Oh my God ! They closed ! I called to make a reservation for myself and a few friends and for some reason I kept getting a busy signal. So I took a walk down to south 4th st. to speak to Daniel the Chef personally and instead ran into Evan, who was standing outside scratching his head wondering why they were not open. «I just came to get some fried chicken«he said, and then walked away after saying the«F «word a few times. I went in to the laundromat next door(I am a customer there as well) and asked if anyone new what time 82 South opens. The 2 girls that worked there looked over at the grumpy old man,(the owner… and somehow affiliated with 82 south) and he simply looked at me and said«it’s closed for good» …then turned his back and walked away. I really thought that this place was going to be the next rising star in Williamsburg. I practically tried the entire menu and was amazed every single time. This place was the bomb right out the gate. They food was excellent and very well priced, the ambiance was dim, laid back, relaxing and classy. The service was pretty much the best in town because everyone was just so damn cool. Daniel, I’m sure many people will miss you… I’m on your mailing list… keep me posted.

My friends and I came for the live music and drinks but ended up sitting down for an amazing meal. The place is chic, clean and the staff was very friendly. The chicken wings for appetizer by far was the best wings I ever had. I still remember the juicy, spicy, yet sweet and tangy crispy wings. I ordered the pork chops. I had the most succulent pork chops along with two sides(bok choy and wasabi mash potatoes) which I thought perfectly paired my meal. My friends and I had a great time and to top it off, when the bill came, it was less than what we expected. Wow. NOW that’s a bargain Great Eat!

The Spinach and Artichoke Dip is amazing. My boyfriend and I practically licked the bowl. The veggie burger was good but not great(although admittedly I prefer a soy based veggie burger). The mac and cheese was excellent. My boyfriend loves the regular burger. The bartender was super nice and the owner seemed like a cool guy. I’ll definitely be going back.

Disclosure: I live in the neighborhood… so, I totally should not be reviewing this or be giving it 4 stars ’cause I don’t want y’all keeping me up til the wee hours of the night waiting to get in. Damn, I know its good! I had the most perfect grilled-flavor-injected pork chops, covered in caramelized onions, with a side of wasabi-mash potatoes and sauteed bok choy. They turned comfort food into something cuisine’. I wish I had taken a picture of the food but, I was way to busy chowing down to consider aesthetics. The ambiance is dim and leaves something to be desired but the dread locked-cutie behind the bar beautifies the joint and is very helpful. So, try it out for yourself but be quiet and only tell quiet people about the place, ’cause I don’t really want it to be successful.(I just wanted to brag about my amazing meal.)

I was MORE than delighted to find a new restaurant open JUST across the street from one of my BFF’s house! My friends and I eat out way too much! We spend most of our time eating in The Park Slope and Williamsburg area. We NEVER could find a place in Williamsburg to suit us, that we could rely on… until we found 82 South! On site, the place looks great… very nice, very clean and very warm. Then you meet the staff, the most friendly and pleasant people you could ever hope to have serve you! Then you have the food! The food was so good! From the Spinach Artichoke dip… to the hummus and what is now THEBESTTURKEYBURGERINBROOKLYN!!! It was so juicy, so moist, tasty, flavorful… with Avocado, Cranberry Aioli and more yummy goodness! Thankfully they are open until 3AM on the weekends. Because when I had a craving for it at 2AM… I was able to go get one. I strongly suggest this place to any and everyone. It is worth a trip to Williamsburg! Great, food, great place, great time!
