China Express II

I’ve been coming to this place for years. All you need to know is that’s it’s really good high quality Chinese Food. It’s clean, the people are friendly and ordering is easy. There is nothing on the menu here that I haven’t liked. It’s across the street from the church of the visitation and right next to Yellow Brick Road ice cream. It’s closed on Mondays so plan your Chinese food fix accordingly.

I just ordered for the first time and the food was excellent. We needed to find a better place to order from since the place we always ordered from started to become boring and tasteless. New cook I don’t know We will definitely order again and again. Prices worth the quality and portions of food. Delicious!!!

This place was recommended to me by a coworker. I am glad I asked. I am pretty picky about my Chinese food. Most of them have chewy little pieces of chicken.
I ordered the general tso’s lunch special. They ask if you want white meat or dark meat. I have never had the option. When I picked it up the place looked very clean and didn’t stink like most places. The chicken was so good! They were large pieces and great quality. The sauce was so flavorful. Even my egg roll tasted better than other Chinese.
They make their own duck sauce and crispy noodles which were outta this world. They should sell that sauce by the gallon.
I also ordered the chicken rice soup. That was ok. I should’ve tried the egg drop. Prices were great since the food they make is more high end.

Good solid Chinese food place. Prices are ok. Restaurant is very clean but parking lot is a bit tough.

Fantastic for Chinese take-​out! We probably order from here twice a month. The fried rice is tasty and never greasy, and the same goes for the egg rolls. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the sesame chicken. Customer service on the phone and in person has always been swift and efficient.

I’m very picky when it comes to Chinese food. The food is really good and they give you a lot. A little on the pricey side but the portions are huge. One of my go to Chinese takeouts.

Best Chinese in brick that delivers. Guys that work there are nice, you can tell they work hard. I like the fact that there is a wide opening to the back so you can watch the guys cooking and see the kitchen, which is clean. Not the best place to dine in as the front area is small and only a few small tables. I dont think they have air conditioning either for the summer time as Ive walked in and it was pretty hot in there. Best general tso’s, and the pork fried rice is just right. Egg rolls never dry and made fresh everyday.

Quality choice for Chinese food in Brick. The specials are typically very good, if not a bit pricey. Had been disappointed by the lack of chicken in the General Tso’s in the past but I don’t eat fried foods anymore. Probably the second best Chinese restaurant in the area.
Edit: The most recent order I had consisted of a wonton soup which had the most overcooked wontons I’ve ever tasted… The soup was frankly awful last time. Egg rolls are nonetheless very good, and the entrée itself utilized fairly high quality meats and fish although I feel much of the special menu is a few dollars overpriced. The lobster included in some of the specials is probably one of the better quality from a Chinese restaurant of this caliber. The young chow rice was also well-​made and had plenty of chicken, pork, shrimp, and eggs. I feel like they’re priced as a higher-​end restaurant than they are despite the cleanliness and generally quality food.

I called tonight to order take out. TAKE OUT! How hard is it to have someone take orders via the phone? I got through 5 times. That’s right, five times I got through and before you can say a word they say please hold and set the phone down. You can hear what else is going on, like the young girl telling another customer that I was upset for being put on hold 4 times (I was able to say a couple of words on the last attempt). Then after about 5 minutes of waiting (I found it interesting to see how long it took for them to realize an order was waiting to be taken from the phone sitting on the counter) each time they picked up the phone and hung it up. Don’t waste your time. There are better places in the area and the food here isn’t much better than the service.

Having recently moved into this area, I needed to find a Chinese place that was both close by and decent. China Express fits both these requirements, and I’ve placed more than a few orders for food here in the past weeks.
The good: This place is exceptionally clean. Normally, Chinese restaurants tend to be laden with greased-​up walls and char marks on the kitchen, but here you’re treated to a huge open-​view kitchen with stainless appliances and freshly mopped floors. The food is pretty decent as well, and is probably one of the better places in the 8 723 side of Brick. As others have mentioned, the dumplings are fantastic; they come with a side of homemade dipping sauce and are cooked absolutely perfectly. In addition, the Egg Foo Young was excellent as well, and also came with a side of a very obviously homemade brown sauce with veggies in it.
The ‘meh’: Price is kind of steep for food here. Lunch specials are over $ 6.25 (most places in the area are 5 to 5.50), and the dinner combo platters are generally over $ 12, even for simpler things like the aforementioned Egg Foo Young. On the flipside, the portions are huge for the combos, easily spanning 2 or even 3 meal’s worth, so at least you get a lot for your money. Still, I’d prefer paying less and not having to eat the same thing 2 – 3 days out of the week. Call ahead if you plan on coming here, too — it takes a good amount of time for some dishes to be prepared (duck apparently takes ~35 mins?).
All in all, a pretty good choice locally for takeout.

Anyone giving this restaurant more than 3 stars has no idea what good Chinese food is. For Ocean County it’s ok not great, adequate only.

The is good, but never order delivery. So far 5 out of 6 times they forgot part of the order. When we call back. We are told come in and pick it up. If I wanted to pick up I wouldn’t call for delivery. The staff is very nice when you first order, but when they are told on call back about forgotten parts. They become rude and nasty. We tossed out all menus tonight. If I have to only get part of my order I rather not order. Waste of time this place.

Have had decent Chinese food here many times, but it has changed. Placed delivery order today. They forgot to send soda, egg rolls, and sauce for egg foo young. Also spare ribs had little meat, although I always raved about their spare ribs. Maybe a one– time bad day. They did deliver the missing items I paid for, about an hour later

The best Chinese food period. I have eaten at so many places and I always compare them to this place. I have had one other come close but nothing is as good as this. They give you so much food and the prices are very fair. Wish I didn’t live so far from this place. A+++
