Call before you go to make sure they are open. We went twice and they were closed both times. I tried calling a couple times after and still not open. Today they were finally open when we tried to go. Was looking forward to some good fried chicken. I was told King Fried Chicken had some good fried chicken but it was nothing special. I bought a coupon to use during my visit but was informed they don’t take the coupons even though I just bought it. The fried chicken was average at best. The mashed potatoes were almost inedible since there was way to much pepper the potatoes had so much pepper they were grey! Will stick with KFC for future fried chicken cravings.

Kings Fried chicken sure beats KFC or Popeye. The coating had just a hint of spiciness, the skin crispy and the meat was deliciously moist. Some pieces didn’t have a lot of meat but nice mix of breast, thigh, drumsticks and wings in the 15 piece I got. The mashed potatoes with gravy were just OK but the cole slaw was excellent and not your typical dixie style food processed version. The prices were quite reasonable. I like this place and will be back … once my LDL drops back to normal levels.

OMG! This fried chicken is DELICIOUS! Rico, the proprietor, could not have been a more helpful young man. He gave us INCREDIBLE beans and rice with our fried chicken, instead of french fries… mmmm…mmmmm…GOOD! We got coco bread while we were waiting and he toasted it for us and gave it to us fresh off the grill. The beans or the rice or the chicken could be a stand alone meal in itself. Granted, people may feel it’s «sketchy» because it’s connected to a gas station(I went to get gas there, too — $ 2.69/gallon), but you will NOT be disappointed when you try it. The Columbian flavor to everything put it over the top… AND the price is right!

Located in one-fourth of a building otherwise occupied by a convenience store, King Fried Chicken is a small, unassuming joint offering up a simple menu of chicken, fish, and sandwiches, along with typical side items. Nothin’ fancy on the inside… a counter in front of the open kitchen, and a few tables. Not really a huge fried chicken fan, but their fried chicken here is delicious. Hot and crispy, with a lightly seasoned batter. Both times I’ve had it the chicken has been done very well… crispy on the outside and very moist on the inside. They have several meal deals, which feature combinations of chicken with fries, or a burger or other sandwich with fries. The meal deal comes with a soda, and is very reasonably priced. Just got a 3 piece chicken with a generous portion of hot and crispy fries with a soda for 7 bucks. I’ve had the burger a couple of times as well. Not as good as the chicken, but still a very decent option. Wish they would cook it medium-rare for me, but I understand why they don’t. The guys behind the counter are very friendly, and love chatting up with their customers. Like I said, nothing fancy about this place… just straight forward good food at a very good price, cooked and served by some good guys.
