I went here today to open a CD. The bank representative takes you into an enclosed but open area to set up your account. Two chairs and a tablet. Not very private for performing financial transactions. The reason for the one star rating is that the bank has an online page that quotes CD rates. When I went to this location taking my time and gas to get there … I was informed that I could not open a CD without opening a checking account. This is not mentioned where the rates are listed so I find this to be deceptive and misleading. Needless to say I walked out and will be transacting my business at another bank that doesn’t require a checking account.

Recently went here to open an account. I had the pleasure of working with Joshua. He was not only knowledgeable but also humorous and polite to talk with. During the set up process we encountered a hiccup with a previous password. Joshua stayed calm and friendly during the 40 minutes it took to deal with multiple phone calls and a few hang ups. He got the situation cleared up and even offered my boyfriend and I a free beverage from the café as we waited. I am impressed with the service and am looking forward to my new account with Capital One 360 thanks to the help I received at this location.

What a great addition to Coolidge Corner! For the longest time, this corner location at the heart of Coolidge Corner remained vacant. It seems that every day businesses were being replaced by yet another bank. But if we’re going to get yet another bank, then a refreshing one like Capital One is better than the alternative. I love what they’ve done with the space. It doesn’t feel like a bank because it’s a café! And there are plenty of seats to sit around. They also did it in a way where it’s not just everyone on a laptop. There are people reading, talking, and gives a really great vibe. And the best thing? You get 50% off all drinks if you use a Capital One credit card. Doesn’t get better than that. Why get Peets at Peets when you can get Peets for 50% off at Capital One Café? I know I’ll be spending more time reading and sipping.

As much as I thought it was a pretty odd concept at the beginning, the Capital One 360 Café in Coolidge Corner has become my absolute favorite place to get a coffee-type-drink. It’s got a relaxed and unpretentious vibe which I love. It might be the mix of bank staff with Peets staff, but everyone there is super laid back and friendly. And, to top it they have the best almond milk green tea lattes around.

As a café, it’s one of the best places in town to get a lot of work done. Comfy chairs, good lighting, A/C that’s not set to «freeze». Always a good vibe of people in and out of the café. I’ve had some great conversations with people I’ve met there. That doesn’t ever seem to happen at other mainstream cafés for me. Peet’s Coffee, in my opinion, is far superior to most cafés in Boston. Oh, and none of the baristas have any attitude. So refreshing. JJ and Thao are just some of the sweetest people you’ll meet. As a bank, it’s great. I’ve set up a few accounts. I’ve worked with Brian S. who is extremely knowledgeable about all of their products and is much more about finding a solution for the problem you’re trying to solve instead of selling you something you don’t need. He and the rest of the staff are really friendly and funny. It’s kind of become my «Cheers.» Everyone knows my name. :)

I’m an Australian, now living in Brookline for 5 years. My dealings with Capital One over the past two weeks have been so incredibly positive I felt compelled to get a new Unilocal password and log in to my account for the first time in a few years just so I could publicly sing their praises. I applied for a Capital One business credit card following an offer mailed to my business address. The application was easy. Part of the incentive to open the account with Capital One rather than the other banks I’ve held accounts with throughout my business-life was the bonus that was offered for this particular card. I was accepted for the credit account and happily began using the card for required purchases. My business then had a slight setback and I no longer qualified for the bonus. Such is life… unless you’re a Capital One customer! Enter the 360 Café in Coolidge Corner… I walked in with my wife around 10.15am to grab a quick coffee and a snack. We love Peet’s coffee and had been to this location before a number of times, and the Capital One staff had often said hi and asked if we had any questions, but never once harrassed us. This time Beth Ricci(Asst Café Manager) very pleasantly asked if we had any questions and I thought I’d ask the long shot question about my account bonus. Beth made a phone call while we were drinking our coffee and promised I’d hear back from a Customer Service Rep. Years of mediocre-to-bad interactions with banks set me up to expect I would hear nothing more. Around 3.30pm the same day I received a phone call from an equally professional service rep saying they’re reviewing my account to see if there’s any way to requalify me for the bonus. A mere one week later I receive yet another call from a different, also über-friendly rep saying my account has re-qualified for the bonus. That’s way beyond anything I’ve ever experienced regarding my business or personal banking in the past! But it doesn’t end there! I walk in to the same Café today, intending to thank Beth(if she was even there) and she spotted me first, smiled, walked over and greeted me by name(Wow!) and asked about the outcome. When I told her, she seemed as happy as I was! I challenge any other finacial institution to match that! And Beth — you are forever in my books as a model of spectacular customer service. Thank you! I’m now converted… a Capital One customer for life!

Well these capital one café’s are an interesting twist on coffee shops. This one is small and has limited seating, but also doesn’t get too crowded so you might get lucky and find a table. The staff behind the counter look a little new and service isn’t perfect yet, but they’re new to town and they’ll probably work out the kinks over time. The salesman inside for capital one were not aggressive at all and didn’t bother anyone. They’re there in case you have questions or want to sign up for something. I was a bit concerned they’d be all up on me trying to get me to sign up for something, but I was pleasantly surprised. All around it’s an interesting place, but most importantly they have Pete’s coffee!

Despite becoming somewhat of a 360 café regular and possessing a Capital One account, I’m still a bit perplexed by the 360 Café model. It’s basically a Peets coffee shop, with the perk that drinks are half price if you pay with a Capital One card! There is usually a capital one employee or two hanging around to answer questions, but aside from a friendly hello, they leave you alone(no pushes to open an account or anything). Unfortunately, as Peets cafes go, this one comes up short. Drinks are inconsistently prepared; employees sometimes seem not to even know how to make certain drinks on the menu. There is ample seating, but with the exception of a few big comfy chairs that are usually taken at busy times, it’s mostly hard stools at a counter against the window. Take note of the hours: the café is on a bank schedule, which means it’s closed Sundays, holidays, and evenings.

I am not quite sure what the banking component of this is, but this prime location is a great place for a 50% off coffee shop. Can’t complain about that at all. Limited seating, but would be a nice place to study otherwise

As much as I hated to see yet another bank moving in to the Coolidge neighborhood– seriously, there’s like 15 of them within a few blocks, can’t we get some other kind of businesses up in here?-, I’ve been a Capital One 360 member long before it was Capital One 360, and so I was actually happy for this place to open so I could have the convenience of a brick-and-mortar branch nearby. I was even more happy to find out that I can get the full menu of Peet’s handcrafted drinks for 50% off just for being a member– my trip in the other day left me with a delicious well-crafted iced coconut latte(including the best part of any Peet’s iced latte, the foamed cold milk) for only $ 2, served to me with a smile by the very friendly staff. I don’t know how this will fare as compared to the other Peet’s location across the street, but it’s hard to argue with 50% off, so I know where I’ll be getting my lattes(and doing my CO360 banking) from now on…
