Best spot for bagels with cream cheese. I have been coming here for years, Mario the over night cook watched me grow up. If you come really late the old man poppa luca would give you a bag of donuts from the night before. Salute to gold mine for great memories, great food and to being a staple in the 231st district.

Used to be good. This morning the cook had to take my order, although five waitresses around. Busy waiting on others. Utensils not washed. Couldn’t get a coffee refill. When I say something at the register, just shrugged off. Saying goodbye.

Food is good. Deliver service sucks it literally too them 2 hours to deliver my food. When I called to complain and demanded to speak to a super visor the guy just simply said everybody is gone. To make things even better the delivery guy just said oh it’s not my problem I don’t really work for them.

Amazing buffalo chicken wrap and great iced coffee for a good price! Open 24 hours which is nice. Friendly service. I wish they used seamless or grubhub!!!

Great place for breakfast, I get delivery of either a breakfast wrap or an egg white omelet all the time and it is always good and quickly delivered.

This place used to Gold Mine Donut shop right on the corner of 231st Street. They closed down(not sure if same owner) and put a very nice looking diner. It’s small but clean and nice Greek décor. It might be because they’re just starting or maybe it’s your typical diner mentally but the service is extremely slow. You have to wait for your menu, wait for order and yes, that’s right you guessed it~ wait for the check. Not sure if it would be different if you were ordering out. I sampled two dishes: Mushroom swiss burger with fries and Cobb salad. Presenation was pretty nice. However… Burger was overcooked and they used American cheese! Un-be-lievable! The Cobb salad was just meh. The chicken was nicely prepared and avocado was ripe but nothing to go gaga over. Reedeming qualities: The fries were pretty good and well cooked. Dish prices are cheap. I took a peek at the table next to us and they had a greek salad and pita bread that looked nice and the people seemed to enjoy it. If you’re looking for a quick(to go) bite. I think this would be okay. Do not go there if you want to eat in and are in a rush. Or if you’re looking for gourmet burger~ not the place!

I wish my smartphone wasn’t overloaded with Unilocal photos so I could take a pic of this place! What a gem! Local joint. You can order a variety of donuts, breakfast how you like it, whatever. I ordered the standard bacon egg and cheese on a roll and it was tasty! Definitely above average. I was WORRIED that the coffee would be burnt or just low-quality the way local joints that aren’t chains often are, but this coffee was GOOD. Yo, who needs the Dunkin Donuts across the street? Get some flavor, feel the Bronx in all it’s character. Glad I stopped here.

Decent burgers and fries, nothing to write home about. Good place to stop in for food late night. Also, they have some decent donuts. Had the BLT once and that was ok. Worth stopping in if you need to grab a quick bite.

I give this place 4 stars for the donuts alone! They’re excellent! Simple and good! At one point I think they made them there but not so sure about that anymore… either way, they’re great! I’ve gone many a time at 4am to get a couple of donuts! Chocolate frosted and jelly are my favorites! Aside from the donuts… This place is just your typical greasy spoon. The coffee is decent The ham egg n cheese is good Ham n swiss on whole wheat… tasty. If you ever find yourself up on 231st and Broadway, any time of day or night, and want something simple and tasty… stop in!

It’s a small hole in the wall diner/coffee shop. It’s open 24⁄7. I don’t expect a great deal when I go here. It’s cheap, the food is decent and it’s always open. The staff is very nice.

It really is hard to mess up diner food. Their home fries are cooked well, their eggs are always the right consistency and they always make my bacon how I like it. My only issue with this place is the rudeness. The two owners are just rude and nasty. Dude, I just want my bacon egg and cheese so I can eat it after a night working at the bar, don’t be rude. Eh, I’m never there long enough to let it sink in and I just let it slide once I get my meal but it’s just annoying to hear that rudeness while I’m trying to enjoy a late night meal. I will def go back but if you’re in any kind of pissy mood I would avoid it.

U worked about 2 blocks from this small diner spot. It was open and available 24hrs a day. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. They have coffee brewing almost every hour of the day. Its a small place. With about 7 stools to sit at the counter and enjoy your meal. I would prefer this place for take out or a quick bite. I used to order their chicken gyro with everything on it. Really good. Their coffee was good. Their service was average. And sometimes the older man behind the counter would hook me up with free donuts for the rest of my overnight shift crew. And don’t even think about it. lol.
