Cool spot, friendly bartenders. Other great shops nearby.

Cool spot to hang out with friends. Have been there three times already and the last time(last Saturday) it was super fun. Towards the end, me and my friends got free drinks! That’s how much they enjoyed seeing us have fun lol. You wouldn’t know it when you first get there, but it really is a bar. Mostly college students go there, but it’s not a bad crowd. I hear they have karaōke on Tuesdays which I am looking forward to doing some time in the future.

Love this place. I wish they had their own kitchen and more beer selection. Great crowd.

The food comes from a collaboration of near by businesses, the beers on draft rotates often, there are games to play and the setting is unique in a de la carte type of way. Friendly staff and music paying in the back ground makes this a spot to go and hang out with a friend for a casual conversation and some flights(priced at $ 15 with some decent pours) and finger food.

I don’t know what word better describes this place–«interesting» or «weird». Stopped by here with a friend after taking a stroll down Little Italy. The first thing I noticed was that this place had a weird smell and there was some kind of meat being sold towards the back. And then I turn around and see some kind of souvenir(?) store, I guess. I don’t know, honestly. There was just too much going on here for my taste. This place is pretty big, don’t get me wrong– it’s just sectioned awkwardly. So my friend and I go sit at the bar for some drinks– they only sell beer and wine here. But they don’t have the basic beers like Corona, Bud Light, etc. They had that IPA ish I don’t like, lol. We asked for a sample of an IPA and I did not enjoy it. And to add to that, the bartender was just WEIRD! Lmao. She was just off. I myself am getting confused writing this review, because that was the vibe this place gave me. Returning? Idk, maybe for Halloween. (I was being sarcastic.)

This was my first time coming to The Bronx Beer Hall which is located inside the italian market. It wasn’t what I expected initially but it’s not necessarily a bad thing. For a beer hall it does have a limited selections of beers but at least is a decent one. Service is Ok but the food they get from one of the deli down the hall is good. If you’re in the mood to have a cold brew and walk around the many shops in the market I guess the beer hall is a good option.

I like the Bronx Beer Hall. I only wish that I had have still been at Fordham when it opened. It’s got a great atmosphere in the middle of the Arthur Avenue Market. So, when the market closes, the beer hall remains open and you’re in a dark, creepy empty market. There’s something ghostly fascinating about it. They serve craft beers with a handful on tap and others in bottles. I attended a catered event so I’m not sure if the food was from them but it was very, very good. They also host really fun events, such as trivia night! Brotip: The bathroom is located in the back and up a few stairs. It does get dark back there when the rest of the market closes. Watch your step!

went to the bronx beer hall, really cute place. waiter did a great job serving us. the pumpkin beer and apple cider were really good, would suggest getting those if you stop in. also just a cool atmosphere since you’re in the middle of a market where there’s fresh meat, vegetables, cigars. little shops surrounding you. really fun time — would recommend it!

I am sad to give this place only 2 stars but I have rarely been let down by my fellow Unilocalers. I went bc it was rated 4 stars and at best it was 3. Would probably go for 2.5 if I could rate half stars. But to my review, wings were soggy, flavor was downright strange. My wife had a moz/prosciutto sandwich which lacked prosciutto. And I had the Italian sandwich that was also mostly bread. Beer selection on draft was ok and bottles r bottles. Overall, very unhappy. They r going for an Eataly vibe here which is cute but that’s probably the only best thing about this place.

This place is a favorite for drinks with friends in the Belmont area. Always have a great array of five NY beers to try and the prices aren’t bad for the area. If you go during their happy hours, the prices are even better. It’s also a pretty cool location, being that it is in the center of the Arthur Ave Italian Market. You can find people here at all hours of the day watching sports, taking a load off after shopping around, or enjoying the activities they offer at night(karaōke, trivia, and live music nights to name a few). The only cons to the place are the service and their new happy hour token system. The staff is friendly, but not very knowledgeable or attentive. I can’t even count the amount of times they’ve brought the wrong beer or forgot to bring me something I asked for. For the happy hours, they’ve instituted a free drink token. I always manage to leave with a drink token and every time i try and use it, i am turned down. The staff says it’s only good for a free drink during happy hour, but I’m honestly not even sure if they know how the system works. It would be better if they went back to the half-priced drink options… Overall, a great joint for burgers, beers, and bustling atmosphere with friends. Just don’t expect stellar service or to understand why you’ll begin to accumulate a small collection of useless wooden drink tokens.

A great concept carried out perfectly; five superb NY craft beers on tap rotated biweekly a great selection of bottles, and a solid wine collection with happy hours and specials and even some fun late nite events ! Their superb food selections come from the other food specialists in the market and the surrounding arthur ave food hot spots, Their friendly and attentive staff compliment the innovative owners — 2 super knowledgable bronxites who have become renowned in NYC for their expertise … and hospitality ! A must stop whenever I’m in the area !

This is a mid-sized eating/drinking space inside a large Retail Market with various vendors. The beer hall features local brews, and all of the beers we tried were great. Also, this happened to be the day when American Pharaoh won the triple crown, so we were able to watch the race in the hall. This plus the market has the feeling of a neighborhood with a lot of locals compared to much of NY where so many people are in transit, and that was also an added bonus.

Sooooo… I don’t drink beer but I still love this place because the staff is so friendly and they are so welcoming to cyclists. I’ve been here probably a dozen times over the past couple years and have never had a bad experience. I often meet friends here(they all get beer!) and we enjoy the food off the menu or bring our own food in, especially on Sundays(vegan pizza across the street!). I heard they do movie nights, which I definitely need to check out.

The Bronx Beer Hall is quickly making a name for itself. As others have said on Unilocal,it has a great location. Situated in the middle of the Arthur Ave. Italian Market it’s an amazing atmosphere. They use subway tiling and a combo of wood furnished tables. Seating is a bit limited later in the night, but a pint after work will treat you well. The food is delicious, I’ve only ordered it a few times, but it lives to the standard of the neighborhood. They offer some great craft beers from the NY area, my personal favorite is the Gun Hill Brewery or Jonas Bronx Brewery. Since its inception, it seems as if the continuously different selection has gone from excellent to somewhat mundane. It seems now that it’s either Ommegang or Captain Lawrence on tap. That is fine as they brew great beer, but I miss the days of a constant mix. My biggest criticism of the Beer Hall is that the service sucks. If it is empty they are on top of their game, but introduce a semi-busy night and suddenly it’s game over. It isn’t as much of a criticism of the staff as it is one of the management. I think they need about ½ more bartenders working on their high traffic nights and maybe one or two more people working the floor as well. The beer hall is a favorite of mine in the Bronx Little Italy, it’s new and it has to grow and find its way a bit, but if management listens to reviews and adjusts accordingly it will become a Bronx staple.

A must see and a must eat. Sandwiches and cheese/cured meat plates are so good. Vegetarian friendly. Local craft beer. Cool Italian market with olives and cured meats galore. Very friendly bar staff too!

Walk in past the cigar maker, the deli and meat counters, and head right to the big bar smack dab in the middle of this place. Take a seat at a bar stool and drink some cold local NY brews served up in mason jars. ABC Beer Co, Ommegang, Bronx Brewery, Gun Hill and others. Try a flight served up in mini mason jars and have a taste of four different brews. They even have growlers if you want to take some home and get buzzed on your couch. If you need some eats they serve up a small menu of bar snacks, sandwiches from Mike’s Deli, and pizzas from Café Al Mercato which are located in the market. Fresh, tasty, and at a good price. In the Retail Market it’s a cool spot to drink giant mason jars full of beer during happy hour in Da Bronx. Listening to 80’s hip hop and dance music. It’s like a time warp in here. Cool and casual with a nice staff to boot. Get sloppy drunk and hit up a few local pastry joints when you have the munchies. Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

Weirdly located, but worth the discovery. Only had 5 beers on tap, but they were all so very good. Had a great time chatting with the bartender. They’ll order you food from the deli or pizza place in the market. I highly recommend trying this place out

The affable young man running the bar was quite knowledgeable. We did a flight of 4, 4 of the 5 they had this day. They had paninis from the local deli. Everything was amazing!

** 3.5 stars ** At the center of the historic and very much functional Arthur Avenue Retail Market is the Bronx Beer Hall. Situated at the center of the market in an open format appropriate for the setting, its impossible to miss on the way to the vendors within. The bar faces the back of the market, and one can take a seat at one of near dozen bar seats. Groups can gather at one of multiple communal wood tables. Large screen TVs are viewable from nearly any seat. Service is friendly but often inexperienced and absent-minded. They offer the usual bar beverage staples(mixed drinks, wines, sodas). But its their craft beers that gets the spotlight. A handful of rotating craft beers on tap, focused on local and regional breweries such as Bronx-based Gun Hill, Queens-based SingleCut, and New York-based Captain Lawrence and Badass Hard Cider; a diverse style range is always featured, and a flight can be had. A small selection of cans and bottles, likewise craft brews with the same local bent. Up until recently, the food menu was incoherent. Turkey chili or sliders or burger? Korean pork salad? Truffle burger? Hot and sour soup? Reflexively, I picked from the sausage selection and the mostly Italian appetizers, which were fine. Thankfully, that menu appears to have been retired in favor of food prepared by Arthur Avenue Deli aka Mike’s Deli(identified as Greco’s on the new menu, the family name for the founders/owners of the deli), a renowned Italian food vendor in the same market. The menu now features an extensive catalog of Italian sandwiches, along with some pastas, salads, antipasti, pizza breads, and calzones. As expected, these are made with the same good quality ingredients in abundance at the market. A pub on Arthur Avenue really need look no further than Italian classics for perfect bar food. The Bronx Beer Hall is(thus far) the only craft beer bar in the area, so its a winning option even with limited selection, and now with food that’s a better fit for its venue. Come enjoy a beer even as the market closes down and the lights go out around the beer hall, an interesting warehouse ambience.
