Found a dead mouse on the ground right before we were about to start eating… We literally ran out of that place. If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. This place was sketchy from the beginning.

I really loved this place and wanted to continue loving it, but alas all good things come to an end :( I haven’t been to Zeke’s in a while because the servers and service changed from warm and accommodating to calculated and(dare I say) stingy? I went tonight with my kids and son’s friend. There were ball games on every channel. I asked the busboy if he would change the channel to something a little more kid friendly since there was no one on that side of the restaurant but us. He told me no. When our server came over, I asked her as well. She said no the owner want his restaurant to be known as a sports bar and he won’t even change the channel for his kids. STIRIKEONE!(Announcer voice) When Zeke’s opened the owner used to come and say hi to everyone and see how they were enjoying their meals. Tonight he practically glared at our table and went back to wherever he came from. STIRIKETWO!(Announcer voice) With three hungry kids, I decided that 30+ minutes was too long to wait for food in an empty restaurant. The kids where practically chanting that they wanted to go home. I told the waitress we were leaving and she glared at me and shrugged her shoulders. No sorry for the wait, no how about some crackers for your hungry kids… just a shrug and a glare. STIRIKETHREE!(Announcer voice) ANd we broke out… never to return. I had really high hopes for them :(

This places is out of control. Me and 4 of my friends came to eat here. I find it funny that they open at 11:00 and staff was outside at 11:00 waiting for a door to be opened. That door never was open till 11:45. I believe it was the tall black owner that showed up late having us and staff wait outside for him to come. Really!!! Be on time dude and on time is before you open not 45 mins late. Once we got in I. Was a mad dash by his staff to set up for a brunch clearly he was not ready for. The sever we had was wonderful. He struggled to get the restaurant ready for a day while taking tables and setting up. He had 4 tables as he tried to turn this around. We asked for two things music and menus he had informed us the the owner was turning on the music and making new menus. That clearly never happened the owner stepped out to call a cook to come in and then once he came the owner left. After 5 mins the server came to us and gave us the menu orally which was better then waiting on a owner that clearly does not know how to run a business. No music no menus no salad for the salad bar. To dismay the drinks were perfect. We figured we are here lets just eat. On the way to the salad bar if that’s what u call it. The salad was not even enough to fill 4 plates. The greens were off brown looked days old. The soup omg it looked like it’s been cooking in the same pot for weeks. You could see the crust caked to the side. Then on the way back we found Stuart little laying dead on the floor. This places is horrible the owner needs to pack up and find a new hobby and yes hobby because anyone that doesn’t care to be in at least an hour early to make sure you are set up and walk the floor to clean up certain things before people come in. His staff was there on time. Why wasn’t he? If we saw a dead mouse on the floor how many are still alive and running around? Where there is mice there are roaches! They go together like bread and butter. This place is nice on the inside yet when u peel the 1st layer back its a place to get sick. DONTGOHERE! This was the 3rd time we have been. Same owner always different staff the only one that was a rock was our server yet how long can he stay at a place where he is set up to fail by the owner.

Had to edit the review… For the following. ITIS A MICEDEN! I saw mice running all over the place! The staff are awesome and very attentive and courteous. All the problems seem to be with the Owner of the establishment. He was late opening up his own restaurant with staff waiting outside. You could clearly tell the owner was intoxicated from a night of heavy drinking. He was treating the staff very rude(which are always different staff members) Upon entering I noticed at least 3 live mice running around. After that I quickly gathered my things and left and will never return. The owner is at fault here. How can you run a business and not even show up on time! Word of advice to the owner is lay off the alcohol and sell the business clearly you are not a responsible owner. I will be notifying the authorities over the rodent issue. You cannot serve human beings food with rodents running around and who knows what other insects and animals running around. BEWARESTAYAWAY!

The standard of what a dining experience should be like, this is the bar and grill you have been searching for. Went here on Veterans Day with a few fellow service members and all I can say is I plan on making this my new regular spot. Very friendly service, awesome drink selections with a great menu, all tied into a good ambient atmosphere. The quesadillas should have their own zip codes and the nachos could feed a small village. The drinks are made strong and are a great value, food comes out fast and you can taste just how fresh the ingredients are. I had the Henessy BBQ Salmon and it was great, wife had the create-your-own-burger and it was cooked far better than any burger joint in the city. Zekes is definitely an up and coming place, strongly recommend. I especially appreciate the extra touches they made for Veterans Day to make it a quality experience as well.

Update: The owner is a man of his word. Because of his promising reply to my earlier review we gave Zeke’s another try. MUCH better! We got our coleslaw and it was creamy and crunchy. The fries were well-seasoned. The burgers were still messy to eat, but this time it wasn’t because of wet buns, but because of the generous amount of tasty toppings and they were cooked to exactly the pink-in-the-middle doneness we wanted. Keep up the good work, Zeke’s!

Bridgeport needs more places like this. Went here during happy hour to try out the half priced appetizers and $ 4 mixed drinks. Had the chicken quesadilla, classic nachos and the boneless buffalo wings. The chicken quesadilla and nachos were both amazing! The buffalo boneless chicken not so much. The chicken could have been more crispy or maybe would have been better with a different type of sauce. The bar tender was very nice and friendly. Will be coming back try some of the other dishes!

Tried this spot today and was pleasantly surprised. We had a groupon and it’s close by so we wanted to give it a try. We walked in around 6pm and were the only ones here which was a surprise but we stayed. It is a new business so I wasn’t surprised when I ordered an ultimate mojito and they didn’t have any mint leaves or when they didn’t have pepperoni to add to my daughters pizza. When our food came out I was shocked. The portions were huge and my chicken brocolli pasta was great! None of us could finish out food. We will definitely come back. Glad to have a family restaurant so close by.
