Great little place with a few serious flaws. Food — 5* Service — 5* Value — 4.5* Dining room temperature and sun glare — 1* Dining room needs an AC window unit twice the current capacity. Not a huge investment. Dining room also needs a front window glare shield to not have patrons dining with squinted eyes. It’s a shame that diners can’t fully enjoy the fresh, well-prepared seafood in this small gem of a place.

Ate here tonight with ten family members– including six kids. We called at 8:15 to see if they could accommodate us because they close at 9 on Thursdays. They not only stayed open just for us but also made tons of crab legs way past when they normally do. Everything we had was delicious and the staff was kind. Thank you!

This is a curious little spot. When you walk in you can not see the dining area and you honestly think you walked into the wrong place. Plastic forks and knives and you pick from a limited amount of soda from a cooler or they offer water. The dining area is small and let’s say«intimate» with the other diners. Then comes the food! What a treat, great pricing on fresh seafood and a helpful young staff that kept your little table clear and was as friendly as you could possibly ask for. Portions are huge and they offer some great family choices. 5⁄5!

This place is incredible. The seafood is spectacular with no fillers or crazy cover up spices. It’s all wild caught. I bet if u asked they could tell u the name of the lobsters’ mom and dad. Pluuuus it’s bring your own beer/wine!!! Prices are moderate and completely worth every penny.

Ok, Wow. Very surprised by this hidden gem. Fresh seafood, off season $ 10.99 eat in/take out specials make this a must for off season visits. Very small no frills dining room but all the love goes into the food. Lobster roll was huge and fresh. New England chowder was good but next will try the the bisque. Stuffed shrimp with crabmeat was unreal. Each $ 10.99 entrée came with 2 sides. Will be back.

This is a very tiny… shack: the name is absolutely accurate. The décor is, more or less, nonexistent. The service is variable – it varies depending on the teenager in the tiny dining room. But the food is fantastic! Perfectly cooked and fresh, fresh, fresh fish and seafood; cole slaw is delicious, sides are fresh and house made. You would think that prices would be less(given the obvious lack of overhead), but In the end the meal was delicious, so you get over paying a few dollars too much. Seafood available cooked(eat in or carry out) or raw; prices are also high for carry out. Acme market usually has fresh local fish in the summer: much less expensive!

Very small seating area(cozy), but the food is more than worth any wait. Fresh and large portions, not ridiculously priced, with friendly and informative wait staff. Would hit this place as a regular if I was a local, which I am not. The counter area has a good selection for grab n’ go cooking at home.

I’m in love with places like The Crab Shack! Fresh seafood market as soon as you walk in but don’t be fooled they also have a small dining area in the back of the store. My mother and I came here after a long day of shopping and all I heard out of her the whole time was I can’t wait for those fried shrimp! She made me so hungry by the time we got there I was starving and craving a crab cake sandwich so bad. We walked in looked at all the fresh seafood they had to offer and grabbed a table in the back. Our waitress came over rite away and offered us ice water or we could grab a drink from the freezer. They have Stewart’s products so I grabbed an ice cold cream soda and was really happy. We decided on a fried crab cake sandwich with fries for me and my mom obviously got here fried shrimp platter that she was talking about all day! It took less than 10 mins for our food to arrive and when it did I was so excited. I doused my crab cake with some lemon and took a huge bite. The crab cake had a nice crunch to it with a meaty center, absolutely perfect! Nothing but lump crab meat and little to no fillers. The french fries were crisp and hit the spot. My mom didn’t even talk for the entire meal until she finished it needless to say she thought it was amazing as well. Prices are reasonable and well worth it for the quality you are getting. I can’t wait to come back and grab some grub and some of those homemade crab cakes to take home and broil myself! I’m not positive but I think The Crab Shack is BYOB as well!

Everything here has been off the hook. From the broiled fish to the Dungeness crab to the lobster roll, to dare I admit, the fried chicken(!), I could die if I knew my last meal was from here. Everything is so fresh and delicious and the menu is so extensive, a seafood lover can’t go hungry here. There’s a ton of fresh fish to choose from — everything from halibut, Chilean sea bass, flounder, mahi mahi and more, which they cook to your liking. Why bother with the grill when they can cook it to perfection? They carry king crab legs and Dungeness(which is a rare find in this neck of the woods), and both are so sweet and tasty. The lobster rolls, which they recently added to the menu are the biggest I’ve eaten there is more meat than you can eat in one serving. Their Manhattan clam chowder is delicious, but they don’t have it often. They could be a little more generous with portions of the sides, which include fries, cole slaw, baked beans or corn on the cob. They have a small dining area, which is nothing fancy, and lots of raw fish you can take to go(tuna, flounder, clams, shrimp, etc.) as well. All in all, one of the most solid fresh seafood markets on the island, not to be missed!

After reading reviews and looking At the menu sample we decided this would be the perfect shore dining experience. Not so. The tiny dining room was clean and pleasant but as it was the size of a living room, I felt as though I should be mixing and mingling with the other 5 tables which were all occupied. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered a family combo but after she told us that they were out of lobster we reordered another family platter only to be told they were out if blue crab but would substitute Dungeness:( I ordered halibut with honey and walnuts for $ 25 and received a moderate portion which was dry and coated with old bay:( All-in-all I would say this establishment should stick with carry-out service.

A seemingly hopeless day of finding reasonably priced seafood in this town ended in pleasant surprise at the Crab Shack. Upon entering the store, boo and I saw only a display of raw seafood in a little room and were about to walk out. Luckily our waitress ushered us into a hidden room in the back similar to a cave of wonders. We were given red solo party cups and thought, «yes, this place IS party. The menu had endless seafood combinations. The food was better value than most restaurants. Seriously HUGE portions. The waitress was on point. Food tasted great. Really, no complaints here.

The Crab Shack is more than just great seafood. it’s great value provided by a great team. Pete and his team served my family get-together with a delicious seashore seafood feast. Our daughters originally turned us on the The Crab Shack and we will definitely make it a favorite on our«go-to» list of seafood restaurants from now on. Thanks, Joe

The place was jumping! Our server wasn’t the most pleasant person on earth and a bit slow, but the food made up for all that. I had the crabs and it was amazingly good!
