry an array of daily specials, which are all generally delicious and fresh(a word you’ll hear me utter multiple times in this review). They truly cater to a variety of taste buds. I’ve tried a fair amount of items on the menu, as well as their specials. I strongly recommend their seafood dishes, specifically any of their salmon plates;(salmon salad and crêpes included). Honestly, you can’t go wrong ordering any of their crêpes, savory or sweet. You can customize them, or order their signature menu ones,(I’m a sucker for their banana & nutella crêpe, since I have an enormous sweet tooth; which Good Food certainly quells). That being said, these are some of the best and freshest I’ve eaten outside of Manhattan and Québec. AND they’re reasonably priced; ESPECIALLY by Briarcliff’s typical restaurant standard, since everything here tends to be exorbitantly priced. Crêpes and other dishes aside, their tea and coffee are freshly brewed and compliment the cuisine nicely, definitely a bonus when you want to fully embrace their cozy brunch environment(much like I do). Another strong reason why I love eating at Good Food is due to the fact that their kitchen is positioned in a visible format and is adjacent to the dining area, meaning you can see John,(the executive chef) [hastily] preparing all of the food. Which is always a plus, because, like many others, I prefer to have an idea of what I’m eating and how it’s prepared within a restaurant kitchen. On top of that, I really appreciate the genuine concept behind this restaurant. They just cook whatever they feel like making, depending on the day. True whimsicality and liberality, complimented by modern culinary finesse, which in turn translates into exciting, clean, and fresh new eats, each time you visit. Good Food’s rusticity and modern culinary approach gives them a definite leg up over neighboring competitors. I truly believe they have the trappings to survive(and succeed) in a continuously challenging economic climate(for all businesses alike). I wholeheartedly wish the best for this business! Again, I highly recommend coming in, savoring the food, and chatting with John, who is very friendly and quite visibly takes great pride in the food he creates(and for a very justifiable reason; it’s fantastic!). Happy eating! :-)

First of all, I never write Unilocal reviews. After eating at Good Food I couldn’t resist. My girlfriend and I have been meaning to try Good Food for a long time. We have only heard good things, so one brisk Saturday in December we decided to go for lunch. We arrived with pretty high expectations. After our meal, it was clear that Chef John and everyone at Good Food completely exceeded those expectations. We arrived at the restaurant and were immediately greeted by Chef John. He made it a point to welcome us and make us feel right at home even though he was clearly busy preparing meals. This is important to my girlfriend and I because a big pet peeve for us is when we walk into a restaurant and stand there feeling like fools waiting for someone to attend to us. So, we were seated at a table and were given the menu. They have a regular menu and a menu with specials for the day. We started out by sharing two appetizers: tomato asparagus soup and the salad special of the day. The soup was incredibly fresh — it tasted like the tomatoes were picked and sliced 5 minutes before we ordered the soup. It was the perfect dish to warm us up on a cold day. The salad was equally as fresh and flavorful. Pro tip: YOUHAVETOTRYTHESOYGINGERSALADDRESSING. My girlfriend and I were almost in shock at how much we could enjoy a single condiment. It is worth going just to try that dressing. Then came the entrees. I ordered a special that day: grilled flank steak, roasted veggies and mashed potatoes. My girlfriend, a huge fan of crepes, ordered a sweet crêpe with Nutella and fresh fruit. My steak was cooked perfectly and the veggies were full of flavor. My girlfriend said her crêpe was one of the best she has ever had. The best part about the food is, to quote my girlfriend, the«homemade taste.» In fact, the entire experience included little nuances and aesthetics that makes you feel like are at home and getting a home cooked meal. Chef John clearly puts a lot of work and thought into his food. Quick side note: another pet peeve for my girlfriend is having unreliable service. This was not the case at Good Food — she wouldn’t stop raving about how great our waitress was. She was super attentive, reliable and thoughtful. What I like about this restaurant is that there is something for everyone. If you are a vegetarian or prefer gluten-free food or if you’re a meat and potatoes guy like me, you will find something to enjoy. My girlfriend and I will definitely be returning. If you are in Westchester, or heck, the NYC region, you should definitely stop in. You won’t regret it.

Any café that serves gourmet roasted coffee in a French press is doing it right. Delicious crepes. Friendly atmosphere.

We have lived in the area for two years and never went in. After tonight I am not sure why I never walked in before. We had so much fun here and the food is fantastic. As I was eating my chicken soup with pesto and then a version of a thanksgiving crêpe, I kept saying this is so good. And my husband had lemon cod and said it was fantastic. We ordered the works for dessert with added Nutella and it was honestly heavenly. We left our plates empty. It’s actually very cute inside not just on the outside. I felt very comfortable and the place was very clean. Our waitress was so sweet and the owner was so nice too. Both were not overbearing but attentive. Food did not take long at all. I feel like the owner genuinely loves to cook, it’s not just a business for him but it makes him happy. It comes out in the food for sure. Good Food should change its name to delicious food.

Thanks Unilocalers for the heads up on this one. My daughter and I really loved the crepes. I had a savory crêpe with caramelized onions, olives, capers and goat cheese(plus something else I can’t remember). Very well made and fresh tasting. My daughter had a Nutella and strawberry crêpe. She thoroughly enjoyed it. Mine came with a side of cous cous, which was also delicious. I would like to go back to try something that wasn’t a crêpe. Everything looked good.

This place is a hidden gem. From the crepes to daily entrée specials, everything is made from scratch using totally fresh ingredients. Eating here is like going home(where a 5 star chef happens to be cooking for you) and it’s all good. This is not a romantic dressy dinner place. The kitchen is behind a counter where the owner cooks and the tables and chairs are an eclectic mix of outdoor patio furniture with mismatched chairs, but this adds to its charm. Shorts and flip flops work We found it by accident as recently moved into the area and are living through a renovation of our home. My wife and I stumbled upon it late one week night as they were getting ready to close. Needless to say John, the owner, warmly invited us to stay and asked what we would like. There was one other couple in the place and they were sharing a bottle of wine. This is when we learned it was BYOB. The couple insisted on sharing their wine with us(as another couple had done with them on their previous visit). Seeing it was late we spilt and appetizers and a salad and everything was great. Since then, we have been back several times whether it was to sit there or take out. From steak to fish to soup, NOTHING has ever been less than excellent… Might be the best kept secret in Westchester…

I read so many great reviews on Unilocal,so I decided to try it out. The food is incredibly delicious, everything home made. The bread is baked in house and its to die for. The soups are also amazing, and so many different varieties. I’ve known John(the owner) for a while now, and he is nothing short of spectacular. He is so friendly, and really gives the place a great vibe. He uses a lot of organic produce, and also supports local farms. This place is a gem!

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. I come here somewhat frequently with my two small children for a quick bite to eat. We love the crepes — buckwheat makes them stand out. Don’t miss the specials on the sandwich board in front; they are always delicious. Tacos, tortellini, pork quesadillas — I think they can make anything. Get here before noon to get a table.

Fabulous! Had the ribs, salmon, and pan roasted flounder – everyone in our group loved the quality of the food. Satisfying portions that were very well prepared. It is simply in the title of this little gem– you want good food, this is it. Look forward to returning again and again.

Hidden gem in Briarcliff! I found this place on Unilocal and it is truly deserving of five stars. The food is good quality and whole. There are a lot of healthy options. I had the tomato soup with pesto and the lentil salad– both of which did not disappoint! The coffee also came in a French press and was wonderful. The service was great as well– both the owner and waitress were warm and approachable. They also did not smother us in the slightest which I very much appreciated– I enjoy relaxing and savoring my food without feeling rushed. There is outdoor seating and I also found out it is BYOB! Needless to say I will definitely be back.

Nice little spot. Very little to be honest lol. I was the only one here at the time but it echoed a lot so I felt like it sounded busy haha! I loved that when you order coffee they give you a whole pot of French press with a cute setup with the cream and sugar. I ordered the strawberry, banana, Nutella crêpe and it took no time at all to come out and was a very good size and good flavor. Nice quick place to stop in.

It has it all; food, service and atmosphere. My family has frequented Good Food for over one year and enjoy everything from the outstanding coffee /crepes/ice creams to the homemade soups and my favorite, the fish tacos. Beyond the food is John, the talented chef/owner who infuses his love of great music and chatty personality to create a local hang that has enriched our community. Other options: Lunch delivery and in-house dinner parties. Its BYOB and seats @ 20. Thank you John.

I went for lunch with a friend on 02/27/2015. He ordered salmon with rice, broccoli. I had the gnocchi with Chicken Sausage and a side of brussels sprouts. Water was served in a chilled glass bottle. I believe it was unfiltered but not very chlorinated therefore probably not just Westchester County tap. My friend indicated that the salmon was excellent. I noticed that his broccoli was dark green and had no yellow/light spots as in some low grade kitchens. My Gnocchi was a little too soft, the chicken sausage was very hot(temp.) The plate looked nice although it was very ‘liquid y’ — like a gnocchi soup with a full piece of sausage. The broccoli was sliced small and came with string beans(crisp) and sauteed onions(small portion). For dessert we both had the Dulce DeLeche Crepes with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The ice cream was folded inside the crepes. The Dulce DeLeche was on top of the ice cream and not spread evenly and chilled to quickly. The entire plate was sprinkled with powdered sugar. Overall it was«Good food» ! Next time I will try something with stronger flavor: Pork chop, Salmon or the Black Forest Ham sandwich. The ambience: Bright with a window store front. The layout reminds of a small pizzeria, very clean, the menu on chalk board on the wall or a double sided letter pape. The waitress shows daily specials on an iPhone(larger screen I would preferred). She also takes payment via square credit card reader on phone. It was a little cold in there(heater was on the window accross from me) and the music was a bit too loud to have a conversation. The owner and chef came to the table and also asked at checkout about the experience mentioning that for dinner he accepts customers bringing their own wine.

I moved here a few months ago, and was very fortunate to stumble upon this unassuming gem very early on. The standard menu is excellent, with a wide variety of choices of sandwiches, sweet and savory crêpes, and entrees. But the real fun lies in the daily specials, which are essentially FULL menus of additional meal options! Every single thing I’ve tried so far has been great, and the always affable chef/owner John is a real talent and a good guy.

I’m always on the road for work, and I am in constant search of WiFi, good coffee and hopefully healthy food. This place has all three of these things, and an excellent staff. The guy who runs this place is great and obviously cares deeply for his craft.

The regular menu is great, but the specials are to die for. Owner/cook John can cook anything and make it fantastic, and all the while keeping the mood of the place lively. I’ve tried and would recommend anything on the menu, but I personally get the taco of the day. Somehow I’m amazed by the taste every time I bite into my first taco, that’s a good thing. If you’re looking for good food in the town of Briarcliff Manor, look no further than this cozy delicious(and healthy) spot.

Great little place. You can get gluten free, vegetarian or vegan choices. and everything else if you not into it ;) Owner is making great food and have a great personality. Only few tables. Food is really good. My only suggestion would be to make the exhaust/ventilation more efficient.
