Apparently the deliver guy runs this place. I never left a negative review on any business, but this was beyond unprofessional. The delivery guy is very rude and demands more money for a tip. Now the restaurant refuses that I order food because the delivery guy doesn’t want to come here. Never in a business have I heard a worker have more power than the owner and the manager. They rather lose a faithful customer of many years just to please their new delivery guy.

This place is amazing. Sushi is always impeccably fresh, and their prices are extremely reasonable. Special rolls are awesome, and there are even a few that aren’t on the menu that are delicious too. My go to sushi spot at least twice a week.

Used to deliver to my address no problem but stopped after claiming we didn’t order enough to justify the distance. In other words, if we order more, they’ll deliver. We weren’t too far away for over 6 months and now all of a sudden we are? There is a clear delivery minimum listed online and I consider this them shaking people down for more money. Not a good business practice. Sushi was just okay but there certainly are better options.

So I sit down and order a few pieces of sashimi. After eating all of them I left a bit of rice over on the plate and was ready to order more. Note: no extra fish was left over, it was maybe 5 cents worth of rice. The waitress refused to bring me any more food unless I finished every last morsel of rice. After ensuring I was not being pranked, I paid a la carte pricing for the few pieces I ate and went elsewhere to have a more enjoyable meal. I’d recommend eating here if you enjoy being treated like a third-class citizen. PS The the sashimi I ate was average at best.

Small spot. Seating for maybe 15 – 20 max. Very friendly staff. Plenty of metered parking and local street parking nearby. Took both my daughters(ages 4&5) there after school as a treat. They love sushi. Luckily we managed to catch the lunch special: 3rolls $ 10.50 and the shrimp and vegetable tempura bento box $ 8. Both came with miso soup. The soup was a little disappointing. It lacked that flavor I’m used to. We actually are big sushi fanatics and are always in search of a very good sushi spot closer to home. And I think we’ll still be searching. I was happy with the price and the super sweet staff but this spot is nothing I would am rave about. Their sushi is mediocre. It’s not«powzami» as my oldest put it. Its ok. Good if your in the area and want to grab a quick bite. Gave them 3 stars for cleanliness, friendliness and their eagerness to please their customer which are all very important too! Hope you visit is good or better!

Decent sushi. Small spot that we stopped by for a quick dinner. We did the AYCE menu but most of the items on the menu are ROLLS; so be prepared for a lot of rice. A selection of special rolls available on the AYCE menu so that makes up for it in price *$ 29.95/person. Overall, if you can handle more than 4 rolls yourself, a decent spot. But if you want more variety in the menu, try elsewhere.

I just had to update my review as it has been a while since my first one. My husband and I have been regulars here since moving to Riverdale in 2009. The place is clean, service prompt, and delivery quick. Service varies depending on the number of customers and deliveries(ONE girl handles everything front of house), but even if it’s not great, it’s good. About the All You Can Eat. It’s now $ 27.50, and I will concede that the pieces of fish(specifically on the sushi) has gotten smaller since I started coming here. The piece of rice hasn’t grown, it’s just more in relation to the smaller/thinner piece of fish. The rolls have stayed the same, in my opinion. However, this does NOT detract from the value of the AYCE offer given the price of sushi in NYC! Contrary to another reviewer, Nagoya’s AYCE menu is SO much broader than any I ever encountered in Manhattan(which were usually limited to sushi pieces and basic rolls). Nagoya’s AYCE menu comprises two 8.5X11 pages, and includes soups, salads, hot and cold appetizers(dumplings, tempura, shumai, etc.), sushi, basic rolls, AND their full menu of special rolls. Just getting 2 of the special rolls could cover the entire cost of the AYCE. So it is a stellar deal, and I’m not shy to say that anyone complaining about it is either 1) lying or 2) a cheap a$$! Nagoya is a true gem of Riverdale!

If you love lots of rice with your sushi, and service that is poor, and not very friendly… then this is the place for you. Tonite, I thought I would try this sushi place in my new neighborhhod, being new to NY from Los Angeles, California. When I walked in about 845pm, the small place was completely empty. I walked in a smile, and told them I am here to try their, All-You — Can– Eat– Sushi. I asked the woman/server about the amount of rice with the sushi, and she simply said, its the«regular mount». I jokingly stated, I hope its not TOOMUCH rice, because I had read something like that on Unilocal about them, but thought I would try since they were nearby. She kind of ignored it. Sure enough, I got sushi, whith TONSOFRICEPACKEDUNDERNEATH. or as she would say, «regular». and very thin slices of sushi. as if they were rationing, lol. I ate what I had ordered, and just tried to make the best of it. Her service and attentiveness, was absent as well. I had to repeatedly ask for water, and when I asked her to please take my dirty plate away, she had an attitude, and told me,” I will get it later.” Seriously?!? She walked pass my table at leat 3 times with one other dirty dish or hands free. I shouldnt have even had to tell her in the first place. By then another party came in. a couple. She was a tad more friendly, I obsereved, but notice his sushi plate sat on the sushi counter after being made for quite a while. as she was in the back or some where. The restaurant had all of 3 customers dining, and she couldnt get it right. I know she was taking some phone orders, but I kept thinking, what if this place was actually crowded… maybe 30 minutes for more water, lol. When she brough the check, she didnt say thank, or any acknowledgement even after she returned with my credit card. dropped it on the table… I though, WOW. As a consultant, I have eaten at hundreds or restaurants all over the country. This defintely ranks very low, and I won’t be a repeat customer to say the least. Now I see why it was completely empty. So, poor service, poor attitude, sushi peices(75– rice/25 sushi), and just an atmosphere of dead air, lol. Youve been warned. Have a nice day.

They have an all you can eat special for $ 27 bucks, dine in only. I went in with my sister and my 4 year old niece and no one came in to eat at all but I’m guessing they do very well since the phone was ringing a lot for delivery orders and a few people came in for take out. The all you can eat deal was not worth it. I was highly disappointed and just sat there like a typical Viet talking sh*% in Vietnamese. First off their items were limited, they only had gyozas and shrimp dumplings, edamame, and vegetable tempura as their appetizers. The soup was definitely powder based chicken or beef broth. And worst of all the SUSHIROLLSWERE80% RICEAND20% FISH. I literally sat there and made a pile of wasted rice on the side of my plate that can feed 3 children in Asia. Don’t get me wrong I did eat rice, a lot of it… but it was a ridiculous amount that they put in there. I kept telling myself, «Is this a joke?» The only reason I gave this two stars is because the lady who works there was really nice, she didn’t charge my niece anything for eating edamame and gyozas. And the sushi wasn’t so bad, but I’m sure they would’ve put less rice is we just had food from the regular menu instead of ayce.

Who doesn’t like a big bowl of hot dishwater? Sorry, but the Udon at this Japanese restaurant was so bland, so lacking in flavor, it was aggravating. I was really looking forward to a big bowl of hot tasty soup, especially after spending the last hour watching Anthony Bourdain in Singapore slurp down one brightly colored bowlful of noodles and broth after another. This thing came with promise – they sent the tempura shrimp on the side, which shows they gave a shit about texture, and there was a big fried egg on top of the soup. But as soon as the broth crossed my lips, I got pissed. It was nothing but hot water. It was like they forced the baby corns into the pot and let them boil to death and poured the whole crime scene in a take-out container and sent it to my house. Even the egg needed salt!!! I’ve been to Japan, and spent enough time slurping down noodles in casual places to know what udon/soba/ramen should taste like, and this was an insult. If the chef was still living in Japan(assuming the chef is Japanese), his rightful duty would be to perform hare kare. Still, it got three stars, and that’s cuz the sushi itself was pretty fresh and tasty. If the tekka maki tasted like Teriyaki Boy’s, it would’ve been two stars. That’s my word. (Looks like I have a new quest on my hands.) GOODJAPANESEINRIVERDALE???

This is a hidden Japanese gem in the Bronx. The All-you-can-eat sushi special is amazing!!! It includes sushi, rolls, appetizers, and soups/salads. It’s only $ 25. I bought a salad, a plate of dumplings, and about 4 sets of sushis. Without this deal, I would’ve paid at least $ 40 in NYC. Please note that in September 2011, it will increase to $ 28. The staff are very hospitable and sociable. They moved me and my boyfriend to a bigger table because our table was too small. The food is fresh and delicious. The dumplings are pretty small. The good thing is that you can order a second plate if you’d like with the all-you-can-eat special. :-) The restaurant is very clean. Even the bathroom was clean. They received an A rating by the NYC Department of Health. The restaurant is small, but it does not feel too crowded when all of the tables are occupied. It’s very casual. I went there for dinner wearing jeans and a shirt. Overall, this is a rare and delicious find for sushi lovers in the Bronx.

I am gonna give them a review that borders on 3 to 4 stars. I rememeber this place was awesome back when I worked in the riverdale area but that was pre-recession. Honestly, I used to love it here but also honestly I am never in this area anymore. I don’t think I will even go all out of my way just to say HEY I tried this place again just to see if they are good. I can’t tell if their quality of food really fell off or not because there is only one other review to compare to. A friend of mine told me he ordered from them a few months ago and it waas just ok, no real problems but he didn’t like one thing he ordered from there. Maybe it was spicy tuna roll. He said he liked everything else just threw that one right away when he sampled it for some reason. I do remember they had an all you can eat menu for $ 25…I thought it was just rolls only.
