Here we were, just a couple of old time fiddlers, who wondered into this place, looking for something to eat. Lenora greeted us at the bar with such a wonderful smile and as so pleasant to talk too. We ordered the Cajun grilled chicken sandwich without the bun, with roasted red peppers, cheddar cheese and Cajun aioli. Jamie, the cook, prepared a delicious sandwich that was packed full of flavor. You can count on our return if we ever find ourselves traveling through Bristol Connecticut again. Thank You for such a pleasant mid day experience.

I came to pick up a BLT pizza for dinner and had a drink while I waited. First the pizza was amazing, I ate it all and hated myself for it but enjoyed every bite. I’m severely obese. However the staff, Amanda and Lenora were so sweet I ended up having a couple drinks and lost track of time. I highly recommend the food and pizza, the drinks are made better than anywhere else and the staff is on fleek

Joint # 89: LEGENDS, Bristol, CT. Legends Sports Bar has only recently been advertising and cooking up hot dogs(along with the usual pub fare). They have two very large signs in front of the joint that advertise this stating«Famous Michigan Dogs.» I was driving by one day, noticed the signs and made it a point to gather J. Diggity and head over for couple dogs. RATINGS:… J. Diggity Dog: 7.5÷10, Dog Man Sac: 8⁄10. J. Diggity said, «We were here for the dogs, Michigan-style. The meat sauce, mustard and it seemed like it was a thinly-sliced, it wasn’t diced, it was a shredded onion. It was good. It was a Martin Rosol’s, Inc. dog, the thing was almost a footlong. Natural casing. Griddled. It was good. The meat sauce was good, wasn’t spicy. Didn’t have a ton of flavor, but it was good nonetheless for just a meat sauce I thought. I think the bun was just a little bit over toasted. I don’t know, I picked up a weird flavor, I don’t know if that was from the grill, I have no idea. But, I still liked the dog. Like I said, it didn’t have the spice I was looking for. I’m going with a 7 and a half here for Legends.» Dog Man said, «This dog was interesting. They advertise it as a ‘Michigan Sauce Dog,’ which if you know anything about the Michigan-style sauce, it’s a very fine meat sauce. There was no spice in this sauce unfortunately. We both prefer spice. The bun was a New England-Style toasted. J. Diggity told you that there was some interesting flavors going on. Perhaps they collected from the grease and such o the griddle? The dog itself, actually it was cooked pretty nicely. It was a good temperature. It was piping hot. I really liked the onion — the shredded onion. But what I did not prefer, again was the lack of spice and the strange flavors that we kept getting. So Legends today, is going to get an 8.0, Dog Man Sac-style and we’ll see you soon!»

I’ll first start by saying this would have been a 4 star review but sadly, by the end of my evening there, I had to inform the bartenders that a drunk patron on the bathroom floor absolutely needed medical attention. But before the police and ambulance arrived, I actually was pleasantly surprised by the place. Given its location, I expected a lot less. Food was decent, they had my favorite on tap(Blue Moon) and the bar staff was great. Disclaimer, parking sucks as does the road it’s on, but good atmosphere overall.

Legends is stuck in a pretty terrible location — right on Pine Street with little if any parking of its own. The few times I’ve gone there I had to park on the sketchy side street next to the bar, which is always a good way to start things off. The inside is nothing spectacular, although they do have a couple ping pong tables(to play actual ping pong, not the college«pong» game) and I like playing ping pong, so that’s a plus. I also never though I’d use the phrase«ping pong» three times in one sentence before. They claim to be famous for their«Michigan dogs» which I think is just a regular chili dog, but then again I’ve never tried it. Speaking of which, Legends has won a couple«best of» awards for food in Bristol, but I’ve yet to try anything outside of beer there. Perhaps sometime I’ll give Legends more of a chance and get food there, but for now it’s just A-OK and just another divey sports bar in a town with a bunch of them.

Legends Sports Bar in Bristol, CT literally has the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. They imposed a $ 15.00 minimum sur charge which is illegal in the state of Connecticut(Statute: Conn. Gen. Stat. Ann. § 42−133ff(a)(West)). When I confronted the bar owner, he told me to «take my business elsewhere or contact a lawyer»…It’s great to see small business owners value my hard earned $$$. If you don’t believe me, head on down to the establishment and try to buy one beer with your debit card… then look at all the $ 15.00 minimum posts on the walls …
