Jack is the the best especially for difficult prescriptions!

This is my favorite eyeglass shop anywhere. It’s run by an older gentleman of the old school, who knows his stuff backwards and forwards and will give you excellent advice about which options to chose and exactly what difference they may make for you. It is pricey, and many of the frames are high end. However, the quality and craftsmanship on the lenses iis excellent: I’m very fussy and he found me a beautiful frame which looks amazing on my face.

On a technical level, the owner/operator/optician knows his stuff. I am not talking about the esthetics, I think that is up to the customer. But rather when a frame is too large for certain lenses, which lenses are difficult for high diopter perscriptions and he is meticulous in taking measurements, etc. His manner might be gruff on the outside, so I would say that you should already know what you want pretty well when going in, but if you want excellent execution and filling of your prescription you got elsewhere, this might be a good choice. Vizio in Brookline village gets all the nice reviews, but I found the staff there very nice, but low on technical knowledge, just a few very junior people who knew little about lenses, optics, high-density lenses, double sided correction, etc.
