I used this moving company many years ago. He offered a price and I accepted it. When it was time to move into my new apartment building, he complained that the narrow stairway made it difficult to get everything upstairs, and said that we either need to pay him more money or he would leave my bed and other furniture on the sidewalk. My girlfriend at the time was supervising the move while I was at work and she just paid him more because what else was she supposed to do in that situation? Jay had her in a bind and exploited us. Very dishonest stuff after we agree upon a price.

Jay moved me on a tight budget and did it on very short notice. This guy works hard with his staff and goes out of his way to make sure everything is protected well to prevent any damage. My move went with out a hitch and he saved me big bucks compared to the other estimates I received.

I called Jay’s Way for a last minute move and was given a decent rate so decided to go with them. I spoke with Jay, the owner, and he said that they would be able to do my move. He offered me a time window, and I told him I would check with the staff in the apartment I was moving in to and would confirm that time slot within the hour. I called back and no one answered. I called back the next day and Jay said he was out of the office but would return my call within the hour, however he did not so I sent an email saying that I needed to confirm my time. No one answered that e-mail, so I called the next morning and Jay said he didn’t think they could do the time originally discussed. I asked if there where other times within that window, and he said it might not even be possible to move me that day. He didn’t give any legitimate reason, just made excuses as to why they couldn’t do the move as originally discussed(the weather, the fact that it was the first of the month — even though he had said they had movers available that day). I’m glad I didn’t pay in advance.
