One time the food was good. The other times it was bland. I’ve had much better Spanish food before.

This restaurant is horrible! Every time I order something is wrong, either sub par food, a ridiculously long wait, or a mistake. I honestly don’t know why I reorder from there. I guess I am always just hoping they will get it right because i cook everyday and sometimes need a break from the kitchen, but they never do! I rarely write reviews, but the last time I went there — mistakes again, I’ve had enough. Food is mediocre at best and they don’t know how to make Cuban sandwiches which really annoys me. Simple fact: a Cuban is pernil, ham, swiss, pickles and mustard on a garlic buttered hero. They never get it right!!! Cuban sandwiches don’t have lettuce and tomatoes and definitely not ketchup!!! They are also pressed. A Cuban isn’t a Cuban without being pressed on a hot grill. Every time they do this!!! It’s not hot at all, the cheese is never melted… they just do everything half a**…I waste my money every time. I can cook way better at home than this restaurant. There is no good Dominican food in Parkchester at all!!! My quest continues. If someone reading this knows how to cook and knows of good Spanish food in Parkchester please message me lol.

Good food and reasonable prices, it’s right next door to a little ceasars pizza. So I never really paid any mind to the place. But not only is it very unassuming the place serves liquor as well. The women who work there are very flirtatious and have great bodies. I am definitely looking to return.

I just tried the pernil over rice and beans… It was a decent food. Restaurant service was very wellcoming… They gladly accept credit card for small orders. Will recommend this place.

I just stopped in this evening for a quick bite to eat. Usually when it’s really late I prefer something hot to eat so I don’t feel like I’m having junk. That being said, I could hear the music from the bus stop so I knew they were open. I came in and was a little startled by how loud the music was. It would’ve been nice to have turned it down since other patrons were outside and I was inside, but I was there for food not atmosphere. The man behind the counter was pretty nice, although he seemed preoccupied at the time with something else. I took a menu and pointed to what I wanted since there was no way he would be able to hear me over the music. I told him I wanted the special with chicken, black beans and yellow rice. I also told him I would like two sides of garlic. He nods and said okay, so I paid him upfront. I swayed to the music as it tends to grow on you, even if it is loud. In a few minutes my food(at first I thought it was someone else’s) came out. I grabbed my bag and headed on my merry way. I just opened the bag a couple of minutes to go to find my order was wrong. The only thing right was the chicken. I have chicken, white rice, red beans and one single cup of garlic sitting in my fridge. Granted, they could have been out of black beans. Sure, things like that happen. Maybe even out of yellow rice, maybe. But it would have been nice to let me know(that music sure could’ve been a hindrance) that they were out and needed to make substitutions, but then again maybe they just were in a hurry and figured I wouldn’t mind. Extra garlic like I wanted would’ve also been nice. *sigh* I guess this was my first and last time coming in.

When this location first opened up, I would have given it 4 stars, the food was well prepared and taste. It certainly stood out from its local competitors. NOW… it gets barely 1 star as the last few times my family and I have ordered the food has become greasy, and just ordinary cuchifritos. Its far from cuisine and certainly not worth the cost $$$. My favorite item was the boneless chicken, now it has lost its restaurant quailty; its just chicken breast in flour… no special spices or battering technique, something any kitchen novice could pull off.

I wasn’t crazy about this place… Definitely not a place to sit down and eat. I had rabo and white rice(oxtail) and it was very bland. The food was also a little cold. I wouldn’t return.

There are some pros and cons to this restaurant. When I first entered with my father we hesitantly seated ourselves because when we first walked in the staff glanced at us and went back to doing what they were doing. We ended up ordering garlic shrimp with yellow rice and black beans. Also the chicken chunks with yellow rice and red beans and tostones on the side. The shrimp was very delicious but the rice, beans, and tostones were very bland. The chicken chunks also had no seasoning so I dipped it in ketchup to make it bearable to eat. Also throughout the meal the staff was having very loud side conversations. It was a bit annoying. I can’t see myself coming here on a regular basis. But the seafood is probably your best bet for whomever that wants to try this place out.

So we stumbled upon this place driving around trying to find somewhere to eat. It was totally spur of the moment and we didn’t plan on it. I can’t tell you how happy we were that we chose this place for dinner. The service was wonderful. The wait staff was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time we were there. The food was amazing. My husband is used to eating at El Valle and truthfully, I think there food is overrated and the service stinks. I had the Fried chicken chunks(chicharon de pollo sin hueso) and rice with red beans. My chicken was fresh and moist and better than I’ve had it any where else. My husband had the steak with onions(bistek encebollado) and the steak was tender and cooked to perfection. I would recommend this place a million times and to everyone I know. It is well decorated the music was great and to top it all off, they have a full bar. The name Latino Express doesn’t sum it up. I was expecting minimal food and service and instead left with the taste of authentic Spanish food that I can’t wait to go back for! Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!

Ordered from here for the first time tonight and the food was okay. We got the grilled chicken breast which came with salad and onions — really good. Also ordered the boneless fried chicken chunks which were decent but nothing spectacular. The rice and beans(red and black) lacked flavor but were great after a dash of salt and hot sauce. I gave them an extra star for the service since we forgot to order drinks and the guy was so accomodating over the phone. Delivery took a bit longer than expected but in all fairness, they were about to close. Decent, reasonably priced food. Would consider trying them again.

This is this place is a catch 22. this place is convenient for bronxites who lives in the parkchester, soundview, westfarms region that don’t want to cook. the difference between this place and a caridad is there food specials and space. when you walkin, you can order a number 1, rice red beans and chicken for a set price, cheap price. dominating dominican styles of cooking. nothing special about the menu other then the basics. I’ve been to this place more times then I actually checked in. this place is not location for appetizers. just a pick up and go. the best thing about this place is, unlike a caridad, THEYDELIVER! AYQUERICO!

Took my younger tax deductions(my kids) out for the pizza they’d been whining for one evening only to discover that a new restaurant had sprang up next door to the pizza shop.“Latino Express” I read. Time to investigate. It was small, but the quaint lighting seemed welcoming. Peering in I noticed bar seating and a few tables, hmm, the bar seating rose my hopes for a chance to swig something down that would calm my headache from my lil darlings’ 20 minute«we love pizza» chant during our travel. Sending the girls next door to order their pizzas, I was promptly greeted as I entered by a waitress working busily behind the counter preparing a large take-out order. She handed me a glossy print menu although the menu was posted on lit up boards over her head behind the bar. Nice service. MENUCATEGORIES Meats, Italian Plates(that’s right, ITALIAN), Seafood, Empanadas, Soups, Soupy Rice, Rices, Mofongo, Sandwiches, Salads, Juices, Shakes, Hot Beverages, Desserts, Breakfast, Combo Orders, and Mini Lunch Specials COMBOS range from $ 16 — $ 45 and are basically a meat selection with rice & beans, salad, plantains, and 2 liter soda DAILYLUNCH $ 5.95 with free soda until 4PM(may have to add a $ more depending on the meat you select with your meal). MINILUNCHSPECIAL $ 3.99−4pc chicken wings w French fries and salad BREAKFASTSPECIAL $ 3.99 includes home fries, 2 eggs and your choice of bacon, ham or sausage ATMOSPHERE&PORTIONS It was about 8PM when I was there. There were only 3 other dining customers but the take-out orders kept flying out of there. I decided on a steak combo and another chicken combo to go. The food look appetizing and the portions were large. I was happy as I’d noted that the prices were a dollar or two above the regular similarly styled restaurants I’ve visited. When my order was complete I was offered amenity choices: «Extra disposable plates and utensils?» Sure. «Extra dressing for your salad?» Why not and thank you. The only thing that caused me to frown in there was when I wanted to pay with my card and was told that I’d have to be charged tax(well that’s da law so no problem) My card refused to swipe so I ran out to the ATM. I handed over the cash and received a receipt where I later noticed the«tax» for paying by card had not been removed.(sigh) There was also no evidence of the swig of joy(alcohol beverage) I’d gone in search of in the 1st place to dull my headache, Frown and :( SUMMARY Nicely decorated place with personable staff Good(not great) food with large portions Double check about beers or wines(no evidence of them being served) Can’t really accommodate parties over 8 Good place to go for bargain breakfast or lunch Nice place for family dinner or a date TRANSPORTATION located near the 6 train to Parkchester Ave station or take the Q44 bus(it stops in front of the place) located right off the Cross Bronx Expressway. Parking is street side or you can park in the small parking lot directly in front if there is space.
