Well this place was a great disappointment. I was tricked by their 2 drink brunch special. I had the red velvet Belgian waffles with fried chicken strips. The waffles were barely red and the batter had no flavor(they were not sweet at all). It came with one half of a strawberry(I guess meant for presentation) and a bit of cream cheese sauce(could have been more of that). The waffle was also over cooked. The chicken itself was just barely cooked. The outside had a few burn marks but, the inside had that strange, almost raw, kind of texture. On top of it all, there wasn’t a pinch of salt on that chicken. Very bland. So, all-in-all I paid $ 16 for two mimosas. Shame. The server was quick and friendly, so I left him a good tip.

Wow! This place really is a gem. I was strolling with my fiancé in Parkchester and we ran into Step In. We sure did! :) This place isn’t what I will call a lounge but it is a beautiful restaurant. The décor and seating is very beautiful and gives off wonderful vibes here. The music is wonderful. And the food is DELICIOUS!!! We order the Garlic Parmesan wings for an appetizer. Cooked to perfection. Crispy and delightful! For main courses my lady had the Castro and I had the New Orleans chicken sandwich. Fresh, hot and SLAMIN’!! Nothing was a disappointment. I even indulge in one of their drinks. Kentucky Orchard! So delicious and not cheap on the liquor at all! I will be returning here and spreading the word about this place. So glad I ran into it and it won’t be the last time I Step In! P.S our waiter was very sweet and kept everything refilled and was very quick. Also, clean and new bathroom. Love the walls.

I literally love this place. So grateful that it is walking distance from my apartment. Their drinks are amazing(the bartenders are NOT stingy with the liquor). Great place to go for a chill night and still have fun. The DJ is always on point. The food is amazing! They literally have whatever type of food you can think of. From breakfast, brunch and dinner. Wings to pasta to seafood. Plenty of drink specials! Karaōke on Monday nights. It’s great check it out.

Was finally able to Step In to this neighborhood place that I’ve been meaning to try. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. And my server was friendly But I just wish they use better quality ingredients for the food. I ordered the«Cajun Chicken Salad» and there was absolutely nothing Cajun or spicy about it. It was basically just fried chicken cutlet over lettuce tomato, and store bought cheddar cheese. YUCK Maybe I’ll give this place another chance but as of now I’m definitely unimpressed:/

I can’t begin to describe how amazing my meal was. I can just show pictures and hope they convince you enough to come in. Chef Joab is awesome! AWESOME! I think I was there for like 4 hours because of course, I enjoyed my meal with the Step in fishbowl and afterwards order the MANGOMAITAI. You MUST order the mango Mai tai. Chef Joab… see you for Brunch! The red velvet waffles are calling me!

Very nice place for drinks and appetizers. I would definitely come back again! Our waitress was very attentive. Nice vibes and mixed crowds. The drinks were strong and there wings and mozzarella sticks were great. I would definitely come back again when I am in the area!

This place is a gem! From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted. We went here for the Valentine’s dinner. Our waiter was very attentive. The main attraction was the food!!! OMG so good. executive Chef Joab out did himself. I started with the fried calamari with a creamy savory citrus dipping sauce. For the main course I had the braised short ribs with Japanese sweet potatoes. The meat was so tender. It was yummy goodness. My husband started with the steamed short rib sliders which were full of great flavored. So good. His entrée was the duck confit with a potato hash. The duck was cooked to perfection. I don’t know what was in the potato hash but it was delicious. I can’t wait to see what else Chef Joab has up his sleeve. Keep up the great work Joab!!! Please go for dinner at Step In and enjoy Chef Joab’s creations.

Friendly atmosphere! Late night dinner, deff a place to step in while everything is closed in parkchester. The servers are very sweet. I rmr went here for brunch one time with my fiancé and he ordered his first bloodymary, which comes with their brunch special and I guess the waitress we had, noticed he didn’t really touch it cause he didn’t like the taste and she talked to the manager and he came over and was the most sweetest man ever! he introduced him self and chatted with us, he even offered to get us another drink and my fiancé got the mimosa, and it was much better. The food is great but the manager and staff is what makes this place perfect.

Just stopped in because I was in the neighborhood around lunch time. Attractive décor. Ordered grilled tilapia lunch special. Came with drink, choice of soup or salad, choice of veggies. Also option for steamed or sautéed veggies. Fish was delicious. Fresh and generous portion. I opted for rice and peas on the side instead of potatoes. They were a little spicy and very tasty. $ 14.50. Wait staff very attentive. I periodically have business in the area and I will be returning.

After a long work week, it was good to eat some good food and listen to great music. First, the DJ was off the hook! Thanks for the reggae mixes. Next time, please play«Bold». We had the chicken wings with mac & cheese. Wings were so great. Crispy and fresh. I had mine with sauce on the side. She had BBQ on the wings. Mac & cheese wasn’t all that good. Tasted like the box Mac & cheese. Drinks were good — I had patron margarita, she had a apple martini. Overall experience was great. 5 stars because of the wings, DJ, drinks and renovated look. Will definitely be back.

I was recently here Saturday 8⁄22 around 1130pm, the staff was so unbelievably welcoming, the ambiance was nice and the music was awesome!!! My friends and I had the mac & Cheese which was recommended by our PHENOMENAL waitress Veronica(I think), the mac couldve have used some salt or bacon but it was still cheesy & gooey(which I looove). Definitely coming back!!!

I have yet to eat there but kudos to Step In for stepping it up. They are currently remodeling and have since gotten rid of the shitty bar that was connected to it. Welcome to 2015! I’m definitely gonna step in and check out the food. I’ve added a star to reflect the fact that management cares. Hopefully the menu and food are better!

Decided to go to Stepp In last night because when Applebee’s makes you wait for a table and the place isn’t packed thats a huge problem. I’ve always had Step In for takeout and I can never complain. The food was always delicious. Yesterday was my first time actually dinning in on Step In. It is now revamped they did a great job beautiful cherry wood seating they also now have a DJ who is spinning some great old school hip hop, freestyle and soul hits. Food was delicious and the service was very quick and friendly. I ordered the Step In burger. It is a must have for burger lovers. It has a huge piece of fried mozzarella bacon and siracha mayo all in one it was heaven in my mouth snd it is also one of the best burgers I had in a long time. I will definitely be going back again. They also now have Fishbowls Job well done on the rennovation it looks great.

WHYWHYWHY did they revamp it?! They have changed their hours. They now open at 11 am on the weekends! There goes my early breakfast! I stopped by on a Friday night at around 9 after a long day of work hoping for a chill vibe like the USED to have, nice conversation and some good eats. They now have a projector showing the game. The projection is WAY to big for that small space. They also have a dj with super loud music. So much for the«chill» vibe. My fiancé and I left and ate at home.

On the bus on the way home from Step In. What a night! My friend and I decided to sit at the bar. Eddie was the bartender. We order café patron shots and beer. We also order buffalo wings. Eddie was Great. He talked to us, made us laugh, but handled his own. Wings were great. Came out hot, cooked perfect(well done, but not burnt). We wanted the shots in a glass with ice and Eddie did it no problem. When we ordered the 3rd round, he made specialty shots on the house for us. Crowd is 21+. We were sick of Applebee’s so we gave them a shot an were not disappointed. Wed– live Jazz Thurs/Sat– DJ til 4am Happy hour — 5 – 7 Some all night drink specials all night Definitely check out if in the Boogie Down!

Step In is a restaurant not a lounge please don’t let the flyers confuse you. It’s too tight & easily gets crowded. There’s usually an event that takes place here every Saturday & Sunday. They offer plenty of drink & food specials. They also offer a fishbowl for $ 30. Beware of the waitresses disappearing for long periods of time. There’s been times where I had to put in two drink orders because the wait was extremely long. Some drinks range from weak to strong depending which bartender makes it. Step In serves delicious Honey BBQ Wings & they make a mean Shrimp Quesadilla. Do not order the Nachos it wasn’t anything to write home about. This place is modestly decorated with hardwood floors, cherry wood furniture, big screen tvs, a decent amount of table tops, & a separate bathroom for both men & women.

COMPLETELYBLEWMEAWAY!!! I got the country angus burger from the lunch menu. Omg the fries are a meal in itself. Decent price too, overall I had a great experience. Step in is the place to step in for sure.
