Great food, large menu, excellent service. Our waitress was super accommodating and upbeat. The champagne chicken and chop steak were both really tasty. The Princeton salad was super. Very nice casual restaurant with many selections to choose from.

Last two trips here have been so disappointing. First time I had hair In my food. Decided to give one more shot and my steak(ordered medium) was completely unhooked. All out of chances to give. Won’t be going back.

We keep coming back because the food is always very good but the service constantly lacks. I wish the service would get better and I would give it 5 stars in a second but every time we go there it takes a long time for routine service. We will still be back.

Hreat local place to watch the game and have a few cocktails with friends. Drinks could be stronger though. Absolutely recommend!

Windward tavern. I rolled in expecting crap. I rolled out full and satisfied. My entire party ordered burgers and my entire party was impressed. Thick and juicy were more than just words, they had become emotions. Flowing freely from us, the joy of perfectly seasoned moist beef was beyond the rapture which the Catholic Church had promised us as salvation. Crispy, yet yielding, the bacon played second flute to the melted cheeses dominating crescendo of violin like evocations of cheesy rapture. The bun, lightly kissed by the flames of the devil, was perfectly toasted. Most places that boast of a great burger are flagrant frauds. But not here my friends. This is a safe haven for true, honest, lovers of the pure beef patty. Rejoice! For hamburger is his name! Rejoice! Thickness is his bounty!

Having been a fan of Craig’s I figured I’d stop in and try it. Got the nachos cause that’s what I went to Craig’s for. They were mediocre. Just a slop of what I assumed was canned chili, with some cheese .The burger I had was pretty good. Staff seemed nice. I’d try it again.

Great burgers, nice décor, attentive bartenders. Brunch is awesome on Sundays. Parking is on gravel. Lots of TVs in bar area. Nice and quiet but not for those who like solitude. The Mangos were playing one of the nights I went to Windward Tavern and I ended up staying for a couple of sets(good band!).

My mother and seven of her friends went to Windward Tavern on July 9, in the latter part of the afternoon. It was during happy hour, and when they walked in the dining room was completely empty. There were people sitting around the bar, and they decided to go sit in the empty dining room where it was quieter. After a while, the waitress finally came out to greet them. Since it was happy hour, they decided to order a few drinks. But they were told that they couldn’t get the happy hour discount because they were sitting outside the bar area. One of the ladies requested the manager to come over and speak to them, which to his credit, he did. And that’s where any credit he earned as a manager ends. My mother is a senior, as are her seven friends, the oldest of which is in her mid eighties. The dipshit manager tells them if they want happy hour pricing, they need to pony up at the bar. On barstools. Tall barstools! So he expects eight senior citizens to leave their table and trudge into a noisy bar, leaving any chance of a relaxing conversation behind, and climb up on barstools to save a buck on a drink. Nevermind the shock to the poor patrons across the bar who had a few, only to look up and see the cute thirty-something’s vacated their spots which were filled with my mother and her roving band of Happy Hour lushes. Long story short, no one got their drink, they ordered their food, ate and left. I’m told it was a religious experience, because it’s the Last Supper any of them will ever have there. You know what senior ladies like to do when the card games are over, the dominoes have been put away, and all that’s left is to go home, for many of them to an empty house? They like to find places to go eat, have a drink with friends and have some laughs over conversation and otherwise spend their children’s inheritance. You know what else they like to do? They like to tell everybody they know about the good, the bad, and the ugly things in their lives. Bad move WindWard Tavern. You may have saved a total of eight dollars on your happy hour drinks, but you have lost so much more.

It has been a while… I do enjoy the bar area. Great for sports & live music. This evening we are eating in the dining room, open and very clean. Nice fireplace along the wall. Large open glass wall looking out to a wooded area. Food is consistent and always good. Ohhhh yes… A good martini. Enjoy A We’ll run establishment.

Prices are very steep on the dinner menu. Lunch prices not bad. Table got fried calamari, nacho platter, grilled clams for appetizers. Nachos were mediocre. Clams tasted like they were still drowning in ocean water, not a clean taste. Calamari was good. For entrees: metedeconk melt — bread to burnt to cut into, roast beef over cooked and no seasoning, overall a difficult to eat sandwich, would not recommend. Barely finished a quarter of it before giving up. Arizona chicken sandwich — chicken was dry, over cooked and thick. After getting past the chicken the rest of the sandwich wasn’t bad Tex Mex Burger — no flavor

The hubs and I came here one night for dinner because we had a gift card. We were seated fairly quickly, and the service was pretty fast. The chicken pot pie was amazing, and a huge portion. I wish it were something you could pack up and reheat! It was divine I tell you. Gift card or not we will be returning. I also thoroughly enjoyed the craft paper tablecloths and crayons, but I’m juvenile like that lol

Now here’s a home town Tavern worth visiting again. Nice beer selection. Drink prices and happy hour very reasonable. «Cheers», like atmosphere. Everyone is friendly. You can eat at the bar or in the restaurant. Never had a bad meal in either. I’ve come for Lunch and Dinner. Portions are large. Food is good. Love their Chicken Parmesan, Grilled Steaks, & their Daily specials like Shrimp and Asparagus over linguine in garlic sauce. Delish!

Really like this place. They updated it nicely and it’s brighter inside. Everything we ordered was great and the staff was very friendly with more than one person checking to make sure we didn’t need anything. Will be going back here.

This place used to be Craig’s but now it has been redone and is nicer inside now. The place has typical jersey shore local bar/restaurant ambience so you know exactly what you’re getting. I found the bar area to be a little cramped on weekend nights but that’s a minor criticism. The food was really quite good. The burgers especially were excellent, some of the best burgers in the area in my opinion. Overall a good place to watch a game or hang out and grab some better than average bar food.

I’ve been wanting to try the Windward Tavern for months. Quick back story, my wife, friends, and I spend lots of our weekends in pubs and taverns. We travel and do the same, so our experiences are ample. Anyways back to the Windward. The wife and I were in the mood for something new so at 830 on a Friday evening we venture to the place of reference. On arrival, my wife immediately knows other patrons of the pub, who assure us we’ve made a good choice. We grab our seats at the bar and our some apps; muscles marinara and fried raviolis. The food was actually quite good. After a couple of pints for me and one drink for the wife, the band(Easily Distracted) starts. Perfect sound level, good acoustics, and we were still able to have a conversation. Then … the wife who is notorious for asking for more soda in her rum and Coke asks the bartender to add a little more booze to an obviously light drink. The bartender obliges and brings back a similar mixed soda beverage. After a taste of what was mostly CocaCola, a second bartender was asked for a new drink. This is where the two star rating comes into play. The first bartender says they can’t make another drink(a call I understand) without management approval. The manager(who never bothered to introduce himself) told the bartender not to make another. He came to us and explained that all their drinks were 3 second pours and thats what we got. To which I began to try and start a dialog and was interrupted by the manger and was told were not paying for the drink as he walked away. Walked away. And thats the moral of the story. Bars and restaurants are in the customer service business and while the customer is not always right, management has a duty to hear a complaint out try o make things right. And in any business, making things right does not include walking away from your customer. All that said, the bartender was sweet and tried to deescalate a situation that her boss created and the food and atmosphere was quite good. Go and enjoy just don’t expect management to rectify any problems you may have.

Delaney: Everything was good, but one persons salmon was undercooked. I recommend the linguine in clam sauce. The ceaser salad was good too!

Great family atmosphere, food was very good. The staff kind and attentive. We stumbled upon this place and we will be back. They have a decent brunch on Sundays with the typical brunch fair. I had a Ruben which was good and big enough where I took half home. The soup of the day was Creamy Sweet Potato and was OUTSTANDING. Give the place a try you will not regret it.

Having not. visited this place in a while we were pleasantly surprised by the improvements since they opened. We had a pizza app that was excellent, then the fillet mignon on English muffins. Everything was excellent. Owner came over to ask how everything was and we were happy to tell him«perfection».We also waited for the«Mangos» to came on and even though they were right in front of us it wasn’t overpowering! We had a nice meal and fun time here!

We really are big fans of Windward Tavern — for lunch, dinner and for Sunday brunch/breakfast(@$ 12 for all you can eat; you cannot go wrong!) Their food is very good, very tasty and we’ve never encountered any kind of problem with our meals. Service is always very attentive and very friendly; Adam is our favorite server. Some of our favorite menu items: blue cheese & bacon burger(WISH fries came with it instead of chips, but I suffer and pay the upcharge), french onion soup, seafood pasta, chicken parm, shrimp parm and their Sunday brunch/breakfast is fabulous and great to come with the kids or a large group. We come to Windward with our family and our kids a few times throughout the year and always have a great time.
