After moving away i stumbled on this place coming home for a vacation. It is just amazing! Any previous conments about service… joke. they treat you like family. If you want a drive through. Go to mcdonalds. Meats are fresh cut for subs. Always a friendly conversation. We always buy oregano, fresh mozz, and their sauce when we are able to visit. This place is really a hidden gem. Always full of locals.

Customers are treated very poorly. The staff acts as if they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. They seem to hate their jobs, but one insists on singing aloud incessantly in an apparent effort to appear happy. Their bread is delicious and the pizza is great(if they will do you a favor and make one for you). They focus on the bigger money items. Breaded and fried eggplant tastes like cardboard. Sandwiches look good. Go for those items if you don’t mind being abused. Joe Leone’s and Mossuto’s are a thousand times better!

We have been going to Fortunato’s for about 10 years. Claudio and Dominick are great and so is the rest of the staff. The food is excellent — so good that our neighbors in NYC ask us to pick up stuff for them whenever we offer. We love just about everything they make and highly recommend this Italian specialty store. You might have to wait occasionally but we assure you — it will be worth it. Try their fresh mozzarella and also their vodka sauce — yum, yum. ..

My favorite deli ever! The guys working the counter are funny and personable, everything I’ve tried(subs, pizza, sauces, pre-cooked sides, cookies) has been amazing, and their subs are literally the best I’ve had, mostly due to the bread they have shipped from the city daily. Might want to get there earlier in the day because they’re often out of bread by late afternoon. I’m just sad I can only come here on the weekends when I’m down the shore

Hands down best pizza I have ever had. This place is a great, local eatery that wants to make sure they serve only food that they can be proud of… which I think may be off-putting to those who prefer to eat at Applebee’s and Chipotle. It’s obvious that they put a lot of care into the foods they serve and everything is of the best quality.

I’ve only ever tried their subs, but I think they are delicious! My favorite is the fresco sub, with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, tomato and basil. One complaint I have is that they do not always have wheat bread available(their wheat bread is very good). Also, sometimes when trying to order just a salad they don’t have any available either… just seems weird they wouldn’t have lettuce in constant stock. Anyway, I recommend giving this place a try for lunch! Like I said, the subs are very good.

This place is so inefficient. Service is super slow and will take up half your lunch break. If you want a hot sandwich they are already pre-made and then microwaved. I decided to give them another shot today. Had a chicken parm sub and asked for it with light sauce. The guy working there told me they only make it one way. Umm ok I guess. Wrong choice it was killed in sauce and my stomach hurt for the rest of the day. I have also tried their chicken savoy that people rave about on a previous visit. Guess what!?! It’s not good either. There are many other Italian delis around that are not rude, cater to your requests, and the taste is superior to this dump. Take your money, time, and taste buds elsewhere.
