You say $ 10 minimum but when I ordered I was told $ 20. Which is absurd. Not only that it wasn’t until after I told the girl answering the phone where I lived that she informed me it was $ 20 which makes me think if I were closer it would have just been $ 10. It was a shameless attempt to sphere me for more money. I have ordered from here before and the minimum has always been $ 10. I will never order from here again.

Always great food and service. I don’t mind the wait for the food because it’s always amazing!

First of all, like everyone’s said… the delivery. My frijoles paisas arrived an hour late, and when I called the restaurant to see where it was, all I got was, «We just have a lot of orders, okay?» with zero apology. Second of all, this food is an embarrassment to authentic Mexican cooking. I’ve tasted more seasoning coming out of Chili’s than I did in this meal.

Horrible service. I ordered delivery at 8pm, expected it by 9:20, and didn’t receive it. I called to ask if the driver was on his way yet by 9:45 When I told the woman I ordered delivery and it was late, she responded with, «So?»

Okay, I do believe these horror stories about delivery. The service can be slow even if you are eating in at Montecristo; they get loads of orders. But why the high rating from me? Because the food is delicious. The beans can be a little watery, but everything else(enchiladas, platters, and especially the mountain and Montecristo plates if you’re willing to spend a few extra bucks) is done really well. Montecristo can be a tad pricey if you order something other than a burrito(I’m gluten free) but it’s worth it.

I had terrible service the first time around, but I gave it another shot and it was JUST as bad. The first time, I ordered food at 8pm(nothing crazy, just chicken and rice) and it did not arrive until AFTER10pm. I called several times and each time was assured my food was«on the way, just 10 more minutes). I was hoping the food would be SO good that I would dismiss the wait, but it was generic and tasteless. The second time, I ordered breakfast from them at 9:45am, with a 1-hour expected delivery, which is fine. When the food wasn’t here 20 minutes after the delivery window, I called and they said they had no record of my order. They then scrambled around and said«oh no, it’s on it’s way, another 10 minutes.» 20 minutes AFTER that phone call(so 40 minutes after the initial delivery window), and the food still hasn’t shown up yet. I will NEVEREVER order from here again. Terrible service and the food is not worth it.

This is for their delivery only: As many others have stated, their delivery timing is HORRIBLE. I live 15 minutes away, with traffic and other deliveries, let’s make that 30 min. My food, a simple burrito, came an hour and 40 minutes later. A burrito should have taken 10 minutes to make, at most. Food: it’s pretty good. It would have been better had it been warm. Protip: eat in. Don’t get delivery. If you do, order 1.5 hrs ahead of time.

This restaurant serves latino /mexican food at convenient location for those working at Longwood area. Sometimes it gets crowded. Here are the specifics of my review: 1. The menu is been consistent in the past several years with pretty much no change. 2. Staff is not customers oriented, and the lady at cashier may overcharge for your meal. Watch out. I got $ 4.00 overcharged with no explanation. 3. Food can be good or bad depending on the mood of cookers. It lacks consistency and in very few cases I was feed with spoiled food. 4. Be aware that you may freeze if you sit next to the door. 5. And sometimes the music is overwhelming!!! I need peace please!!!

Do yourselves a favor and don’t order from Monte Cristo. I found myself unable to leave work so I ordered from them through foodler to be delivered. They called me and told me they couldn’t find parking and told me to walk up a couple streets to get my order. Couldn’t do that because 1) I was stuck in my store, hence why I requested delivery. 2) I paid and tipped for delivery. I asked them if they’re unable to deliver it like I paid for, to please cancel the order and give me a refund, to which they declined and told me to call foodler. I called foodler and they said they can’t refund me without authorization from the restaurant and they declined citing I «wasn’t available at the time of delivery» So after exposing their lie and jumping through some hoops I got my refund in the form of foodler bucks, with no help from this shitty excuse for a restaurant. They were perfectly ok with charging me $ 17 for literally nothing. Steer. Clear.

Horrible disgusting food. They got our to go order wrong. Then we returned it and they re made all, making us wait another 30 minutes. We ate… Disgusting… maybe on purpose for is, no idea. Maybe the inside dining is a much better experience.

Ordered a burrito and my room mate got enchiladas and a smoothie. The delivery took a half hour longer than they told me, but the food wasn’t cold. Still, kinda annoying. Burrito was pretty good, carnitas were delicious, the rice was just a little bland. Star of the show was the banana smoothie, though.

If you walk into this place then you’ll hear all the workers speaking Spanish, so that’s always a good sign. However, the food was all right… you get a lot of food, but the quality of the food isn’t the best. I got the chicken quesadilla and I can testify that it is stuffed and huge with meat, beans, sour cream, guac(doesn’t cost extra $), cheese, and etc, but it wasn’t the best quesadilla I’ve had. Overall, if you’re stuck in Brigham Circle area and you really want some decent Mexican food then this place will give you that, but I’d definitely prefer El Pelon hands down to satisfy my Mexican food cravings. Also, don’t get delivery… it takes sooo long and by the time you get the food it is pretty soggy, mushy, and cold.

Hole in the wall Mexican. Good service and tasty food. We has chicken tacos, chorizo nachos, and a carnitas burrito. Everything was good. This place is not fine dining, but it was perfect for our late Sunday lunch.

I had delivery from Monte Cristo. While the delivery itself was successful(something that people here seem also to be questioning), the food was not so great. I like to think that I’m willing to try new things. Mexican usually isn’t very new. For some reason it always feels like it involves different arrangements of the same core ingredients. So while it can be good, it is never especially novel. I go in with that expectation. At Monte Cristo, the food was ok, a solid 3 on the Unilocal 5-star system. I also like to think, however, that I have an iron stomach. I eat spicy things all the time, I eat raw meat that I get at the grocery store not infrequently, I make poor decisions about how long to keep leftovers often enough. The tacos I got from Monte Cristo made me reasonably ill, day of purchase. Hour of purchase, even. Suffice to say, I will not be returning. There are many other options in the Brigham Circle area. While I am sure that most of their food is not as sickness inducing as the tacos I had(or else their reviews would be worse than they already are), I would just rather not do that again. Take a pass on this one.

this is one of my favorite places to get mexican food in boston. portion sizes are good and the food tastes better than average in comparison to several other mexican restaurants ive tried in boston. Their enchiladas are amazing and their tacos are always a safe choice. they never disappoint. delivery usually takes 30 minutes to an hour on busier days but the food is always hot when it arrives.

I have never had a good experience with Montecristo. It is unbelievable. I have given them terrible reviews for when I have ordered delivery but I hadn’t actually ate in before now. The owner really should reevaluate their business. The day was moderately busy. The server didn’t see me for 10 minutes, forgot my drink, and didn’t even bring us napkins or check on us. My fiancée and I ordered the Montecristo plate and the Mountain dish. The beans were okay. Rice was edible. One thing that I found weird is that their chicharrón isn’t the usual fried pork shoulder/skin. It was more like ham. Fried ham… Very odd. My experiences with this establishment have all been disappointing. I won’t ever order or eat-in at this place again. My advice to you all, stay away if you know what real Mexican food is like.

I ordered for delivery. I was happy with the speed. I received my food in less than 30 minutes which was great. Ordered a grilled chicken platter– there was a lot of food but very bland. Not bad but also not delicious. The tamal was great though! Its huge and packed with a lot of flavor. For dessert ordered tree leches cake. It was dry. My kids didn’t eat it. What kid refuses cake?! None… It was just not good. Would order again but wouldn’t crave it. Also too pricey for the taste.

Nope nope nope.* This review is for delivery. Placed on order via Foodler at 12:20pm. Delivery estimate was 1pm. I had a meeting, so I rescheduled to 1:30pm. Just a burrito and a pupusa. 1:45pm, no food, so I called the restaurant. The woman I spoke to said the driver was stuck in traffic but very close. Half an hour later(2:15pm), delivery driver calls me to tell me he’s outside… even though I’m in an office building and put my office location on the order. I mean, come on dude… you’re 45 minutes late, and you can’t even be bothered to bring the food up to me? Why am I paying a delivery fee? The food wasn’t cold, but it wasn’t warm. It also came in an inordinate amount of styrofoam, which I’m not about. The cherry on top was the takeout menu, which says«GODBLESSYOU» across the front. Come on… you don’t know me. *This is the most millennial/white whine Unilocal review I can remember ever writing.
