Kobe Japanese Steakhouse

The last visit was very odd. Our cook kept looking toward the door throughout preparation of our meal. He seemed worried or afraid (?) This was unsettling, no jokes or even a smile. The food was also not very good. Ive eaten there many times and have been pleased. This last time doesnt make me want to go back.

This was ok. Nothing grand, but wasn’t terrible either.
The place looked like it could use an upgrade, it had a really old feel to it.
But the cook was funny, and everybody was nice and very friendly.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody, the food all had the same taste. The chicken tasted like shrimp, etc.
overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience, but probably won’t be coming back.

Always really good hibachi style Japanese food here! Can’t go wrong. Really nice atmosphere, and the cooks are interactive and make the experience enjoyable. The soup they serve at the start of your meal is incredible-​and the yaki and chicken is our favorite meat choice!

Great food. I love the chicken and rice and I also love the carrots. The soup is really good and the service is also great. Only down side is that you might have to wait a while fill up the table.

Glad to have stumbled upon this restaurant. Very friendly staff and good food! Ordered the yakiniku. For those of you not familiar w yakiniku, it is marinated japanese sliced beef and it comes with soup or salad, two grilled shrimps (fresh not frozen!) and fried rice. All for $ 9.95! They have larger entrée options for those of you with healthy appetites. Ya, it took a little bit to prepare, but worth it. Food was served fresh and hot of the grill.
Giving this place 5 stars because this place deserves to be on the map… best Japanese steakhouse within a 60 mile radius. Believe me, I’ve already tried several in Marion and Wytheville. This will definitely be my go-​to for the duration of my stay in Abingdon, VA!

Worst Japanese steakhouse I have ever been too. They season the steak, shrimp, vegetables, chicken with soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. That’s it! No wasabi either. Service is horrible one waitress for the whole restraunt. Only gave it a star because I had too.

I have be a pleased costumer of Kobe for many years… excellent food, great service, and an amazing atmosphere. Tonight it saddens me to say that they have fallen short of that standard. While, the food in sure will be excellent… the service is the worst I have ever received, in many years… the wait staff should be multipled in size 3 fold… I am sad to say that I will not be returning… unless I call my food in!!!
