THEBEST corned beef(Corned Beef Rachel) sandwich that I’ve ever had! Generous portion of meat with the right amount of slaw between two lightly toasted slices of bread. The potato salad was perfect with the sandwich. I’ve got to come back!

Ok this review has been a long time coming. Michaels deli has become a Saturday tradition. We usually get a Rachel and it is truly top notch. Every sandwich we have tried from simple egg salad to crazy chip-including Italian to supporting a good cause black and gold has been on point. One of our favorite parts are the weekly«krazy knish» combinations. We look forward every week to the fun and creative flavors and themes and have yet to have one we didn’t enjoy! Great food and the people are always friendly and nice! A really great Coolidge corner gem!

Super great place. Such friendly people, such good food. Awesome all around. Both the pastrami and corned beef were heavenly.

The meats, the sandwiches(I’m partial to the Rueben, or the lox on an everything bagel), knishes, pickles … everything here is good. Though the place is very no frills, true deli style, it has a great staff to add to the amazing food

The one star only applies only to the beef brisket I ordered. It was atrocious did not know that it came boiled! When I’ve had beef brisket in the past at other delis it did come boiled guess i’m use to brisket right out the oven and on to a bulkie roll. Not quite ready to give up on this place yet but when I do I definitely will not order the brisket.

I love this place, everything they make is absolutely delicious! I am however a particular fan of the Tongue Reuben, it is the single best sandwich I have ever tasted. You can’t go wrong with a side of pickles and getting a knish. To top off the great food, the staff is fantastic, always friendly, do their jobs great… and the newish owner is really dedicated to making sure his customers like coming back. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

Took my daughter and granddaughters here, on Marathon day. Had a nice meal and I enjoyed my pastrami on dark rye, and a taste of a turkey sandwich. Food good, folks friendly and busy!

i was told anthony bourdain ate here, which is all i really need to know to be like, ok im going there. still kindof stuffed from brunch, but hey, tony’s always stuffing his face in interesting places. i always wondering how he ate so much in a given day. does he do cardio between takes? anyways, i can imagine him doing his whole new york vs boston jewish deli comparison, which is what im here doing, all like, thank god this isnt stuffed to the ceiling like a katz deli sandwich. really great reuben though. good bread, lightly toasted, nicely doused in sauce and saurkraut. maybe tony took a bite and went like«aw yeah». idk i haven’t seen the episode, and i spent a whole summer watching his show. but but… sigh, the 5 star streak comes to an end. its a good sandwich but the vibe is kind of underwhelming. i expected more buzz. more excitement. maybe its like that around lunch, not at 4pm, which is a weird hour to stuff your face. but i just spent the last hour riding around on the duck tour, and all these us history factoids and general america, fuck yeah, pride made me feel snacky. for 9 bucks, its a worthy last meal before i hurdle back to the jewish capital of the world, new york city.

I would always walk the trek from BU to Michael’s once a week after class. Had to stop because $ 9 for just the sandwich is a bit outside a college student’s budget. Worth a special treat once in a while, no doubt.

We ordered a hot pastrami sandwich. The pastrami was excellent but the portion was average. We had a side of horseradish potato salad and the potatoes were not completely cooked. The staff was very kind and polite. the establishment was clean. It was cold inside so we never took off our coats. We enjoyed it, glad we tried it but still think Katz in NYC is the best.

I’ve been in a few times and tried various sandwiches, all of which are tasty. I hadn’t thought to write a review, though, until I went in the the other day, when I had the Michael’s Choice, which was just delicious. I guess I looked extra pitiful that day because I had a nasty cough, so the incredibly friendly staff gave me a cup of soup. Seriously, it made my day. And I felt better, too! So, if you’re feeling ill, go try the Jewish penicillin they’re dishing out at Michael’s. It’s magical.

Came here upon hearing good things about this place from a co-worker. I tried their Thorty Black and Gold(black pastrami with cheddar cheese, honey mustard, and hots served on Bulkie Roll) and my wife got the Beef Brisket with horseradish sauce on wheat. I personally thought the taste was just average. Nothing special at all. Just your regular, everyday, normal sandwich… This place is very expensive too. We ordered two sandwiches and the total came out to be $ 25 which is kind of outrageous if you think about it… Not sure if I’ll be visiting this place again… In my personal opinion, they overcharge too much and I really think you can find better, cheaper sandwich places other than here.

Michael’s Deli is an excellent spot for a hearty sandwich packed with good meats! The service was really friendly and helpful for a first timer like myself. I ordered one Reuben and one Rachel, difference being the sauerkraut or coleslaw usage, respectively, satisfying my craving and covering my bases in case my girlfriend didn’t like sauerkraut. The sandwiches were packed with corned beef, and served with sliced pickle. The Unilocal check-in offer is the best! I was able to get a side of coleslaw and potato salad, definitely the perfect touch to our sandwiches. Food came out quick, and is a favorite of mine for food to grab and go!

One of the best hot pastrami sandwiches I’ve ever had! Up there with Katz’s. Really fresh and flavorful meat made in-house. Can’t wait to come back and try the home-made knishes.

Chicken salad is one of my favorite kinds of sandwiches, so I’ve tried it at many places. Michael’s mango chicken salad is one of the best I have ever tasted. I got it on a sub with lettuce and tomato. I was thinking of getting a half, but so glad I got the full sub, I saved the rest of it for dinner! The sandwiches are huuuuge. Definitely recommend this place– I almost thought about taking it safe and going to Brueggers across the street, and I’m very glad I didn’t. Next time I’m in the area I will definitely be back.

Went here with the boyfriend to grab a sandwich on the way to watch the Pats game at a friend’s place in Watertown. We weren’t too hungry so we just decided to split one of the corned beef reubens. The corned beef reuben took about 5 minutes to come out and we were able to grab a seat in the restaurant. The corned beef was very fresh and flavorful and didn’t have any grissly pieces of meat that you often find in corned beef. The rye bread is pretty light, as is the sauerkraut and thousand island dressing, but it really allows the meat to stand out. Overall, this place has a great sandwich, though I’d love there to be a little more meat for the price – and don’t forget to check in on Unilocal to get a free side of coleslaw or potato salad(though the cole slaw was not anything to write home about).

Michaels deli outdid themselves for a recent shiva we had. The deli sandwiches were not only fresh and delicious but beautifully prepared. Personally delivered by the owner Steve. And the pickles… the best! Highly recommended.

Amazing sandwiches! Thick sandwiches, full of meat, delicious! I came once and got a pastrami sandwich, and let me tell you, it was once if the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! I swear, it was like 3 inches thick!!! Crazy loaded with pastrami!!! And it was perfectly cooked! I definitely recommend Michael’s Deli if you’re in the Brookline area craving a great sandwich!!!

If you’re looking for a not-so-hole-in-the-wall deli for lunch, look no further. Michael’s has won awards and garnered praise for years, but their true calling card is found in their welcoming and friendly staff, headed by the Corned Beef King himself. From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel more like you’re visiting old friends than stopping at a deli. To put it simply, the corned beef is phenomenal. It melts in your mouth, overflowing from the edges of the bread because it’s been piled on so high. Though the sandwiches generally leave me wishing for a better cheese to meat balance, the quality of the ingredients makes up for any disproportion. It simply does not get better than this outside of Manhattan. Additionally, they are still cash only, but there is a Capital One ATM on the corner that doesn’t charge withdrawal fees. You’ll need to shell out around $ 15 for a sandwich and drink(plus tip!), but for a once-in-a-while treat and top notch service, it’s well worth the cost.
