What a cozy little café/diner right here in Brighton. It was walking distance from my brother in laws house and he said it would be a solid spot for breakfast and lunch. Typical diner menu, prices were extremely affordable. Since it was the day after Xmas the place was wide open and we were seated immediately. I could see this place getting slammed with business, I know there is a lot of students in the area and their menu is super affordable. I ordered the Steak and Eggs which also came with choice of toast and home fries, all for $ 9.50, solid deal! The portion was huge for under $ 10. Solid 4 stars for value, portion, and expectation.

Nothing to write home about. Definitely more a café than a brunch place. Coffee is horrible. I don’t know how people say its good. Service is good if you are at the bar, other than that they dont have a flow going any time i go there. They’re nice though but food isnt good.

Considering this is in the heart of college town, they cater exactly to their clientele. Will you find the best food in Boston here? No. But will you find a solid breakfast/diner experience for prices so low that you wonder if you’re actually in Boston? Yes. These guys never disappoint and I’m glad they stick to what they know and do best. Thank you Brighton Café for doing you. Edit: 5 stars because they do exactly what they’re trying to do. No frills, just delicious and cheap.

Get the Big Five! It’s $ 7.50 and comes with 1 pancake, 1 french toast, 1 egg any style, 1 choice of meat(I recommend the corn beef hash), and home fries. Both the pancake and french toast have very good consistency. The aroma of the cinnamon on top of the french toast is wonderful and adds enough sweetness. Personally, I don’t like too much syrup on french toast or pancakes and only pour lightly as I go. The corn beef hash is DELISH! I wish the serving was bigger, but it’s okay. That means I have to come back for more. The home fries are just okay. They are pretty in presentation but they are a bit bland. I added salt pepper, butter, and ketchup to them for flavor. The interior is clean, laidback, and totally unpretentious. I love it so much! A great place to take refuge in during the winter or on a rainy day, like in the movies! During my first time here, I was just craving some diner/comfort food and came in all by my lonesome. I would’ve been happy to sit at the counter, but the waiter let me sit on a table meant for four people for myself. I thought this was generous of him. He was shy but very attentive and prompt. You really get a bang for your buck here. Apparently, their iced coffee($ 1.75) really good, too. Other items on the menu that sound magnificent are the Irish Breakfast($ 7), Chocolate Chip Pancakes($ 5), and Boneless Buffalo Wings(unfortunately I didn’t check the price for that)! I will be back for all of that!

Just moved to Brighton and soooo happy I found this gem! They have the best breakfast and it was super cheap! The eggs were great and those chocolate chip pancakes were, without a doubt, the best thing since sliced bread. Def a good spot to bring a friend for brunch if they’re visiting. The service was good too, our waitress was very attentive. I’ll be back!

Now that I’ve moved to Brookline, this has become a go-to breakfast spot on the weekends. The prices are dirt cheap($ 4 for two eggs, potatoes and toast!), the dishes are good quality, and the service is friendly. This diner is the kind of pleasant, no-frills experience that everyone should have in their neighborhood. Occasionally there can be a wait to get seated(it is a popular spot), but it’s relatively fast food so the tables turn quickly. Pro tip: Get a smoothie here; they are freaking delicious.

I’m torn on this one! PRO: –Quick service –2 scrambled eggs with wheat toast and home fries is just $ 4! This place has unbelievably reasonable prices for egg combos, sandwiches, pancakes, and pastries. CON: –Food isn’t that great. My eggs were bland and overcooked and my toast was slathered in butter. The home fries, while not bad texturally, were also tasteless. For breakfast on a budget, it’s an okay choice(and maybe they do better with pancakes/french toast/pastries), but I won’t be ordering scrambled eggs or home fries again here.

I’ve stopped in here twice for iced coffee before work at my second job, today I got a breakfast sandwich and it was really good. Really inexpensive, as well. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is that I found a piece of eggshell in my sandwich(I have to eat things in small pieces because of having oral surgery not too long ago). But I’ll be back for sure.

Love this place. Delicious, no frills, diner style food, amazing prices and always great/super friendly service. The bill is always shockingly small and the food is good. If you love breakfast this place is the best.

I love that this place is so close to my apartment. The coffee is amazing and their breakfast is amazing as well. I love getting a donut and iced coffee here while waiting for my laundry to be done :)

The owners know how my husband and I take our coffee, and will often bring it to the table before we even say«good morning». Starbucks can’t spell my name, but these people know my coffee before I’m awake, and you just can’t put a price on that. It’s a delicious, cheap diner that serves delicious, cheap diner food — unlimited coffee refills, big fluffy pancakes, beautiful runny eggs and potatoes. It’s the best.

Great breakfast! Stopped here while at the auto body shop across the street(which was fantastic as well). Had a perfectly portioned egg, toast, and home fries(get them extra crispy!) breakfast for $ 4. Affordable for a college budget and solid diner style food!

I’m a big fan of Brighton Café, and I’ll be very sad to have to say goodbye to this place when my girlfriend moves out of Brighton. This was always my go-to place for a nice flavored ice coffee before heading to catch the Green Line. Their coffee is always really tasty, and fairly priced. The food is actually delicious and flavorful as well, especially the breakfast sandwiches. Considering this is one of the best priced breakfast/brunch spots I’ve found in the city, you wouldn’t expect the best quality, but that isn’t the case. Kudos to Brighton Café for not skimping on quality, while still keeping things affordable.

I’m a big fan of Brighton café. I’ve had their smoothies, frappés, iced tea and breakfast dishes and I have yet to be disappointed. The establishment is simple, and you get great food for a great price. I appreciate the simplicity, the consistency in the quality of their food, and the friendly service. Recommended for anyone looking for a yummy place for brunch with friends or solo.

This is a very basic diner, not a café. It’s inexpensive and right by the Washington Street T stop on the green line so perfect if you want to head downtown afterwards. Whenever I’m in Brighton I normally stop here for a quick coffee and croissant and then head into Boston by the green line. You could probably make a more culinary inspired meal in your own kitchen but I’m a fan of the unbeatable prices and the food also comes out quick. A great option for mornings you are either hungover or running late and need a quick bite.

Generally fast and friendly for me, with an iced coffee large enough that it isn’t gone before I’m out the door. The selling point is it’s size; New England Coffee is neither best nor worst. The selling point of this establishment on the whole is the diner feel without any overtly stylized attitude about itself. As such, it’s a great place to get no-frills brunch with friends who can conversate. Big fan of the old fashioned donut, as well. So tempted to give 5 stars but nothing is actually outstanding about Brighton Café, they just do a solid brunch without pretense. So, a very fond 4 stars.

Brighton Café is the greasy spoon diner you’d expect from the old-school counter and plastic-y chairs. The food is decent, but the price is what makes me eager to return — I’m talking eggs, potatoes, toast, bacon, and coffee for under $ 5. What I love about this breakfast joint is the laid-back atmosphere. Servers are friendly, and serve simple food exactly how you ordered it. I’m also a fan of the bar-stool seating next to the kitchen. Perfect for a quick bite by yourself or with a friend before starting up the day. I’ve had take-away and eat-in experiences here, and the food was average both times.(Plus, no wait even on a Saturday morning.) For the cheap price and basic food, I’m a fan.

This place isn’t wonderful, but it’s not bad either. I live one block away from here, so it’s easy to find myself going there on mornings when I wake up late before work. Usually I get the Greek omelet with added spinach which is 6 $. Without spinach the Greek omelet(feta and tomato) is 5.50 $ The service is nice the coffee is fine and usually there’s some good people watching to be had and the tv is playing The View which is really all I look for in a diner experience. They have ketchup and Tabasco. Most of the foods have meat in them so if your a vegetarian you’re going to be limited to like 2 omelets or pancakes. Also, they accept level up and the giant buckets(read: size medium) iced coffee are TWODOLLARSEACH! Whatta steal.
