Awesome fresh food love the homemade sauces and kind staff. They offer a student discount which is sweet I just wish they added more meat too the bowls

This is the definition of a mediocre burrito joint. I went with the Baja Betty burrito with spicy pork. The pork was not even remotely spicy, I don’t even think it was seasoned with salt and pepper. This is one of the things that makes me the most upset when getting food. The menu one the wall says«spicy pork(spicy)» which was a straight up lie. Honesty is critical in the burrito industry and my trust was violated. The burrito was incredibly bland so it was impossible to form and opinion one way or the other on it. Price-wise it was $ 8.18 for the burrito which felt fair since the portion was fairly large. $ 1.75 for a CAN of coke though? Come on, guys. So I wouldn’t recommend this place, but I wouldn’t not recommend it either.

Mmmm. Nice and tasty burrito. Try adding some salsa which is offered across from the counter as self-serve. This place seemed very friendly. The man working the counter(perhaps the owner?) seemed to know everyone who walks in the door.

Come here all the time for the starving student special. Really hits the spot and the fillings are cooked fresh. Only issue is the occasional running out of certain fillings and hot sauce.

Quick, cheap and delicious, like so many of my friends. Be sure to ask for a «pocket,» which is not exactly on the menu.

I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t love this place! Went here all through living in Brookline for years and being a college student at Ai — the Owner offers the starving student special, it was $ 5 for a packed burrito when I first started going and it came w a drink! As much as I love Annas Taqueria, it can never supersede Bajas!!! BAJA burritos are just far better. They give more meat, the meat and ingredients are more thuroughly cooked, nd Oh Yeah: THEYDON’T CHARGEEXTRAFORGUACANDSOURCREAM! Major plus! Plus the owner actually wants to have a conversation with you! Call me crazy but I’d much rather pay the 1 or 2 extra bucks for the friendly experience and better tasting burrito then save a few and go to Annas. I hope Bajas stays open forever!

Good solid lunch options. Fresh and tasty. Don’t give mmhim grief about authenticity; the food is good and prices are reasonable. The brownies are awesome. Owner is a nice guy; it’s a good local business to support.

Very solid burritos, with a touch of creativity. I love that this is not a chain. I used to be a Boca Grande devote, but this place has really grown on me. The owner is a great guy and I love supporting this local business. Not much seating, but a pleasant place for a quick lunch.

It’s a quick place to grab decent food. I feel though I’m paying a little too much for what they actually give you on the plate. I’ve given the chicken a few chances to be good, but found I only like the ground beef. Their burritos are very messy so I now stick to a burrito bowl.

Love the starving student special. Good amount of food. Favorite fillings are the red chicken, spicy pork, grilled corn.

OMG, SOGOOD!!! Everything from the amazing pork to the outstanding sauces are made fresh here. It is the best burrito I have ever had! They also serve local ice cream which is great.

Mediocre at Best! Baja Betty’s is located in the heart of Brookline Village close to several major condo complexes and a quick walk from the T. Specializing in basically Tex-Mex style burritos, this is a quick-meal place without much ambiance. It’s mostly for pick-up/dine-out. Offering the usual standard fare when it comes to burritos, one of the most annoying things is that they are frequently out of some of the marinated meats. I have gone in around 5:30PM, and they have been out of the marinated beef. Now, either they had a stampede of hungry velociraptors that ate it all up or they just didn’t make the meat that day. Either way… Annoying. The burritos themselves are kind of bland and unremarkable. Baja Betty’s is convenient but not up to the par of Anna’s. I’d rather trek to Anna’s and enjoy my meal than eat at Baja Betty’s and wonder why I didn’t just go the distance to for a good burrito.

Well food was tasty, but the guy working was extremely skimpy with the food. It was as if he was serving a baby putting a spoonful of rice in the container. Had to ask for a bit more rice. I was lucky to even get what I received. I guess if your on a diet and need little portions you can throw away some money over here. Nothing special to revisit.

You know the place: Friendly service, step-up-to-the-console sort of ordering environment with a little salsa bar. It’s among the best of its kind. I’d like to see a little more variety in the salsa bar… Do keep in mind that this rating is evaluated in relation to other comparable places, and isn’t intended to be compared with my rating of Genki e.g.

I really wanted to like Baja Betty’s. They seemed like that hole-in-the-wall establishment that was filled with wonderful surprises. Needless to say — there weren’t many wonderful things happening here. Upon entering Baja, I was shocked to see how much of a dive this place actually was. It was divey and dirty — not my favorite combo. I tried to ignore it as I skimmed the menu, and to their credit, it’s a pretty decent menu. The guy who eventually took our order and made our food had returned to his station after about spending ten minutes in the bathroom. When nature calls, you need to answer; however, I didn’t want to question whether or not this guy was sterilized enough to make my dinner. My friend and I paid for our food and peaced out. We went back our apartment to try it out, and it was simply alright. There was nothing special about my burrito, and I would have much rather have gone to Chipotle than waste my money on a less than authentic burrito.

Bland. Saw reviews but didn’t think it could be that bland really. Was very very wrong. Have never tasted something with so little flavor, that even adding hot sauce only tasted like hot sauce floating on blandness. We had carnitas… could never have imagined it was even possible to make carnitas so void of flavor. Owner was reeeeeeeeaaaally nice, which is only reason it’s 2 stars and not 1.

Fact #1: my mouth can not handle anything spicier than«mild.» Fact #2: even *I* think that these burritos are bland. I work nearby and really want Baja Betty’s to be awesome, because, let’s face it, sometimes a girl needs a burrito! I always get the Baja Bettys(one filling) and have tried the grilled chicken, red chicken, and the beef in hopes that one of them would be more flavorful than the other. So far… no luck. That said, the owner is so nice and their brownies are seriously delicious. Please, Baja’s…start adding some pepper or paprika or something to add taste. Then I can come here all the time and fill the burrito-shaped hole in my soul.

I really want to like this place(nice owner), but damn’t I have standards. This place should be called ‘Baja Betty’s BLAND Bore-itos’! Get it?! BORE-ITOS! Ha! Rice: undercooked, flavorless. Chicken: stringy, no flavors of anything resembling Latino cuisine. Edible, but not pleasant at all… This to me is unacceptable! Throw some fucking Spanish paprika in the mix! Cilantro? Something!!! You have a vast ocean of wonderful flavors and ingredients to work with! Get it together man! DOESANYONEACTUALLYGIVE A SHITABOUTFOODANYMORE?!? I am shocked that they are still around.

I used to come here a lot when I first started working in the area because there isn’t an Anna’s around here. This place depending on the time is a one-man show and sometimes you will see 1 or 2 others. The place is small but cozy. Loved the décor inside. The owner is very nice. Everything is made fresh and so many things to choose from. A couple of years ago, he made a starving student’s special where it was $ 5 for a burrito and a drink and now has gone up to $ 6. I suppose i can ask for that but i don’t. I am a loyal local business supporter and he’s super nice even if the price is a bit higher than other places. This place is worth it though. I would have given a 3.5 stars but it doesn’t quite deserve 4 so i have to leave it at 3.
