I would highly recommend this as an alternative to some of the larger places on the water. It’s not as fancy, but to me that’s just fine. The service was terrific, with our waitress being very friendly and helpful. The beer selection was OK, nothing to write home about and a little unusual for a Pub. But the ones they did have were decent. Our food was fantastic. We had Scallops and Tuna with their secret sauce, which was outstanding. Definitely try their wedge fries… very good and a lot of them. Not a huge coleslaw fan, but they have one that has a real nice kick to it. Try that as well. The only reason for 4 verses 5 stars was the list of things they didn’t have on a Friday night. Things that you would assume are staples on their menu, were unavailable. Just kind of odd and not really sure what it means. And these items weren’t anything we wanted, so no harm no foul. But still… Try this place, you won’t be disappointed.

I love the admiral, everyone who works their is great and it’s super reasonable price wise and the food is great. Sometime they’re short staffed but it’s always still great.

Again we had the scallops wrapped in bacon and again they were delicious. Chicken was good along with the their ceasar salad with parm shavings. Home made Cole slaw with horseradish. very good. Everything homemade and always with a twist. The wait from app to dinner is getting a little too long. Maybe if we just ordered dinner the wait would be reasonable. All in all good dinner.

Can’t understand the reviews that were les than raving. Service was great… And it was a busy Saturday night. Food was amazing. I had a swordfish BLT with sweet potato fries. My wife had panko scrod with roasted mixed vegetables. We were surprised and elated at how good the food was. Prices were excellent for the quality of the food. Do yourself a favor and try this place!

I just had a fantastic meal here tonight. Started off with zippy wings. Absolutely ridiculous. Get them. For dinner I had the Marsala burger which was awesome. It was on a Portuguese bolo roll with bacon and shrooms. Cooked perfectly, it was delicious! Also had clams zuppa in white broth which was yummy. Chop salad was pretty good. For desert we had their homemade mud pie with fresh whipped cream. Yum! The place is nothing fancy but offers good, honest, unpretentious food. Bartender was super friendly. Overall s great time!

This place has the worse kitchen exhaust system in the state, you can smell the grease and fry smell in the parking lot. After an hour I smelled liked old fryolator oil, had to drive with the windows down to alleviate the reek. Sat at the bar and after watching the goings on in the open kitchen we decided to only split a pizza that was underwhelming to say the least. The one star is for the bartender, she was by far the only star in this place.

So… six of us had planned to go to The Square Peg down the street. It would have been a 45 min wait so we took a walk to Admiral’s. We got seated right away. That should have been a sign. It didn’t start off bad. The waitress came to the table promptly. We ordered beers. Then it took a while for her to return for our app order. Then took even longer to return for our entrée order. At that time we also ordered another round of beers(didn’t want to wait). The place started to get really smokey. The smoke alarm went off. No one moved. They open some windows and we sat, we drank, we laughed. The smoke alarm went off again, and again. An hour later we got our burgers all of which were over cooked. Two orders of a marsala burger had no marsala on it. We had to ask the waitress and she went and got a side of marsala to put on the burnt burger. So, this is what we get for not wanting to wait 45 min at the Square Peg! live and learn. This was my first time there and probably will not be back.

Just returned from the Admiral for the first time. Food was good but service was so-so .Asked for some lemon wedges with our app & never got them. But the worst part was the large table with 6 kids & about 6 adults. The adults were good but the 4 older boys-ages 7−9− were obnoxious!!! They were running up & down the stairs continuosly, shouting loudly with absolutely no intervention from the parents. This is not a large place so it was particulary annoying. We do not expect a quiet atmosphere at a pub but this was out of control. As a matter of fact we really enjoy a pub atmosphere & menu, but this was over the top. We did bring it to our servers attention but she just said it is not usually like that & we suggested hat management should take control. We will return because the food was good, but if we have a similar experience it will be our last.

This was the second time in my life that I did not tip a server. It was 15 minutes before we received a menu and 45 minutes before I received a black and tan. When the waitress brought the drink to the table there was no apology she put it on the table and turned away immediately running from any impending confrontation. Which I would not have made! The table next to us, who arrived after we had, finished eating before our food order was even taken. When our meal finally arrived there was no explanation as to the delay and I had to literally jump at the opportunity to ask for a bottle of catchup before the server was on her way. We never saw the server again until I flagged her down for the bill. Never once did she ask if we wanted another drink or if everything was okay. It was not a busy evening there and we were very civil considering the service we were receiving. The food well let’s just say they have no right calling it an English pub. Other than fish and chips there is not one thing on the menu that could be described as English pub food. I’ve lived in nearby for 12 years and this is the first time we ventured to this destination and the last. If you want good pub food go to the Congress Tavern in Providence. Night and day compared to this, for lack of a better word, establishment.

Went for a friday night dinner with the wife. Started with the zippy shrimp and chowder, couldnt believe $ 3 each for a grilled shrimp. Love the zippy sauce so got a few and they were great. The chowder was good but different, lots of big potatoes not too many clams and hAd a ingredient i just couldnt figure out. We shared the tuna entrée which doesnt come with any side so we got veggies for a extra $ 3.50. It was probably the worst piece of tuna i have ever had. Ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well. We almost had to use a knife to cut it, it was so tough my jaw was tired by the time i was done. Love the zippy sauce but can live without as well as The Admiral. Will not return!!!

My experience with the Admiral has been so so. The first time I brought my family there we ordered chicken parm for four. After a long wait in a very noisy restaurant, we got four chicken Parm dinners that you couldn’t cut with a serrated knife. We sent them back, paid for our drinks and went to the Country Inn. I went back some months later and got scallops while my friend got a Marsali burger. They used the fish and chips batter on my scallops! I had to crack them open like walnuts and the little sea scallops would fall out. I couldn’t eat the batter. My friend liked her Marsali burger and I think I ate half her fries. I used to eat Marsali burgers from Bullocks by the plate full like Whimpy. I probably should have had that and I might not have felt so buggered! Well, they say it’s an English pub right? Well, Rogered in the old cheerio then! The place was blaring loud. The service was slow, and there were three drunk guys at the bar who wouldn’t stop yelling. I couldn’t wait to get out of the place. The guys rode their bicycles there and had no plans of driving home. They announced to us all! Swell, now I know there is no chance You’ll be leaving before us! I think there is a time when management should step in and cut off the tap. I’m not paying to sit in your restaurant to listen to three drunk guys howl, yell, and speak loud enough that my date and I couldn’t hear each other from a foot away. Loud drunks and laughing idiots rank right up there with screaming children for putting a damper on my evening. Both times, I had major issues with my food. Service was painfully slow, and the place was uncomfortably cramped and loud. Not for me!

Hm, so… we ate here on accident by talking too much and accidentally entering the wrong door instead of Tav Vino down below. It was OK though, we figured we’d get some apps and then get real dinner afterward. But then, the menu looked good so we decided to stay. P and I both got steaks. I have to say, for $ 20 bucks, they weren’t great, they were basically breakfast steaks. If you’ve ever gotten steak and eggs, it was that kind of steak. Same size, texture, etc. plus marinade. And I hate pooping on a small biz but our waitress raved about them so we got them, and, well, yeah. The service was friendly and the wings were good. Our friend got the salmon burger and he liked it. So maybe when you come here just stick to the pub fare and you’ll be fine.

This is still a solid 3 stars. It can be hard to find as the sign is small and the Pub is located a bit off the road. It shares a building and parking lot with Tav-Vino. Because of that, the parking lot is often full and you will need to find street parking. It’s small inside with a lot of darker wood. It can fill up fast and there were only a few open seats on a recent Tuesday night. They have a decent draft beer selection along with seasonal specialty cocktails and wine. The menu offers a lot of the standard pub options along with a few entrees. On our latest visit we had the buffalo tenders. There were four very large tenders in the order and they were good. The blue cheese dressing was a bit odd. It tasted like ranch dressing that they added blue cheese chunks to. It was a bit different that it had been on previous visits. They have a large burger menu and in the past I have substituted a turkey burger to make it slightly healthier. You can also order vegetables at a side instead of fries for a small charge. Unfortunately they were out of turkey burgers the night we went. They also ran out of the wine I was drinking after the first round. I ended up ordering the littleneck pizza, which was really tasty. My husband ordered the salmon and got an enormous piece. Service can be slow and spotty at times while at other times service is great. Once in a while the smoke and smells from the kitchen will overwhelm the dining area. It’s a decent option for the area. While we aren’t regulars, we do visit occasionally for a change of pace.

The Admiral Pub is a pretty solid choice for dining in Warren and I feel this should be more like 3.5 stars. I do wish that they had more draft beers to choose from, UK-style of course. They do make up for this though with many choices, seasonal and selected, of bottled beers. Regardless, I find myself sipping two or more Hobgoblin dark milds during my visits. I have not had wine here but they seem to have good choices and there are always interesting mixed-drink concoctions. I feel like I could visit for a session just for drinks and have a great time. There is a nice offering of pub style food and appetizers. I always find myself getting the Zippy Grilled Salmon, a tasty and huge portion, which is more than satisfying. Additionally they offer nice burgers where you can substitute turkey for beef if they have the turkey available. One side note — sometimes parking can be a bit tight though you can usually park somewhere on the street. Finally, it is always enjoyable, and one of our frequent destinations.

Service is a little slow, but tolerable. Otherwise a great place. Beer choices were extensive. Loved the wings with“Zingy” sauce. Simple pub foods and great burgers and sandwiches. Nice entrée choices although we had the marsala burger and the steak sandwich, both were fantastic. There is a good choice of sides and a few different fries. We had the sweet potato and the pub fries. Simple and fun with a bit of upscale flavor. Very reasonable prices.

I can’t say enough about the Boatswains burger at the admiral. There are times I crave the burger so intensely that temporary blindness sets in. I love the english muffin as the bun. man, I’m getting hungry just writing about it. The fries are good, not great. They always have a good draught beer selection. I think Hob Goblin is the one I usually get. it’s the funky looking pull-handle on the left. In addition the place is a little smokey, I like the smell but a little less smoke would be nice. Seating is limited and there are a few oddly place support poles that wold be better if gone… Aesthetically anyways… I’m sure they have a job to do. The smallness of The Admiral is part of the coziness that I like however. Ok, now I’ve done it… think I need to go get a Boatswains burger now.

The Admiral is an alright place to eat. The food is good, but the menu is a little small. It’s great for pub food, but I wouldn’t order the fancier dishes being that it is a pub. It’s better to stick with what you know they’re good at. Draft beer selection could use a little more selection, but what they have isn’t bad either. Staff and bartender are all extremely friendly and the service is great. My biggest problem with this place is the business hours they hold. I can’t tell you how many times I have tried this place for dinner on an idle Wednesday, Thursday, or Monday(just throwing out random days here) and the place was closed, it made no sense. Why would a place be closed on a Wednesday evening? Because the place always seemed to be closed whenever we wanted to go there we have since chosen other options to avoid such a hassle. If you do plan on going here, call ahead to make sure they are open. Food itself is good though so I do recommend… as long as they are open.

The Admiral’s a decent local spot for a burger and a beer, popular with families. Nice big booths, wood-y, dim lighting. Table service s l o w as molasses… They add the«New» into English pub with fab clamcakes the size of a small fist. Not a whole lot going on draft-wise; the usual suspects plus a couple of English ales, which I didn’t really dig(flat) but that may just be a personal preference. Comfortable spot; will definitely give it another go.

Used to be Tav Vinos in Warren RI(now Tav Vino is the section down by the water and the Admiral is the back end.) The menu is a mix of English Pub grub and the casual side of the old Tav Vino menu. Good selection of English beers and some craft brews. A few interesting tap selections(Hobgoblin Ale, Monty Python Holy Grail Ale) and decent food. The burger I’ve had was great — some of the other selections are just ok. Nice spot on the water in Warren — worth a try.
