When we came to this place for dinner it was dim and not that many people there. It stayed open until 11 pm but they closed at 10:40 pm due to not having that many customers. The pictures on TV screen looks amazing but when it came out it taste bland and not that flavorful. We order the Godzilla roll, sukiyaki, tempura udon. The service was great and they were really nice, I thought there was more service then customer. I would come back for dessert or because they open late.

Fresh quality for the price, quiet, quick and attentive service. Extensive menu and they cater to those who prefer cooked sushi rolls.

Awful. This place is the worst in the area. Bad food and worse service. Told the waitress that the fish in their roll tasted off and she took the dish away and then charged me for it.

I’ve eaten here several times over the past year, and found it very tasty. I went today for lunch with friends, and had the worst service. I asked for sugar for my hot tea. When I asked again, after waiting five mins, the waiter barked at me, «Yes, I know». Then later, he gave a disgusted look when we asked for more tea. Finally, he abruptly told us the restaurant was closed. Will never go back.

Dirty. If I had to choose one word, that would be it. The service is horrible as well. They are rude. The food tastes decent but after seeing the cleanliness of their kitchen and bathroom area — it is NOT worth the risk.

Sushi here is strictly average. Its local and accessible. Service is rough if you have a question. Substitutions for dietary requirements are near impossible to communicate. My last choice for local sushi.

Ignore the hole-in-the-wall looks, reasonable prices, and sundae-shop punch card, this is the freshest sushi money can buy. I’m very paranoid about raw fish, but this is one of the rare places I trust.

7.14.2014 Update: Ordered beef udon and the yellowtail roll for delivery. This go-round I let the voice on the other end of the phone know that the chicken had been waaaay over-cooked last time. So the beef udon was *much* better than my last experience. But the showstopper was the humble yellowtail. It was light; it was more like a confection that melted in your mouth than the usual. Really artistic work, kudos to the chef. :-) I’m limiting this review to take-out and delivery. The folks here are super-sweet, the food is ready when promised and delivery prompt. Another reviewer hit the nail on the head when she had suggested one stick to the sushi/sashimi/raw fish selections. The sushi is tasty, fresh, average-priced for the area. On the other hand, anything cooked can be hit or miss. I think the first time I had ordered tempura udon noodles which was great. Next order, I tried the chicken udon noodles — most of which had to be trashed because«rubbery» doesn’t even begin to describe the mutant condition of the chicken in the mix(shudder). So, stick to the fish and I would suggest eating in so if there is a problem with your dining companion’s cooked meal, it can be easily remedied or exchanged.

This review is strictly on how I was treated, I haven’t even eaten my food yet but already know for sure I won’t go back there. As I walk in the door the man behind the counter yells across the restaurant«Picking up???“I wasn’t about to yell back as there were 3 tables dining in so I awkwardly walk to him and tell him I would like to place a to go order but need to look at a menu, he grunted at me and practically pushed me over to bring a plate to a table. I order a few sushi rolls and he didn’t understand my order when he read it back but I already had enough of his attitude and settled on being short two rolls. I pay and sit down and less than 10 minutes later the sushi chef places a to go bag on the counter. I watch the guy who took my order belittle an elderly man trying to order something he can’t find on the menu then he walks back and fourth not really doing anything. 15 minutes later«oh your order is ready» «oh gee thanks» I don’t care how good the food is. Customer service is everything. Jiki is right down the road and they will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. When you place a walk– in take out order they give you complimentary tea and a dessert while you wait. I’ll stick with them.

I initially felt bad writing this review. But as I lay here in bed, half a day of work missed and a $ 50 co-pay to urgent care… I don’t care so much. I came here and ate one roll and a miso soup. I have ordered from here before and everything has been fine. This morning I pushed my self into work after visiting the bathroom one too many times. Before lunch, I almost vomited all over my office, I mean I had nothing left in me! Dry heaves are the worse. Get picked up bc there’s no way I’m getting behind the wheel. Doctor gives me a shot to calm the nausea and a script for saltines and vitamin water. I will never return. Came nov 42013

I have been to Yama Fuji a handful of times since my last review, and have to say the food and service have consistently been excellent. When I get that sushi craving, this is where I want to be.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm tuna so i was recommend to this place from a local, glad i was, you would know it from the outside, typical strip mall, whats this doing here kinda stuff, but to be honest, ive seen lots of awesome things happen in a strip mall. pros: the fish of course! i was the only one here at 2pm on a tuesday, odd? yes, but there were a few people for pick up. also, they hasd a Unilocal folder there for their paperwork, good sign guys. cons: i ate my sushi too fast and now its all gone! boooooo oh, the bathroom is through the kitchen, that cant be good, but at least they have one. pricey too, but thats the fish world for you. enjoi

My first time experience here was great. I got the shrimp and avocado roll as well as the rainbow roll. It was a take out order, but it was ready to go once I got there. It was a completely spacious and cozy restaurant which was also a pleasant surprise. Quick and the rolls were AMAZING. Better than a few other sushi places I have tried. I highly recommend this place.

I love this place! I order take-out on my way home about once a week. While I stick with my standard order most of the time, the specials menu is great. Everything is fresh and the prices are really reasonable.

I usually hit up Okinawa which is not far from where I work but recently we were mailed a menu from this joint and my hangover was instructing me to GOHERE! So I ordered some take out of spicy tuna tataki(comes w guac, wow I am in love), kani salad and Godzilla and Ossining roll. Remember, I was hungover– thus the amount of food which lasted me thru lunch and dinner. Spicy tuna tataki came in a weird, tuna-can shape and not like a sliced tuna steak which I’m used to. Well it was delicious either way. Also w a heap of guac and a few fried tortilla/pita chips so it was a solid Hell Yes in my stomach. Kani salad wasn’t spicy but it was decent; more cucumber than crab meat but at least I know next time to skip it. Ossining roll is like a cali roll on the inside but with tobiko flakes and tuna/salmon/yellowtail on top, light and perfect combo. The Godzilla roll has spicy mayo/lobster sauce w crab meat and spicy tuna and was very dense and thick. Tasty too! They both came as 8 pieces too so I was able to eat the other half for dinner. Overall, I will def-o be hitting this place up to try some new roll combos since I’m already schooled in most of the okinawa ones. Delivery took about 40 mins which is average, no complaints. Accepts cards over the phone too

When you go for sushi, you don’t go to interview the wait staff on the arcane minutaie of ingredients and food prep, especially since the chefs prepare the food right before your eyes. We have been here probably half a dozen tmes and ordered takeout a number of times as well. The food is prepared quickly, the staff is efficient(People who berate the staff for not being friendly are the types who walk in during a busy lunch and want the poor person to stop everything and make them the center of the universe), and we had our soup and meal brought to us quickly. The dishes were sashimi and sushi deluxe. They were well prepared and delicious. We also appreciated the presentation– they try to make every dish appealing to the eye. We were done so fast we had time to catch an earlier movie. Not bad at all.

Wow. Talk about poor skills in the keeping the butts in the seats department. With well more than half an hour to go before the kitchen closed for siesta we went into Yama ISO quick lunch. The waitress who said she was new knew close to nothing about the ingredient details of a simple dish, like Soba Noodles and then when I asked how they were prepared looked annoyed, turned around huffing and shouting across the restaurant and coming back with no new info(«Special Sauce”-er, no thanks). Like she could not have cared less nor did she need our business apparently. Glad Yama is doing so well. So with that, her lack of professionalism, obnoxious ungracious attitude and their seeming desire to have plenty of other customers, though the place was empty, we left never to return again. I can forgive on off day of food but never intentionally poor«service.»

As far as sushi restaurants go, this place was just alright. We did take-out from it, so I can’t say anything about service or the quality of the meal experience. Our food was ready when we got there, which is always nice. We had soup and sushi. My miso was pretty tasty, but not anything spectacular. I had the california eel roll, the sweet potato roll, and split the spicy tuna with my friend. I loved the eel roll — california+eel= amazing collaboration, so applause go to Yama Fuji for coming up with that one. The sweet potato roll was okay. It wasn’t too bready, and it’s a mild roll anyway so I wasn’t expecting much. The spicy tuna was pretty bad, though. It wasn’t spicy whatsoever, and there seemed to be more non-spicy sauce in it than tuna. Definitely would not order that again. The price of this place coupled with the rave reviews its received had us looking forward to an amazing meal, but I found my expectations falling short of reality. There are certainly sushi places in the area that are cheaper and have better food. Maybe we’d have had a better experience if we ate at the restaurant, but I probably won’t be going back anyway. ALSO our GPS couldn’t find it! Maybe their address isn’t accurate? We spent a good amount of time looking for this place, which was really annoying and serves as another reason I’d avoid it in the future.

Yesterday in full Unilocal mode I used my Unilocal app to find a good sushi place. The closest to me was Yama Fuji Sushi. My friend and i excitedly went through the menu to find what we wanted. The first thing we noticed were the prices — not as low as I would have expected(especially for what we got) We ordered our food to pick up, and it was ready pretty quickly. My order consisted of Clear soup, California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Spider Roll. The sum up of my dinner was this. Clear Soup– I have had much better, but it was ok. California Roll– It was merely ok. Spicy Tuna– Horrible, i didn’t even finish them because they were so bad. Spider Roll– Not terrible, but once again just ok. My conclusion? Don’t waste your money on merely average sushi.
