The location was convenient and we were seated fairly quickly. The portions are diner-size big. Suggestions: There needs to be some kind of seating either in the entry foyer or an outdoor bench for waiting for a table.

Cue usual diner intro… I don’t go to diners for seafood, steaks, meatloaf, triple decker sandwiches or mile high pies. For me, there is only one meal to be had-Lox and onion omelette, well done home fries and rye toast with a good cup of coffee. I’ve had this very same meal at dozens of diners throughout New Jersey. From the horrifically bad to mighty fine. Bridgewater did not have my favorite omelette. So I had an onion omelette which was very nicely cooked. Home fries and rye toast were very tasty. Combined with friendly service for the win. Bridgewater Diner is a very popular spot in the middle of route 22, one of the worst roads in America. Recommended.

Food is just ok, nothing special. It’s a good place to stop while on the road. They have classic diner food, and the place is clean and the service is good.

A good solid diner. The service was good on a busy morning.

Great place for lunches and breakfast. Their lunch special menu is typically a very good bargain that includes a cup of soup, an entrée and a cup of ice cream for 10 dollars. Everything here in terms of flavor is very mediocre. Its diner food after all. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Traditional diners like this one I feel like are becoming more and more scarce in the central jersey area(large portions, large menu, reasonable price, diner aesthetics). The servers here are typically very nice. Two complaints. 1. The time from being seated to paying your bill is around an hour and twenty minutes during lunch rush which is difficult when you’re on an hour break. I understand it’s a rush. But consistently, when it comes time to pay the bill, its difficult flagging down the server. Second, management/owner’s(not sure what they are), are fairly rude and self entitled. Simple requests on bill splits or seating arrangements they seem to act like its the most unreasonable request in the world… and their attitudes have to go. I see this without fail EVERYTIME I go. Its usually happens to our group and surrounding patrons. Its ridiculous. And after speaking to many workers in the area(Bridgewater and Somerville), many share this view of mine and purposely refuse to walk in because so.

You’ll find all of your regular jersey diner options here… Breakfast, lunch sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, dinner entrees. I frequent the Bridgewater diner for lunch because of the convenient location on Rt 22, not for any outstanding food. I’ve ordered everything from their egg platters/omelettes to their wraps/sandwiches/burgers. Food is A-okay(a bit bland), service is speedy, and prices are what you’d expect from a diner. They’re priced a little higher than the other two diners I frequent in NJ. Tons of different food items to offer on their multi page menu. Wouldn’t say this is my favorite diner in Jersey but definitely worth a visit if you’re looking to satisfy your diner craving or want tons of food options any time of day.

If you’re into huge portions of mediocre food, this is the place for you. On the positive side, the place is clean and nicely kept, not your typical seedy middle of the road diner. The server was also quick and polite. Which makes one wonder, why the same management doesn’t care a bit about the food? What is the point in serving huge portions of very very mediocre food? We ordered tuna sandwich, potato skins and chicken quesadilla — all appetizers — as we didn’t want anything too heavy while on the road. What arrived were gigantic portions of the blandest foods, topped with huge chunks of questionable cheese, served with bland, tasteless fries. We ended up leaving most of the food on the plate. It was just not worth the bother. If you’re into such foods, then this is the place for you. If you want something tasty and somewhat fresh, look for somewhere else.

Been here many times service varies between good and excellent as does the food, never is it bad, just typical diner fare with typical diner service, don’t go if you’re in a rush as when busy they can be slow, you will always have a decent meal at this diner

The breakfast was just blah. Home fried potatoes were cold. Bacon was not crispy eggs were of low quality and mushy soft. And the coffee is absolute junk. Wonder if they know what the pictures on their web site look like because the food doesn’t come close to it

Our go to breakfast, lunch & dinner place when we have no idea what to eat :) Amazing waffles, great chicken salad, delicious burgers and their cole slaw is the best!

Service was good. That’s the 2 stars. They served my scrambled eggs on top of my crispy waffle which turned the waffle into a rubber mess,(yes, I had them get me a new one). The home fries were without taste. Coffee wasn’t good either.

Prices are reasonable, service has been OK-good, and food has been on par with what I expect from a diner. The location is easy to get to although pulling onto the left lane on 22 to exit is definitely is daunting at times.

been going here for years, maybe 30 – 40 times, usually terrific waiters and waitresses, almost everything is good, especially the french onion soup, the broiled scallops. i could go on. yea the parking lot gets crowded and there’s a line weekends, otherwise you’re seated pretty quickly. portions are big and i always take something home like the goulash or the meatloaf. there’s no place within 10 miles as good IMO.

Declan: Everything I’ve gotten here’s great Once I got lobster ravioli#amazing. Don’t even get me started on the chocolate chip pancakes… I also love the shrimp scampi, broiled shrimp. By the way they have great onion rings. I also recommend the great wings, especially mild! Delaney: The tilapia is great and so are the pancakes. Calamari is awesome and the service is usually great. There is definitely a variety to choose from.

Yeah, this place is awesome. Don’t let that death trap of a parking lot deter you, the quality, quantity, and variety of food items is well worth it. The menu is pretty much a novel thick of endless choices. Don’t just flip to the last page(Senior discounts), you’ll ruin the plot. The breakfast items, sandwiches, «in a basket» section, and italian dishes are just some of the categories of food of which I have sampled. All of which have been 5 star worthy. Kinda disappointed that the hours have been cut back in recent years. Bridgewater Diner used to be open until 3am! Guess I’ll have to make my rounds before midnight now(or 1am on Fridays and Saturdays)! In short, the Bridgewater diner is simply a diner not to be skipped.

HUGE portions of just regular«diner food.» I’m not sure that i could write much more, but for a basic breakfast, this hit the spot. Would I go out of my way to get there again if it required driving more than a couple of minutes… nah. The service was VERY attentive, prices were way reasonable, just nothing I was dying to have.
