Asian Tokyo

This place is very affordable and the lunch specials can’t be beat. The food is fresh and presented well. The staff isn’t very friendly but the place is never crowded. Don’t underestimate the hidden location. This is one of my favorite places for lunch.

Eating here was a miserable experience. Aside from the fact that the ambience is nil, similar to a neighborhood Chinese take out place. At 715 PM Saturday evening only one table was occupied. There was one girl in the dining room waiting tables, answering the phone taking delivery orders, bussing and handling the cash register. The above should have been enough of a clue but we decided to order anyway, Both the wife and I ordered Bento Box dinners, she with Sashimi, me with Sushi. The included Miso soup was medium luke warm and contained hardly any tofu. The included salad was clumps of iceberg lettuce, too large to be picked up with chop sticks, one thin slice of tomato, covered with what appeared to be Kraft French Dressing. When the boxes finally came my sushi were six skimpy, to put it mildly, pieces of fish and the smallest skinniest tuna roll I’ve ever seen, four small pieces of Gyoza, some greasy vegetable Tempura, and a large portion of plain white rice. There was neither any soy sauce or dishes to pour it into on the table. We had to ask for it.
This visit counted for two, the first and the last visit for us.

The place is affordable and so convenient. I go to school around here so its really a good place to curb my sushi cravings. I recommend.

It’s Wednesday nite I’m here with a friend there’s no one here but the sushi is fresh and yummy waitress isn’t on the friendly side but I came here for the food.

This was our first time eating food from this restaurant. My husband and I had a few friends over and we had just received a menu from this place so we decided to try it. We ordered delivery, which took an hour to arrive for no apparent reason because the food was pretty mediocre. We ordered 3 rolls and some mixed vegetables. The Sushi was soggy and not rolled well, very minimally seasoned and completely underwhelming. Order included: Chicken tempura roll, spicy crunchy yellowtail roll, spicy crunchy salmon roll and mixed vegetables teriyaki. The crunchy rolls had no crunch and I was unable to finish my chicken roll because of how unappetizing it was. The person who ordered the mixed vegetables seemed to be satisfied except for the large amount of onions in the meal. It is very unlikely that we will order here again. If so, we definitely will not be ordering sushi.

Sushi is always fresh. This dine in experience was perfect. They use fresh GREEN seaweed/​nori in their rolls.

I order from here off of grub hub frequently. The sushi is fresh, pad Thai is superb. My only complaint is that I wish they would give better quality chopsticks. I got a splinter from using them today. But overall everything is awesome especially the mango roll and shrimp tempura !!! Red bean mochi is the best I’ve ever had.

The most «meh» sushi would be the distinctive feature here. Combine that with a cold uninviting dining room, a musty odor permeating the dining area that hits ur nostrils the moment you walk thru the doors, and there is literally no reason to ever go back here.

Just waited an HOUR AND A HALF for delivery (for mediocre sushi)…never again!

This is such an excellent sushi spot. There are not enough even fairly decent sushi places in the Bronx. Thank goodness for this new gem! My boyfriend and I have been here twice already and plan to remain loyal.
The sushi is extremely fresh, which is hard to say for many places. The prices are decent and the service is great. Since it is a very new spot, there is always a table available but I’m sure that may not last for too long. I’ll be frequenting Riverdale more often for this place.

I love this place! I’ve ordered takeout multiple times and every time it’s been awesome. I’ve tried a few maki’s and my favorite so far is the happy roll, although all of them have been very good. I also recommend the miso soup, really good and good bargain for the amount of soup you get. Prices aren’t too bad for the portions and quality. Definitely the best Japanese food I’ve had in the area… it’s a new takeout staple!

Excellent food and service; I had the sashimi dinner box. SO happy this place is open, it’s right down the street, and they have a 10% grand opening discount that you should take advantage of–

Finally, an excellent Japanese restaurant in south Riverdale! I think this restaurant opened up within the last month or so. Given the dearth of respectable food joints around this area, I’m glad Asian Tokyo is here! Ordered some lunch items for delivery. Here is my breakdown:
1– Price: Very reasonable, especially the lunch specials, but even if I have to pay regular dinner prices, that would be more than acceptable
2– delivery: well within the estimated time range, delivery person was nice
3– food: EXCELLENT! The rolls were well built, the salmon was very tasty, the soup was tasty and the edamame was a very nice touch!
Overall, it is an excellent restaurant and I would not hesitate to order from them again! Definitely a notch or two above other comparable restaurants in the area :)
