Had a great date night with my wife. The staff was attentive and friendly and the food was great. I had the stuffed chicken while my wife had the steak. Dessert was awesome.

I haven’t try one dish that I dislike so far, and the sangria OMG, the service number one!!!

The food here is absolutely AMAZING. Every time I go I try a different dish and not one has failed me. Their sangria is great highly recommend. There is only one down side to this restaurant and that is space. Really small but that’s part of what makes this place so intimate. Wish they could expand.

Always excellent and delicious. Specials each day are indeed special and the regular menu has something for every mood. Friendly, professional staff, fair pricing, warm atmosphere and food worth eating add up to a very nice meal.

This is our go to Italian restaurant in Riverdale. My mom loves going there for Mother’s Day and her birthday(only two times that we really go). It’s always packed so luckily mom likes having dinner early otherwise we’d definitely have to wait. Everything we’ve had has be super yummy, no complaints. As a matter of fact, my mom loves her soup to be super hot and they’ve never disappointed. It’s definitely small and cozy, wait staff is hit or miss I have to say but more hits and less misses. It’s definitely a neighborhood type of restaurant with lots of regulars who know everyone. I will definitely continue to go there.

Ok food, a little doughy, brusque service. Lots of Italian restaurants to choose from, if it wasn’t in NY this place would rate higher.

I guess this is a lesson for us all. The food is spectacular when dining in however I do not recommend take out. I arrived home 15 mins later and the pasta lacked sauce and tasteless. :(The service manager seemed rushed and preoccupied when she took my order. :(

This is a cozy neighborhood restaurant with good food and a comforting old-school ambiance. In terms of the appetizers, my dining companions raved about the stuffed mushrooms. I ordered the fresh mozzarella, which is skippable. My entrée, the Chicken Francese was yummy and my husband enjoyed Tuscan meatballs with marinara sauce. According to our friends, the ravioli is excellent. The cheesecake exceeded my expectations. There are no mixed drinks, so your options are beer and wine. The prosecco was just okayish but served in a big glass, which is a plus. I preferred the Chianti. The downside was the service. There was a bit of confusion about who was to be seated first, and another party was seated first despite the fact that we were told we’d be getting that table. The bar is minuscule, so you can’t wait there and have to go outside or just hover. I found the server to be brusque. Despite some gripes, I’ll go back. There are items on the menu that I’d like to try; the pear salad looks like it would be up my alley. I don’t know that I’d introduce it to friends until it rates that extra star, but it is fine for a casual date night because it’s within walking distance.

Amazing Italian place. Nice homemade style Italian. It’s not fancy but it’s very cute and cozy restaurant. Their pear salad is amazing. Their meatballs are a must. Very light, flavorful and huge!!! Also, try their lasagna as well. I had carbonara recently and it was outstanding. Whatever you get here, they never disappoints you.

Amazing! Been here twice and both times food and service was amazing! My boyfriend even said it was the best chicken parmesan he’s had in NYS!

Had the chicken parm and it was great. Nice setting and good service. Wasn’t that pricey at all area, a great choice in the riverdale area.

Cute little restaurant in Riverdale with great food and atmosphere. The pasta is home made and all the entrees I’ve had so far are really really good, just as good or better than any restaurant in the NYC or Arthur Ave. And did I mention the prices are reasonable too and great customer service as well.

I’ve seen a few reviews that are critical of this excellent neighborhood Italian restaurant, and assume that maybe there is a new chef in the loop. But I disagree wholeheartedly that the food quality has dropped. I’ve been coming here, on and off, for many years. It’s been a solid go-to moderately priced Italian bistro — in fact consistently one of Riverdale’s best bet. This time, however, I could not help but note that the food was a step above, which was a very pleasant surprise. First, let me say that compared to the bevy of mediocre eateries in So. Riverdale, on Johnson Avenue, this place nails it. Let me explain. The parking is rarely an issue on Mosholu, like it is sometimes on Johnson Avenue. In fact, it has never ceased to amaze me that despite all the robust competition for the Riverdale dining patron, on Johnson Avenue, the overall quality of food is abysmal. And all the more amazingly bad, considering that we’re in NYC, and so close to fantastic dining options around this great City. Yet somehow, over the years, nobody has ever turned out a decent product in Riverdale. That is, until tonight. We came to Beccofino almost in surrender, hoping for at least decent food with competent service. What we got instead was two cuts above that. The salads were crisp, with very good quality food ingredients, served chilled, and generously proportioned. The Cesar had very authentic dressing, and the arugula salad that came with my Mom’s veal Scaloppini was great! I ordered the baked Rigatoni Norcia($ 16), with sweet and hot sausage, ricotta cheese, mushrooms and marinara sauce. It was great. The pasta was cooked perfectly, firm to the tooth, and the entrée, as all of them, was served steaming hot. I really like and appreciate that! The marinara sauce was totally authentic, and perfectly balanced. I can’t imagine a better pasta dish if you’re in the mood for a hardy home made meal! It will satisfy even a very hungry athlete, in my opinion! My wife’s fresh salmon($ 24) was wild, not farm raised, and the side of veggie was fresh and flavorful. The outside was just slightly crunchy from the grill or broiler, encrusted with oven dried tomatoes and warm Dijon sauce and the inside was tender and moist. Flavor was excellent! My mom ordered the Veal Scaloppini($ 22), which was very tender and flavorful, with a hint of sherry, and the portion was huge for a fine veal dish! Mom took half home after having her fill, and will enjoy a full lunch of it tomorrow! The service was friendly, natural, and efficient. We never felt ignored or rushed. Our server was a bit young, but she tried really hard, and left nothing undone. She was present whenever we need service, and prompt, as was the bus boy. Very professional, yet friendly. We also give them high marks for ambiance. It’s a great blend of cozy and romantic, admitting that’s I’m a traditionalist that loves checkered table clothes, candle light, and even the restrained use of mini-Christmas lights for a touch of festiveness. The patina of the old brick walls makes the whole feel very warm and inviting. Beccofino is definitely the best overall restaurant experience in Riverdale, and yet remains moderately priced. Most all the entrees are in the«teens» and into the low-20’s, well below similar fine food in Manhattan. Thanks Beccofino for trying so hard, and being even better after all these years of consistency ! Bravo!

We’ve been several times and just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary here yesterday. Specials and classic dishes are superb. We have never had anything overcooked or undercooked. Food is brought out timely and entrees are coordinated perfectly with you eating your appetizer(I hate when you get both at the same time or in quick succession). The staff is always friendly and efficient. Spaghetti and meatballs are outstanding and taste homemade. This place expertly does seafood, chicken, and beef. The décor is modern and elegant. Do yourself a favor and try this place.

This place used to have excellent Italian food. Because it’s in my neighborhood, I frequented it for years — however the quality of the food has declined dramatically over time. I assume they have a new executive chef. Most recently, I went with my parents; we ordered seafood risotto, lasagna and pear salad. The risotto was undercooked and gummy. The lasagna was inedible as the tomato sauce had not been cooked down so it tasted very acidic and salty. It’s sad to say but I won’t be back to Beccofino.

Stopped in this Monday night on a friend’s recommendation. The food was great but the service was AWFUL. It honestly made it difficult to enjoy the meal. Our waitress, whose name I never heard, the one with the glasses, was not only inattentive but also extremely rude with a bad attitude. She seemed completely uninterested in our table and obviously more content to instead just chit chat and snicker with the bartender, comparing whatever was so hilarious on their phones, all throughout our meal. The behavior of the staff was so unprofessional that it actually distracted my wife and I from enjoying our dinner. I would give the place a 4⁄5 if food was the only criteria, but the horrible service made it a very solid 2.

I dined at this cute little place and had a very enjoyable experience. My boyfriend and I started off with a carafe of sangria, and I have to say it’s one of the best I’ve had! We shared a Caesars salad that tasted very fresh and was a great start to the meal. We then ordered two different pastas, both in vodka sauce, that were delicious. This place is reasonably priced for the quantity and quality of food they serve. The ambience and décor was adorable, and waitstaff was polite and helpful. We’re definitely coming back here for date night!

Super small but super cute and romantic. I had a cold seafood salad which was fresh and delicious. Gets really crowded but we only waited about a half hour at their tiny bar before we where seated. We weren’t rushed and service was adequate.
