After ten years of near weekly visits we still have examples of how this is a community as much as a pub. Tonight a creative server(Chris) figured out how to honor a ridiculous request from a child who watches too much Cooking Network and magically delivered ice cream with chocolate shavings instead of chocolate. And they also pour a perfect Guinness every day.

One of those places that I have nothing extremely negative or positive to say. Never had a terrible meal, but nothing has ever wowed me or brought me back. Crowd at times can be very loud and obnoxious full of locals, especially in the summer when the outdoor bar is open. Service has always been efficient whether it was at a table or bar. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

I had their traditional Ruben Sandwich with there terrific pub fries. Not to busy for a Sunday after lunch. More people enjoying eying on their deck and watching the game. My Ruben was very good with«real corned beef’ no deli style corned beef. Clean, pleasant quick service, clean restroom. I worth coming back. Good value.

We had dinner here last night. We’re from Brooklyn, New York. We ordered lobster roll and Dublin pie. We were blown away. Their food is so delicious and just well thought off. The lobster roll is so amazing it felt like it melted in my mouth. The pie tastes so fresh. On top of their wonderful food, the waitress was so nice and very friendly especially to our 10-month old boy. Great service overall. It’s a warm and kind place for tourists like us. Kudos!

We sat outside and had a very nice view. The food was very good. We had the shepards pie and the chicken pot pie! Both came out pipping hot and were delicious! Definitely will come back!

We had the stuufed quahogs which were excellent. They were crunchy on the outside and soft inside. I had the lobster roll, which had very little mayo. The service was good.

Solid food. Quiet on a weekday lunch also. Server came right out to get me seated and the food arrived as if they knew I just wanted lunch so I could get back to work. Good place.

Used to go here a lot, my buddy that lived near here moved away so I sort of forgot about it but I happened to be in the area last week and stopped in for a couple of pints and a sandwich. Lots of choices for beers and good pub food. So nothing had changed but in this case, that was a good thing. I’ll be back for sure.

Great pub food and great selection of beer. Pricing is very reasonable for the high quality product. My favorite is the fish rueben.

When you are offered a spicy lamb burger, you take it! My wife got the lamb burger and I didn’t and I regretted it. After getting one bite I was hooked and can’t wait to go back. The fries were thick steak fries and different but good. There are so many beers on tap! There’s definitely something for everyone among their 101 options. The waitress was so friendly and helpful, and even took the time to suggest a specialty beer to my wife.

My home away from home! Seriously I kind of live here. My word of advice is to get the Rueben, get a Guinness and try the daily bread pudding.

What a pleasant place! The warm woodwork and warm greetings. A true pub feel. I went alone so I sat at the bar, the full menu was available. In true pub fashion there was a friendly feel from the regulars once I sat and ordered a pint of the freshest Newcastle draught I have had in years. The barmaids were bright and cheerful and made helpful recommendations. There is a huge selection of beers and whiskeys for all tastes. I went with fish and chips and wasn’t disappointed. A large piece of fresh fish with hand cut chips. The mandatory tartar sauce and cole slaw were present(why no mushy peas?) but so was that salt and vinegar. The batter was light, everything was fried just right too. Dessert was a choice(for me) between apple pie and bread pudding. After consulting with the barmaid I went with her recommendation, the apple pie(strawberry — banana bread pudding?) and a cup of coffee. The pie was fresh, the crust was great; dollops of whipped cream, caramel drizzle and a small scoop of vanilla ice cream brought it all together. In short, if I lived here this would be my regular place for a point and for supper out.

Aiden’s is on numerous internet lists as being«dog friendly» but when we went with our 15lb dog we were told we would have to tie him up on the sidewalk, off of their patio. Not only was the sidewalk 5 feet away from where we would have been sitting(which our dog would have been vocally unhappy about) it was also directly in the hot sun. There was no way we could stay there. I have had many great experiences at Aiden’s over the years so I hate to give them a bad rating, but I wanted to let dog owners know that this is not a dog friendly establishment.

We used to be regulars at Aidan’s years ago but had a visit right after the renovation that was SO bad on every level that we didn’t return until now. It was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon and this place was packed. We were seated promptly. That was the end of «promptly». When a restaurant is this busy I always expect things to move at a much slower pace. This was a bit beyond that and our service was just odd. We did eventually have a server come over with menus. My husband really liked the craft beer menu. I went with a glass of Chardonnay and also asked for a glass of water. Drink prices were definitely reasonable. After a bit of a wait a different waitress brought my husband’s beer and asked if I wanted a glass of water to drink. I told her what I had ordered and off she went. After a while she came back with my drink. Our waitress eventually showed up and took our order. We started with the pork potstickers which are on the summer specials menu. They were delicious. I ordered a cup of the RI clear broth clam chowder. It was an embarrassment to all RI chowders. I thought it was a chicken soup at first because that’s what it tasted like! After closely looking I did confirm that it was little pieces of clam, not chicken, but it REALLY tasted like chicken soup… and not a good one. At this point our server seemed to disappear. I really don’t know what was going on, but our service continued to go downhill with long waits between taking drink refill orders, them being delivered, etc. For entrees I ordered the shrimp and spinach salad. It was ok, but nothing really special. The waitress had asked if I wanted the dressing on the side. I said yes, but the dressing was served on the salad. My husband ordered the salmon from the summer specials menu, but received the salmon from the regular menu. He thought it was ok. We didn’t bother bringing the issues to our server’s attention as she was absent and when in the area seemed very frazzled. She did rally to come by, ask if we wanted dessert, we declined, and bring the check. If I were to return to Aidan’s it would probably be for drinks only. I may give Aidan’s another shot for a meal in the off-season when it is a little less busy.

Came here with friends and was amazed at the quality, price and amount of food they give you! Service was great, atmosphere comfortable. Did I mention the bloody marys? Fresh made. I’m not one for bloody marys as a general rule, but I thought this one the perfect mix of spicy, and frankly, I thought it was better than most. A friend ordered the fish and chips, and it was humongous! Vegetarians fear not as there are a couple of things on the menu we can eat too. All in all a great lunch! P. s. The nachos were ok, better than most I have had, but they still have that huge gloppy mess in the center that when you get to the bottom of the plate gets kinda gross. One last thing, the lettuce and onion should be free when you get a burger. I almost want to take away a star for charging 75 cents for those things, but I had a good meal, so I didn’t.

I’ve been here for drinks a million times, but only got around to trying the pub fare recently. Not too shabby. It’s an old pub with two floors, lots of exposed wood and hardwood floors. It’s quite nice inside and they have a fireplace in the front dining room. The upstairs is more of an overflow area with a second bar and a karaōke/dancing area. During the summertime, the put in a tiki bar outside too. SOMANYBEERS. 101 of them to be exact, and they have a lot of good selections on tap. I don’t think there’s another bar in Bristol that has the selection that they do. If you’re here for drinks, you’ll have a great time. They are always well staffed behind the bar, have great offerings and serve a good, stiff mixed drink. However, if you’re coming for food, it’s a mixed bag. The service is young, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but there’s some apathy and standing around/socializing that goes along with that, and I’ve definitely seen it here on more than one occasion. Our waiter at lunchtime was nice and very attentive, and I had no complaints about him. The hostess though, tried to seat us at a really awkward table even though there were plenty of others available. It was basically on top of a couple trying to have a nice date, so we asked to move. It was kind of a non-issue, but that’s not the first place I would have thought to seat someone. Some food was great, but most was just okay. I had the bangers and mash, and the sausages were awesome! It was very crispy on the outside with a light maple flavor and I loved it. The beans and gravy were average and the potatoes had a little too much butter in them. My mom got The Limerick sandwich and it was basically just a grilled cheese with stuff on it and not really anything special. The thick-cut chips that it came with were really good though, and I had to steal a couple. Nice bar, awesome beers, great location, alright food and alright service. A-ok, I like it!

Aidan’s Pub pours just about the prettiest Guinness I’ve seen outside of the UK, and that’s fitting since this place is pretty authentic, down to the Fish ‘n’ Chips, corned beef on rye and even a house beef stew. Throw in a stone hearth with a roaring fire on a blustery December day and I felt a bit like James Joyce. The service is warm and professional, the ambience is cozy and comfy, and the food is pretty dang good, although I do wish I’d opted for the sweet ‘tater fries rather than the thick-cut regular chips. They’re out of this world and heaps healthier. The turkey club is absolutely delicious — not so huge that you can’t get my mouth around it, and full of flavor and an especially delicious portion of smokey turkey tha’ts not at all over-cooked or gamey. The bread is toasted to perfection and the dressing, lettuce and bacon work together to bring all the flavors out. So delicious, Apparently is can get rowdy in here in the evenings, but I was here for lunch with quite a civilized crowd, which is impressive considering it’s a waterfront pub in Bristol. Worth a visit, for sure!

Came in for an early lunch before a Unilocal Elite event in the neighborhood. I went with the Aidan’s Club. The bacon on the sandwich was cold, overly greasy, and even had chunks of congealed fat on it. After picking the bacon off my sandwich and attempting to eat it, the sandwich was bland and flavorless. I was beyond disgusted with my order. 2 stars for the view from the deck on a gorgeous day, and the service was pretty attentive. I wish we were just going out for drinks.
