Service and atmosphere is amazing. The place is small but a great local stop. I miss this place. Wish I still lived near by.

We were a party of 6 people. The staff accommodated all of us comfortably. The server was excellent and very attentive. The food was extremely tasty and well prepared and the presentation of the food was excellent. All 6 of us enjoyed our meal and not one of us complained about a thing. We all enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely go back.

Very disappointed on our first visit. Restaurant was not crowded at all. Our beers were poured and sat on the counter a good 15 – 20 minutes before it was served to our table. I requested a new round of beers as the first were already warm. Server looked at me like I was asking for something unreasonable. Food was mediocre at best. Also, I had a coupon with no expiration and they refused to accept it stating that they no longer participate in that program. Spoke to manager who still refused to accept it and did not offer any other alternative suggestions. Will not return!

Terrible. I can’t even believe it was rated 3.5 stars which was better than some of the surrounding restaurants. Took two adults and three kids. Menu that was provided was about ¼ the menu online The kids’ entrees came out before the appetizer. Ordered a draft beer and it was subbed for a bottled beer which they assumed I would like. Food was mediocre at best. Very bland. Ordered seafood oreganato, scallops were mushy and no way the clams and mussels were freshly cooked. I expected more and was greatly disappointed.

Very cool spot, great view of the bay’s and yachts, good drinks and decent beers on tap. Had a little bite to eat which was good and the menu looked appetizing

We hadn’t been here in a few years and were pleasantly surprised that they had recently renovated the inside. It looks GREAT. You can’t beat the views… its right on the dock of the Brielle Marina. While we had lunch, we watched the fishermen come in with their catch. I had the Ahi Tuna Salad which was delicious! The service was very good and the entire staff accommodating. I’d definitely return!

So hard for me to write this. This place has been my go to for the last ten years, it had a great relaxed shore feeling without the huge boardwalk crowd. The new management has killed that. Metal gates on the patio stop traffic flow from the bar, bar windows are rarely open and ordering is primarily done through a waitress(patio) which creates constant foot traffic in a tight space(that has one way in & out). Wait staff for the patio is mediocre at best. At times there is one bar tender running the whole bar, creating longer waits(compared to 2 – 3 tenders with previous owners). Winter hours are spotty, as they will shut down hours before the posted time(understood as it was pretty dead this winter, but we ran into this several times when we stopped by for a late night snack). The new owner has also skimped on some of the better perks, cutting the length of happy hour several times as well as items on the menu. On one occasion I went in 10 minutes before the end of happy hour and talked with the bar tender for a good fifteen, when I went to cut the chit chat and put in a happy hour order I was told I missed it by two minutes and the computer wouldn’t put it through… not that I need to save $ on an order of wings, but what a slap in the face. Not sure what the deal with the«lounge» upstairs is, but okay. Food is okay… but similar to better is able to be found at over ten places within a half mile. Not sure what they were thinking, yes some of the building could have been seen as dated, so I can understand the re-fit, but with it and the new management they killed what made this bar special.

We have been coming here for many years but had not been here for awhile since we avoid places by the water during the summer craziness. New owner took over last August and there are pro’s and cons. Food was not consistent across the board this visit. The tuna taco(sushi style) was terrific, we both loved the taste dipping sauce and feshness. Rich had calamari with buffalo sauce and blue cheese dipping sauce. The problem here, it wasn’t even warm. It must have sat while they made my tuna taco. I had a specialty sushi roll for my main meal which was OK but stingy on the seared tuna which was supposed to be on top of it. The roll itself was rather light. Rich had seared tuna over salad. Again it was OK, the tuna was very light(hardly any on the salad and sliced super thin like they were trying to stretch it out if you will.) We had good service from Elizabeth, still enjoyed the views as always but will rethink the eating options in the future. I think they have turned into a drink and appetizer place for us going forward. I wouldn’t recommend for a main meal anymore.

Stopped in here after being on a boat all day. Ordered baked wings, shrimp cocktail and beers. I must say that the wings were incredible. Its almost worth driving back there for the wings. I asked for them to be well done and they were made exactly how I asked. They had several flavors and we ordered honey bbq and buffalo. Our bartender was very friendly and social. Great bar on the water!

They don’t call me Captain BullDog because I’m always nice! But what I can say is this. Anything that Larry Hoffman puts his hand on or his name, he’s like freakin Donald Trump. He can’t help himself. It’s got to be perfection. First the Hoffman Marina now the redo of this place… beat a path there! Next he’ll be running for President!

I am particularly fond of this place because it’s got a great atmosphere and delicious food! The sushi is very fresh and very good! The service staff are very friendly and accommodating! The drinks are great, excellent beer options and an upstairs dining room that can be rented out for private events. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re in the area!

Good Food… Bad service… They served raw clams WITHOUT cocktail sauce. Saturday afternoon bartender is too busy talking to be attentive to customers needing drinks. The only reason we continue to go there is for the scenery.

This place would be cute if the band wasn’t playing SODAMNLOUD!!! They started after we ordered unfortunately and we spent the entire meal looking at our phones and staring at each other as we were totally unable to communicate. On a plus note I liked our spinach and cheese dip though it was a little too cheesy.

We came here for happy hour on a Saturday night and had amazing honey bbq grilled wings. The sandwiches, pasta, and sushi are amazing here~ The stoli drink specials are amazing! They have all flavors! The waterfront view is beautiful. Our waitresses were both very attentive. They took turns to check up on our table, picked up every empty dish, and quickly refilled our waters.

Menu is crazy absolutely no fish on it except sushi and it’s not a sushi restaurant!(New management) Your sitting staring out at the water(absolutely beautiful) and only 2 entrees they offer is lobster ravioli and garlic shrimp! Plenty of steak burgers wings etc. Living in NYC and coming to beach I wanted some FISH that’s why I came to a place on the water. The one thing NYC has is sushi, burgers and pizza. I hope they rethink this menu before summer I love this place. Would hate to see it go down for silly menu. Had excellent New England clam chowder for soup and service was good as usual(except no wifi as the bartender took password home. What’s up with that??) hence the 2 stars hope they think in that strain going forward.

The new sand bar is a breath of fresh air. The new owners have done a lot to bring it up to speed while preserving a lot of the old sand bar feel. Most of all, the sand bar wouldn’t be the sand bar without its staple people whole make it what it is, Michelle, Lexi and Barb. The food is always good, the service and people are what make it spectacular.

Probably one of the most challenging reviews I’ve ever written… 1) new owners have their act together 2) food is probably 4 to even 5 stars depending on what you are eating 3) service has been excellent, friendly and on the mark So what is the issue you ask ??? The outrageous drink prices. I mean outrageous ! We went for appetizers and drinks Friday night. Shared a burger, shared an order of shrimp, and shared a tiny flatbread pizza. They bill was 120.00. Why? Because they charge $ 10.00 for a rum and coke and we had a few. This is not Manhattan — drinks like this run 6 to maybe 7.50 at our favorite spots in the area. Pretty good spots too such as Harpoon Willys… why the Sand Bar thinks 10.00 for a WEAK rum and coke is acceptable is beyond me. We really liked this spot. Good food, sushi, service, view. But the crowd is thin, and the bar tab is probably the reason. Sorry…I was kind with 3 stars.
