Went in here for the first time today. With such glowing reviews on Unilocal,we were looking forward to making it our go to place for deli and prepared Italian. After waiting 10 minutes with only one other customer, the two guys behind the counter never even made eye contact with me. Looked good, but rude service is a deal breaker.

BEST Sandwiches in… the World! Charlie is a master sandwich chef, seriously, if you want an Italian sandwich that will blow your tastebuds, get it here. The selection and choice of toppings is up to you, none of that charging extra for an additional topping or sorry that’s not one of our combos, nope, here you just let your eyes feast and tell Charlie what looks good and he will whip up a fantastic sandwich for you. For only $ 12 bucks or so!!! And these sandwiches are huge! I usually get hot capicola, hot peppers, fresh mozzarella, thick sliced tomato, basil, balsamic and oil. Give it a try and tell Charlie that Jacqueline recommended you, we’ll see if we can get the sandwich to be named. Also their homemade sausages are great. But the sandwich, phew, you don’t need to even tell Charlie to toast the bread a bit he does it automatically mixing in some magic for a truly phenomenal taste!(I was not paid for this review, I’m just that passionate about these sandwiches, I take everyone I know here to try it!)

I actually don’t know about the rest of their food(although it looks pretty great) I am just so happy to have found real Italian confetti in Brooklyn! My husband and I had these at our wedding – his side of the family is Italian – and I have been craving them ever since. They carry Maxtris, which is the best I’ve ever had. While I’d much rather go to Italy to get them myself, I’m really happy to have this place in my neighborhood :)

OMGoodness! This place rocks! No place better– the food is incredible– the meat is fresh the pasta is fresh the sauce is better then I have ever had– the people are amazingly sweet and kind– the place smells delicious! I love this place and it’s part of the reason I do not want to move.

This is the place for great cuts of beef, pork, veal etc. They make their own Sopressata and other cured sausages. if you go at the right time they even have their own in house dry aged beef. Prices range(for dry aged beef) 20−29/lb. its well worth it. Charlie and Danny are great people. Friendly, knowledgeable and always accomodating. Everything here is fresh, from Murray’s chickens to a Prime Rib roast. these guys really are a quintessential butcher/italian shop. They accept cash and all credit cards(discover included). They make party platters, amazing sandwiches, and some great prepared foods. Give them a try you’ll be glad you stopped in.

For me, the best things to get here are the heros, chicken cutlets, and the Italian bread. The downside is that customer service and food quality is an issue.

Ugh. They get 2 stars because their food is good. They should get one for their service. Specific instructions, not written down by service person, got home, food WRONG. I’m sorry — I don’t want to spend $ 12 on a sandwich and have it be exactly what I did not want it to me. I said NO mayo and please add lettuce and tomato. Guess what — I got mayo and no lettuce and tomato. I’m sorry — your job is not that hard to get something like this right. I hear they’re up for sale — probably because their service SUCKS.

My wife and I love this market! Their meat cuts are always of great quality and we especially like the hot Italian sausage. Even better is the habanero sausage, which has to be ordered in advance. I believe they use brandy when making it. It’s a little pricey, but tastes amazing. If you can get there early enough, they have a pretty decent Italian bread selection. They also make incredible sandwiches. Highly recommended!

I come here at least 2 times a week to pick up food. They have a great deal on chicken cutlets and I usually by them 3lbs at a time. Imported meats and cheese, look no further. Great local shop with a great local feel. Prepared foods look really good and they now have booths in the back where you can sit and eat. Mangia!

I go here for the kind of Italian ‘sangwich’ my grandmother would make. Everything is done old school. I go here for prosciutto, salamis, ‘talian bread, cheeses and their fresh chicken cutlets at less than $ 3.00 per lb. in a world where mom and pop shops no longer exist, it’s a blessing to have them in the nabe. Their prepared foods are ‘meh’ but all of the above outranks them all. Makes me proud to live in Brooklyn!

Good in a pinch. Too many other Italian specialty stores in Brooklyn. Don’t be fooled.

UPDATE: This establishment recently underwent a remodel in favor of more sit down seating. They do not have a lot of the specialty and refridgerated items they carried before the remodel. Also, there is a newish younger employee who has poor attention to detail. What really set this place apart was the quality meat and deli items combined with great service. That’s not so apparent anymore. The new guy is the one who seems to be the one I’m always stuck with when I order. He’s sloppy with deli cuts and packaging and from the way he seems constantly put out, I don’t think he cares. It’s like pulling teeth dealing with him. Pretty disappointed the last few times I’ve been in. PREVIOUS: Please note that I have never ordered a meal at Artisan Food Valley. Why not? I don’t even know. Perhaps, it’s just a personal flaw of mine because the ingredients they use are TO. DIE. FOR. Let me explain. This place is *the best* market in Bay Ridge for cold cuts, cured meats, Italian cheeses, sausage, and deli foods. It’s one of the best I’ve ever been to. Mozzarella made daily isn’t unusual in this neighborhood, but combine that with better sausages than my own grandparents used to make, a fantastic selection of reasonably priced aged, prime beef, homemade sopresatta, prosciuttos, Iberico hams, fresh and aged Italian cheeses at better-than-grocery prices, breads, olives, fresh pastas — it’s a den of brilliant(and delicious) decadence. Don’t be afraid to ask for a sample either. These guys KNOW that they have the best, and aren’t afraid to let the food speak for itself. I would mop the floors of this place just to be paid in their food.

The best deli I’ve been to in Brooklyn. Fresh, quality rolls and all other ingredients, an array of specialty imported products, careful sandwich making, and amazing house made sopressata. The only negative is they close at 9 pm, but such is often the case with true quality places

Way south of Downtown Brooklyn, this is where you go to get your cold cuts and cheese fix. Slabs of smoked, cured, roasted meats hanging from the ceiling, high quality produce and delicious pre-made food will entice anyone walking into this shop. The chicken cutlets are amazing– juicy, not overly greasy, minimally breaded. The prosciutto tastes fresh and delicate. They toast the bread, they carry unpasteurized cheeses, their sandwiches are huge(with a price to match) and they definitely don’t skimp on the mozzarella. A few reasons they are not getting five stars: the service could use a bit of improvement, and a few tables inside would seat those who want to eat their tasty sandwiches still warm.

Fresh, delicious selection of meats and cheeses. Try the sheep’s milk cheese and salami!

If you’ve been to Arthur Ave, and even if you haven’t, you will appreciate this Italian grocer. They have cheese, meat, all kinds of Italian specialty goods, in addition to regular groceries like produce, etc. I got a great price on chicken cutlets behind their butcher counter. The owner/employee was super friendly and gave me a free foccaccia pizza which would have been awesome even if it HADN’T been delicious. I’ll definitely be returning for meat, pasta, and other delicious essentials. Note: Lupara Mozzarella di Bufala was $ 5.50 here. It’s $ 8.99 on Fresh Direct.

I adore the food at Artisan Valley ALMOST as much I love the staff: both are outstanding! The quality and care in which they take in preparing the food, the specialty Italian products that are hard to find in Bay Ridge and the sandwiches, OH, the sandwiches!!! The deli selection is truly the finest in the neighborhood: fresh, quality meats and cheeses. This is a very special market and I hope everyone stops by and gives them the opportunity to wow you with their outstanding customer service, quality product and unique selection of Italian goods. My recommendations: a great, quick lunch for the kids is the foccacia bread pizza, $ 3.50, serves all three of us and it’s delicious. Fresh foccacia, provolone, buffalo mozzarella, manzanilla tomatoes and fresh basil. Heat for 10 minutes on 350 degrees, quickest, yummiest pizza around! And the kids love it as much as I do!

If you are ever in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, which if you aren’t from there I don’t know why you would be, but if you ever are this place is a must! everything from the home made mozzarella to the proscuitto, to the home made sauce is outstanding! Yes it can get a little pricey but think about it. Y ouare getting the freshest of the fresh! Some of it even made in store! So it’s completely worth it! I know what you are thinking now… Leave it to me to drool and swoon over a store with sausages hanging from the ceiling but I’m really not kidding when I say that I’ve been going to this place since it opened not only cause I get hot flashes but also cause the food is killer! Deliciously Living, Michael

This place is incredible. It has great selection of cheese and meat. If you love prosciutto or sopressata — this is the place. Service was really good and friendly. Jessi introduced us to the best selection of cheese and was very helpful. I highly recommend this great deli. Me and my wife are the fans from now on.

Lover of sopressetta? Their homemade sweet is just that. Don’t be impatient as they patiently wash it, remove the skin and slice it for you. That, the aged fontina with some sun dried tomato, capers and a glass of barolo was transporting… and their homemade Genovese parmesan dip is going to transform our T-Day turkey into a memorable yum. Love them!
