This place is about as middle-of-the-road as it gets when it comes to Dominican steam tray places. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced, but it does not impress by any means. I took pretty big issue with the fact that that skin included with my pernil was soft and gummy rather than crispy. Also, there was a tragically small amount of beans included with my side of rice and beans.

Very relaxing, good quality food and drinks. Fast & hospitable attendants. And most important an awesome chef very serious about presentation and serving of foods. I would do this again.

This joint is good for take. For take out, not eating in. It’s a dive and not a place I’d dine in with my wife and daughter. If you plan on taking a date out or your spouse, this is not the place. If you’re ordering take out, no problem. I’d order take out from here any day. Food’s good. Not spectacular or special but good. Tons of parking off of Jackson if you’re driving. 6 train is right across the street. BX33 bus is right in front of the store and across the street by the 6 train as well.

I’m waiting for NY to put up the grading for this restaurant and if it’s anything higher than a F I am making a phone call and following up with a ANGRY letter! This restaurant is in the area of my home and I was excited when I first saw it because it’s a Dominican/Latin restaurant. I went in one morning for a authentic Dominican(salami) breakfast and I found a ROACH, enough said. Review OVER!

This place is just ok. Nothing spectacular. Food is delivered fast to you but the flavors are a bit off. Also with all the competition it has in this area you would think it’s alot better.

Going to eat at Caridad is like going to eat at Dallas BBQ. It’s a chain and it’s not that special but I do like Caridad better than BBQ. Used to have an ex that lived by here and we used to get food from here ALOT. There’s Caridads up and down the Heights but I’ve been to this one the most. There’s a section by the window that has the roast chicken and acapurria, fried stuff… ju know? And then they have the spaghetti, yellow/white rice, and beef stew by the front counters. I mostly get the chicharron de pollo(chicken nuggets but better) here(once again, boneless is the only way to go) ahhh so good. They give you a whole takeout container of rice. The cubano is also pretty good. I wanted to order a morir sonando which is orange juice, milk and heaven in a cup but they didn’t have at the time :(:(:(Everyone needs to try it!!! Lunch specials are priced really well and it’s usually packed with police officers from the nearest precinct and senior citizens that time of day. Oh and they serve alcohol too!!! :D I’ve never been here during the evening but I did see it on the menu! They have a jukebox spinning the latest or oldest bachata, boleros, and ballads for your listening pleasure. I’d suggest going to the Caridads in the Heights because they have more sitting space/countertop space.

This corner joint does mostly take-out– but they have a clean, if sparse, seating area. I believe it’s Dominican food. They have chickens roasting on rotisserie grills and UNBELIEVABLE plantains, rice and beans, etc., at lunch served cafeteria style. $ 6.50 gets you a drumstick and meaty breast of their roasted chicken(falls of the bone, so flavorful) on a bed of their rice and beans, along with a small side salad. It’s a chain, but doesn’t feel like it. Yum!
