Tiny’s Diner

I have found the food better than Blue Bay, Land and Sea or Short Stop Coffee Shop, the service can be a little slow if it’s busy, it really is a Tiny Diner. Have had decent sandwiches, burgers, omelettes, eggs benedict etc. and delivery has been generally good contrary to some of the old reviews here. Nice ambience and a friendly vibe.

I never write reviews on restaurants but the customer service here is terrible! When I first started going to Tinys I loved it! It was my favorite diner in Riverdale but as time went on service got worse back in June I waited nearly an hour before my waitress realized that she never put our order in and then when I said forget it and got up to leave she got an attitude. This Morning I Went To Have breakfast there and the waitress was rude and unfriendly when we sat down she gave us menus and after 15 mins of us sitting there she came over and asked if we were in a rush because she was not sure when we were going to be able to eat. Completely blew my mind because the place was not even packed but I over heard the cook saying he was leaving in 30 mins and that was it. She was still rude when relaying the message of not sure how long it would be before we got to actually get served and unapologetic. I felt like we were being kicked out of the restaurant. They really need a new staff in that place employees who are actually people friendly and not there just to get a pay check I worked in a restaurant for a few years and i know that things get overwelhming at times but I never treated customers like this!

Full disclosure: I get breakfast here often enough to be the mayor on Swarm, so I am definitely down with what this place is cooking! I am always excited by the all the choices on the menu and consistently pleased with the quality of the food I get at a very reasonable price. The staff is attentive and cordial. This place is not big, but the turn around is fairly quick. It’s a solid choice and one of my staples on the weekends when I just want someone to make pancakes, a burger, or a salad for me.

Just not worth it. Went on a Sunday morning They had 1 cook short. Do they bother to tell you when you order? of course not. Just kept us waiting… and waiting… and waiting… and waiting…40 minutes later, after my wife and the rest of the place had their food served, they condescend to bring me what i ordered… I turned it back…
It’s simple: a manager manages: if there’s a problem, he/​she attends to it… because in business it is managing customer expectations that bring good or bad reviews…
the waitress yelled at me, (I dont need be told to do my job) the manager ignored me… I had asked after our food after 25 minutes, 30 minutes… and when there was no food and no answer but «it;‘s coming»…and it doesn’t show up… heck egg dishes don’t take that long to cook do they?
This place just isn’t worth it. a shame.the food is good… and it’s really clean…
But hassles in mismanagement make it a no-​go.

The food is fine, and the restaurant is cute, but DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY. It will always take at least an hour, often 90 minutes, and once it took over 2 hours. We only ordered multiple times because we had hoped the first couple times were just days when they were short-​staffed, but we now know that they never ever have enough staff.

Just got my food took over two hours and when food was delivered the entire order was smashed and disgusting I suggest anyone in the area to order somewhere else this food is horrible and the customer service is disgusting

Ordered on grubhub and expected a long wait after seeing the reviews. Food came in less than an hour and everything was hot. The gyro sandwich was delicious. My wife had blueberry pancakes with bacon which was also good. Very nice size portions with affordable prices considering being surrounded by several overpriced eateries. Will order again.

I stopped in today, but didn’t stay because smoke was pouring forth from the grill and I couldn’t take the smell. I thought it was on fire, but the waitress said it wasn’t on fire, just the smoke from cooking some hamburgers. The waitress seemed rather annoyed that I found the smoke bothersome. Well, whatever, good luck to your lungs and to the poor cook’s lungs.

Once upon a time there was an amazing restaurant in this location that had incredible food, service and prices… They are gone now and all that is left it this place. VERY EXPENSIVE INEDIBLE STUFF (can’t call it food). Good luck. You’d have a better shot playing Roadkill roulette.

NEVER ORDER FOR DELIVERY! We’ve ordered twice, and each time the food arrived over two and a half hours from the time we ordered. Ridiculous.
Otherwise, this is a great little diner. Food’s good and fairly priced. There’s not much seating, so go when it isn’t peak meal time.

Is like to tell you about the food but I can’t. We finally decided to cut bait after waiting for over an hour while watching delivery order after delivery order going out. Terrible. Never again

meandered in to grab a quick breakfast. The owner and waitress were very friendly. Prices were very reasonable and I ordered a French toast with bacon. Hubs ordered a florentine Omelette with home fries on the side. The French toast was made in the old fashioned way but lacked sufficient batter so it was a bit soggy. The bacon was crisp and delicious. the florentine omelet was tasty and the home fries made with bits of onion and green peppers were very good. Overall the diner is cute, the people are nice, and food is pretty standard with minimal wait time for the hungry patron. would recommend coming to this place for breakfast in Riverdale.

I just ordered an egg and cheese sandwich to go and when I opened it there was what looked like pasta/​tomato sauce smothered inside as well as a trace of what looked like broccoli. I can only assume that the cook was using a common cooking space and/​or a common utensil. This is pure laziness and disregard for someone’s order. Unfortunately I couldn’t return it because I was already on the bus.

My Fam and I have been to Tiny’s for breakfast twice now. We kept avoiding it because of the mixed reviews but overall, we enjoyed the experience and plan on returning. They have affordable prices and yummy breakfast choices. It’s also family friendly, which is a plus for us. The only downside is that the service can be a little slow at times (but still very friendly)!

This diner looks adorable and old fashioned on the outside. Inviting. Looks are deceiving. We had our grandson with us to celebrate his big soccer win. Service was horrible. Food wasn’t bad, except for the vegan burger ordered that was cold and I’m guessing not nuked long enough. Service was just horrible. Waited more than an hour for our food and no apologies or explanations. We weren’t the only customers complaining. Best part was when the manager opened the front door because he was hot. It’s 36 degrees out and we were freezing. My wife had to get up to close the door. Our poor grandson was freezing in his soccer shorts. This place has potential but for us, never again.

What a real gem! After too many visits to Blue Bay we decided to try the other diner on the hill — Tiny’s. What a great experience! The food was better, the staff was more attentive, the prices were better, and they had specialty offerings like organic eggs and non-​dairy milk. It’s farther for us to visit than Blue Bay, but we’ll take the walk. It’s simply a better place to eat.

The best diner in Riverdale by far! Food is great and is made to order so it sometimes takes a while but it’s well worth the wait!

Husband and I come here regularly, pancakes never disappoint. Food is always great. My favorite is the breakfast special during the week and the $ 10 special all day every day. Lots of food at a good price.
French toast, club sandwich, salads are always fresh. Tiny on is cute too!

Better food than any of the other diners in the area, but horrible service.
They’ve always been slow but last time we got food delivered, they forgot an entire entrée (out of two entrees) and we had to wait for the delivery guy to come back.
This morning we went in and waited 10 minutes for them to clear off the food that belonged to the people who just left. We could see how long of a wait this was going to be so we walked out.
We won’t be going back for a while because although the food is good we just don’t want to deal with the awful service.

I have been here on several occasions. The first time I sat in one of their comfy booths, the second time I at at the counter area. Both times I found service was great. Thy have a wide variety of food and everything looked good. The last time I was there I had a cheese steak and it was delicious.
Its in a great location. Right on riverdale avenue. The 10 or 7 bus stops across the street.
I will definitely be going again.
