My girlfriend called me up and wanted to meet for an early supper at Travesias. Upon entry, we were given a very nice table and I’m assuming it’s because she’s a regular so they hooked us up. The server came to the table quickly and took our orders. They have some decent specials but we went with a bottle of Tempranillo for the table. We started with the Passion Ceviché, which was very good. The portion was small but it was served in a tiny, cute mini mason jar. I liked the flavor. As we do at most outings together, we ordered a slew of items to share. We had the French Avocados which are basically huge slices of deep-fried avocado and they were crunchy on the outside but creamy inside and flavorful. We also had the Golden Crab which are basically crab wantons. They were ok but the Argentinian Steak Pinchos were tender and wonderful! We also shared an order of the Oxtail Risotto which I would have to say, was an interesting take on risotto. The oxtail meat was tender and full of flavor, as was most everything we had; the risotto was creamy and not too cheesy. I was happy with that selection. The staff very attentive. We had a great meal and I would definitely make a return visit with hubby and my son.

I have to say I was really impressed with this spot. Food was delicious. The appetizers were amazing. My wife had the crab appetizer and it was delicious. I had the 3 empanadas appetizer, it was amazing. The main course was really good. I would recommend this place to everyone to come here.

Travesias is amazing! I’ve been here a handful of times and it’s always great food & great service. The owner is usually around checking in & all the servers are friendly. I highly recommend the chimi sliders, guacamole with wonton chips, and the churrasco. Every night there’s something going — from Taco Tuesday’s to Family Sunday’s. It’s a small space so if you’re coming with a group or past 7pm, you may want to make a reservation. It’s my new favorite!

All I have to say #OhMyGawwwddd! The food is beyond fantastic! Love the place. Nice and cozy. One of my best friends recommended it to me and finally decided to go check it out and I’m glad I did. I started off with chimi sliders then for main course a chaufon and then cheese cake for desert. From beginning to end just finger licking good. #FiveStarsAcrossTheBoard!

I was here on a Sunday Funday with my friends and we were pretty impressed. I heard about this place since it opened. Lots of relatives of mine came here before and recommended this place. We arrived here on a Sunday around 2:40 pm and they don’t open until 3 pm we didn’t know. The waiter was very kind to let us sit and wait at the table until the kitchen was open. We started off with some traditional Latin drinks such as mojito and sangria which were very good as the menu describes and we went straight to our main course. My friends ordered the Peruvian Chauffa which had an amazing description and the dish was server really professionally looking, they also ordered the Grilled Coconut Chicken that comes with a side of mashed malanga. I’ve got to say that’s the next dish I’m ordering next time I’m going there. The coconut sauce was outstanding and the chicken moist and juicy just as you imagined while you ordered it. I ordered the Argentinian steak, served as well in a professional look. Looked beautiful we couldn’t stop taking picture of the dish. It also tasted as it looked. AMAZING. The owner also greeted us very nicely. It was very nice of him to approach the table and ask us about our stay there, he would make you feel very comfortable. The service was very good. Besides they have a very good looking staff. They always pay attention to the table in a professional way. I would love to try this place again. Hopefully soon! These 5 stars are more than worth it.

I was researching a good place to take my BF for his birthday and the reviews won me over so I decided to come here. Let me begin by confirming that yes the food was indeed good. The reason why I didn’t rate it a 5 was for two reasons: #1 The $ 42 steak it’s not a meal for two(that could of been just for me lol) Also the steak was bland. Don’t get me wrong it was nicely cooked and the meat was soft, but in my opinion it just needed more salt. #2 The music was really weird; not your typical Latin cuisine restaurant music that I’m used to. They went from playing Prince Royce to Akon to Arcangel to random. Also the place look like it was dead, I’m sure not a lot of people know about it or they are not promoting it properly. Other than that the service was great, the service was fast and the free mojito was yummy good(which I got by checking in to Unilocal) I will definitely give it another try and come back and order something else from the menu.

We were seated the moment we walked in. The crowd there was cool. Our waiter was on point. He was at our table every 5 – 10 minutes checking up on us to see if we were good. We started with the chimi sliders and a pitcher of sangria, everything was banging. The presentation was nice. The sangria was sweet, I thought is was weak on the alcohol but don’t play yourself like I did, I was lit after two cups the owner did check up on us, asked us if everything was good, which is always nice. Overall nice atmosphere and good food. Has my approval

Wow! Where do I begin? Let me start off by saying that everything at Travesias was beyond my high expectations. Kudos, Travesias! I was told by a few friends that as a lover of well done and delicious food, I should make time to visit. It took me a while to make my way, but boy was I missing out! I was greeted and seated immediately upon arrival, which to me is very important. I mean, who likes to wait? The menu is like a treasure and you just want it all! Well, my boyfriend and I started with some drinks: their famous and amazingly delicious sangria for him and their outstanding & super tasty frozen margarita(Passion-Rasberry) for me. We tried the fried plantain chimi sliders — outrageous! So good it’s insane. You can not go to Travesias and not try them. My boyfriend, ordered their Chuleton [pork chop] which is perfectly accompanied with parmesan yuca fries. I think their porkchop is award-winning for being juicy, flavorful and most importantly tender! I had their Argentina skirt steak — again, another perfectly cooked meat! Finally, for dessert I had their café con leche crème brûlée. Yes! That’s right, a coffee and milk crème brûlée! I was blown away! I’ve had many top notch crème brûlées in my life(it’s my favorite desert), and this one definitely made it to my top three! To top it all off owner Brian Martinez came over to our table to say hello and ask about the service… Of course my reply was«Everything was Ahhhhmazing» If your in NYC, make your way, call out sick, do whatever you need to do, but VISIT Travesias. You can Thank me later!

Why haven’t I leave a review here? Idk Best Latin American restaurant in NYC and one of the best that I have ever tried. I can eat anything, but that I will fall in love with everything is a surprise. In Travesias I fall in love with everything I’ve tried. The chimi sliders you can’t go wrong with them, the piña colada shrimp, the black bean hummus, the tacos, the desserts, the drinks, oh the drinks; they are amazing! The chef, the bartender and the owner know what they are doing! Everything is on point and consistent, which is one of the most important things in the restaurant business. I have to pay a visit to Travesias soon! And trust me that won’t be the last one! If you are reading this STOP, like this review and head to Travesias to make your taste buds go crazy!

My boyfriend had been doing research for some time now, to see where he would take me for my birthday! He decided to bring me to Travesias, in the Bronx; we had to switch it up since he is always checking for spots in Manhattan! I am so glad we decided to explore the other boroughs! Okay, so let the real review start… :) My boyfriend called around 4:30PM, to make reservations for 8:00PM of the same day. When we arrived, we were greeted with huge smiles, and lead on to our seats… that was when one of the waiters took my boyfriend’s jacket off for him, and we were surprised. I took mine off before he was done with my boyfriend, so yea… hahaha! We asked about the Unilocal check-in for a mojito, and my boyfriend got the piña colada mojito, which he described as, «Banginnnnn!!!» He, also, had a strawberry frozen margarita, which he told me was also good, but that the piña colada mojito was better, and so refreshing. We started with the To’ Chimi Sliders and… wowww… these were delicious! They were well done, with the chimi sauce and the tostones as the buns. Genius creation. It had so much flavor… I could only describe them so much, but you should go try them for yourself lol. YOUWILLNOTREGRETIT! For our entrees, I had chicharones de pollo with french fries… Delicious! My boyfriend had skirt steak with cuban moro and maduros. Hugeeee portion of food, very filling. The food was so good, that I took home the rest and finished it all! Their french fries are A1, actually, they are some of the best fries I have ever tasted… and I love french fries, so I would know… HAHAHA! After we were done with our meals, the wait staff surprised me with a delicious, moist, chocolate cake, with ice cream and cherry syrup. It was amazing! The food was amazing… we left so full! The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Oh, our waiter was so attentive, that he accidently dropped a piece of my chicken when we brought my plate, and he apologized and said he would bring me a fresh piece. I told my boyfriend, «Imagine he brings the same one, and pretends he switched it!» Nahhh, none of that, he brought me back two fresh pieces, which I know we’re fresher because they were a different size and the color was a little different! I will definitely be coming here again. A++++++

Visited for the first time on a busy Friday without a reservation and still managed to accommodate us. The menu is so exotic and innovative. Had the delicious chimi sliders for apps, calamari, and for entrees the mixed fried rice chaufan and Argentinian skirt steak. Another plus is they have happy hour on a Friday! The guava mojito was surprisingly delicious and there is a crazy amount of flavors to choose from. Service was great even while they are busy. Will definitely return to try their other apps and a dessert.

We came here on a Sunday night. We got Mojitos which were good. They were also free because we checked in using this app. We got two appetizers, the chimi sliders and the rice balls. I thought they were expensive for the portions that they gave, although they were very tasty. For the entrees we got the pasta with chicken, the pork chop, the burger, and the rice mixed with longaniza, skirt steak, and other things. The pasta with the chicken and bacon was awesome. It was a great portion for the price. The pork chop was okay and the yucca fries had no flavor. The burger was like steak on a bun. The meat was smaller than the bread so it made it harder to eat. I actually had to send my burger back because it was burned. The rice mixed with the longaniza, skirt steak, and other things was tasty but extremely small. It was very expensive for the portion and I was still hungry afterwards. The service was good. I had asked a waiter to change my plate and he had no problem doing that. My waitress was not around when I needed her. All in all, this restaurant is definitely worth going back to despite the prices.

Décor/Ambiance: 5⁄5 The Décor Is Simple Yet Chic. Very Clean. They Have Outdoor Seating To Accommodate For There Small Restaurant But Fall Is Approaching Shortly So Idk How Long Those Will Be There. Inside They Play Spanish Music. Only A Few Of Us Were There. My Date And 3 Other Parties On A Sunday Night Around 9p. Service: 5⁄5 The Service Was Very Good. Our Server Was Nice She Made Suggestions When We Couldn’t Decide On What To Get. Food Came Out In A Good Amount Of Time. The Staff Were Attentive. Food: 4⁄5 I Had The Pork Chop And My Date Had The Travesias Burger. Ok so my Pork Chop Was Very Flavorful. A Bit On The Drier Side But Good Nonetheless. I Switched Out The Yuca fries For French Fries And They Tasted Like Cheap frozen Fries I Didn’t Like That. They Gave Us A Chipotle Sauce That Was Sooooooo Good, It Masked The Taste Of The Fries Very Well Lol. The Burger Was So Good. I Realized When The Burger Came Out That He Wasn’t Asked What Temperature He Wanted His Burger. It Looked To Be About Medium Rare Which Was A Little Off Putting But We still Went Ahead And Gave It A Try, Very tasty!!! I’m Coming Back To Try All The Apps. My Eyes Are So Much Bigger Then My Stomach!
