The Best Service Ever! Around 4PM it was a GHOST Town in here. We seated ourselves. They may have been short staffed. We were well taken care of by Ashley, who’s super nice by the way! I believe there were 3 tables occupied … Not that I’m complaining(we received our food quickly). I haven’t been to Joes Crab Shack in a while. We ordered the nachos to start — pretty good. I really wanted the Crab dip! My mom ordered the Queen steam pot, I had the classic. I didn’t know you could request seasoning. A few months ago my mom entered the«Show Us Your Bib» contest – and she WON! She posted the cutest photo! Her and my 96yr old great grandmother. She LOVES Joes Crab Shack. The prize — Free crab meal for a year! Pretty awesome! Of course like any contest there are some restrictions! My mother received a stack of gift certificates, which can be used once a month, only at the Freehold location. We had NO idea. While paying for our meals, The manger(Matthew Dorony) informed us of the fine print. Matthew was kind enough to fix the situation. Thank you Matthew and Ashley!

The fish tacos were delicious, I just wish they came with more for the tortilla chips, or even a different side. My dad got a steam pot and ate every single last bit of it so I can only assume he loved it! Service was good, and the shrimp we had for appetizer were also good.

Avoid this place. I should have realized when all the surrounding places were packed but Joe’s parking lot was empty. $ 2 drinks did not fill this place. Food was cold and the stream pot was luke warm and soggy. I used to like Joe’s Crab shack but this experience has me wondering if I’ll go back.

Would give 0 stars but not an option. Paid $ 30 for what looked like a grand feast fit for a king(according to the picture and waitress) nope I get skinny baby crab legs, 7 or 8 clams and 3 shrimp. Bathed in a pool of butter(gross) Not only that the crabs had no meat on them. They were rubbery and overcooked and just disgusting in general. Not a fair price for a tiny bit of food that didn’t even make me full. Still hungry after I left. Not to mention a mid day flash mob that broke out into song of them singing«ride the train» very confused. Oh we’ll never coming back. If you’re reading this save your money go to shoprite and buy your own crabs. Huge markup pricing on tiny bits of food

Heard this location is closing. after last night’s visit, I can see why. We were in a party of 9 for our Daughter’s Birthday. While the food was ok(same as always), the service was outrageously bad. The server was invisible most of the time, we had to ask for ketchup for the fries, butter for the crab legs, drinks were slow coming. When we first arrived, all the outside signage was out, so we told the server/host, and his reply was he only got paid to serve, this was out of his area. I said if you want people to serve, you need them to know you are open. The Manager appreciated our telling her, and got the signs on(I think). We did tell her about the service when we were leaving, and she said thanks for the input, but it didn’t seem sum it up, closing or not, 9 customers will not be returning here.

It is a chain Seafood place. If you want a large pile of fried seafood this place can provide that for you. I had the fried shrimp and the coconut shrimp, both were decent. Atmosphere is large and cold, with a nautical motif. Service is friendly. Drinks are strong. Unilocalers, what are other good places for seafood in Brick?

Well my opinion is it depends on what you order here on whether it’s good or not. It was my wife’s b-day so she wanted seafood and suggested Joe’s. Walking into joe’s it is an open dining area with some booths. Clean restaurant and clean restrooms. Order an appetizer to start with. We ordered the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms. It wasn’t bad at all I enjoyed them so did my wife. Main course my wife ordered the Artic Bay Steam pot and I ordered the 33 Shrimp Platter. My shrimp platter had peel and eat, coconut and beer battered shrimp along with fries. The picture on the website is so much more appealing then what was served. Very greasy and just didn’t enjoy it at all. Too much of the olé bay seasoning I feel. Everything was good with my wife’s steam pot until the lobster tail came out really mushy. The waitress took it back and they came out with another lobster. Service wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. If I go again someday definitely going with crab legs.

This is a nice place to go if you’re craving seafood. My friend and I sat in their outdoor seating area. The tables there were like long park style benches. It’s nice to accommodate families or groups. The food was good. Make sure you double knot your bib so it stay on.

This Joe’s was great. The food was a very big portion size, and very filling. We even got a free appetizer for signing up with their news letter online! Yum! The service was great, everyone was very nice, and the food was delicious. You should defiantly give Joe’s a try!

Pretty good place. I have been here twice and both the times, the food was very good. The outdoor play area is definitely awesome for the kids. We actually got some time to talk! The reason for 3 stars is the drink and kids menu prices and I wish they had more options for the steam buckets for two. We would have paid more for larger crab legs. All in all– a good place to get crab legs when you have the kids with you.

Was up in the old stomping grounds to see a good friend that is ill and stopped here worth a couple friends. I have been here a few times and have always had great service and this visit was not an exception. The manager stopped by several times to check on us and our server who was only on her second day did great. The food was fresh hot and amazing. The drinks were cold and very refreshing. What did surprise me was that at a peak dinner time on a Saturday there was no wait it even seems like business was slow.

My husband and I stopped here one day for lunch, wanting to try it out. It was pretty empty, and we were seated quickly by a friendly hostess. I did enjoy the décor, which is very beachy/seafoody/shore-like. The establishment, itself, is HUGE. I expect you could easily bring large parties here. It’s a chain restaurant, although any other Joe’s is going to be kind of a hike from here. That being said, still, don’t expect anything over-the-top or out-of-this-world. It’s a chain restaurant that sells fish. Think of it as a more fun version of Red Lobster. We ordered a couple of steam buckets, and I have to say, they were fresh, filling and really fun to eat. My husband and I also ordered a few drinks, and we had a really good time. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful explaining the menu to us since we had never been here before. I had read some reviews on Unilocal about this place, in particular, and I have to say, I am sure that it gets super crowded on weekends and weeknights, so maybe try and experience this place(if you can) on a day when it’s less busy. Or, plan accordingly. There is really nothing wrong with Joe’s, it’s more likely than not that you are just there during a time when it’s too darn busy.

Spent over $ 100 for my wife and I to eat some reheated frozen seafood. Drinks were overpriced as usual, but the service was pretty good. This is probably the tenth review I have written tonight and I am starting to think I should probably stop eating out.

I’ve heard a lot of complaints about the long wait time here. I went on a Wednesday evening and we were seated immediately. Fast friendly service. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and a frozen tie dye. The tie day was too sweet but the apps didn’t disappoint. The lobster and crab pots looked really good but seem like quite a commitment. The lobster nachos were my favorite. I also got the Old Bay shrimp. It reminded me of the time that I spent in North Carolina. Yum! If you want to try it out, a weekday might be a good time.

It’s my first time here in jersey and I have to say the food was very fresh and brought out right away which is a must for me. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms for starters. The appetizer was fresh, hot and stacked with crab meat. Then we got our steamed pot filled with snow crab lobster claws and clams. The clams were very small but tasty. Then lobster meat wasn’t so great but the crab made up for it. We made it for happy hour out server was very nice until she knew we were staying longer for the drinks her attitude completely changed and really upset me. Our new server is very nice even though we are drinking a drink and leaving he has made us feel like we were welcome to stay for as long as we want. Over all I would come back here!

Disagree with the last review about being greeted at the door. My wife and I must have been greeted by half of the staff when we walked in and they held both doors open for us. We were seated right away and Katie was our server. She was prompt and on top of everything. Service was five stars Food was three stars. And they should get rid of the dancing and the disco ball. Very silly. The staff doesn’t even look like they enjoy doing it.

I have been to this location three times. All three time have been great. Ive always got the bucket of crabs which come out great. My boyfriend has had the steam pots also. No complaints. Stuffed clams and crawfish are great too. The berry cobbler is to die for! I have had great service every time I have gone. The waitresses are very friendly. My only issue is the hostess staff. All three times I have been here they have not been welcoming or friendly. Nor do you get a thank you for coming in on the way out. Fix this problem. The hostess are the face of the restaurant.

Tried to have dinner here on 12÷30÷13. Walked in to a long line and about 30 minute wait according to hostess, yet there were at least 25 open tables. I asked if it was ok if we ate at a hightop at the bar and hostess did not realize there was one available and asked me if it was clean… crazy… We next stood at the bar and the bartender never even looked at us. Left after 10 minutes. Management…Something is really wrong here. We have been to other Joes and the food is great but will not come back here… I give it one star for the potential to be good. Zero stars for my experience here…
