I love love love this place! The food is EXCELLENT and the delivery guy is super nice; the food always arrives hot and quickly. My only complaint(which isn’t really a complaint) is that I wish they served their soups earlier in the day.

Fresh, delicious, and the price was right. Only complaint would be delivery time(about 50 minutes) and the fact that they were out of whole wheat bread(which they called to let me know about beforehand, so it’s all good). Well-prepared, and the vegetable spring rolls were excellent and included some of the tastiest peanut sauce to have ever graced my lips. Will definitely be re-upping with Banhmigos soon.

Amazing! I have never had bahn mi this good! There was the perfect ration of meat and vegetables and it was piping hot, which was great for a chilly day. My fiancé and I got the chicken and short ribs, and we couldn’t decide which was better. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, and the short ribs melted in your mouth. Definitely will be going back when I’m in the area.

I was afraid this would be a Spanish Bahn Mi as per the name of the place! No worries. The pork on the traditional sandwich is well flavored and they ask how spicy– so it was perfectly medium spiced for me. The hot Vietnamese coffee was sweet sweet as it should be. A definite return.

Use to love this place but the sandwiches got smaller and it’s just not as good. I like that they have a whole wheat bread option and that they have different level of spice options. They don’t do stamp cards anymore either. The grilled pork is probably the best out of what they have but it’s not worth its price. This is not the traditional type of banh mi. I would say it’s americanized. Salads are good too but that was a couple years ago. Not sure how it is now. I also tried the traditional banh mi, beef short ribs and portabella mushroom. The mushroom is just plain sad. Not sure how they get away with charging $.750 for that. Won’t be back.

Had an Eat24 coupon so I decided to place an order with Banhmigos on my way home. Got a classic banh mi and an order of shrimp rolls to meat the minimum spend requirements. The first few bites of the bahn mi were all bread, and it was much too crunchy for me. I had low hopes, but by the end of the sandwich I said, well ok that was good, but not amazing. Then I had the shrimp rolls. I’m a sucker for peanut sauce, so these things had me sold. They were also huge and delicious. With my discounts, the meal was under $ 10. Pretty amazing. It’s still nothing compared to what I ate in Vietnam, but it was pretty good for the US of A.

Got the grilled pork and beef short ribs banh mis. Both were tasty but the grilled pork was definitely the winner of the two with a nice char taste. I thought overall it was a delicious, filling lunch but definitely felt they went light handed on the pickled veggies, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. P. S. The shrimp summer rolls with peanut sauce are great! Fresh and delicious. Plus it comes in a nice package if you’re getting take out.

Came here with my friend who loves this place. We got the spicy chicken bahn mi. The wait was about 10 minutes, which isn’t bad. The chicken was so tender and spicy like they advertized. It was layered with Sriracha, just FYI. The veggies are crunchy and nicely pickled. The bread was toasted and not too hard, hooray! Definitely pricey but I think this comes with the territory, it being in Brooklyn and park slope and all.

What happened to this joint??? They use to stuff the heck out of their banh mi’s with vegetables and now they don’t.why??? I came here just for that. I had the portabella mushroom that was oven glazed with extra virgin olive oil, Tofu and Veggie chicken banh mi’s. They were all good and flavorful but I was just too disappointed with the amount of veggies. The bread was very crispy to my liking and I can’t get over the amount of veggies they put in it! The Vietnamese coffee was too sweet.

Ordered: Rice vermicelli salad with beef short ribs, and Smoked duck breast roll Pros – Short ribs were flavorful and the rice vermicelli was light in a good way. Great prices. Cons – Duck was too salty. More of a take-out than eat-in place.

This is a small shop with a counter and a few stools that face the street. I ordered the grilled pork. It’s tasty, but I don’t think it’s that authentic. The meat was fine, but it could have had a bit more depth to the flavor. The bread is crusty, but as someone else mentioned, not crunchy to the point of being difficult to bit into. I’m a huge fan of the special mayo they use — so creamy, so good, but they either didn’t use it or skimped on it, because I don’t really recall much of it. I also think that it could be a bit more generous with their portions. Also, everyone who works there speaks Chinese. It is completely possible that they are vietnamese who are ethnically Chinese and hence speak the language but are familiar with Vietnamese food. it does though seem a bit«Americanized» so that’s probably a moot point.

I think it’s better than JOJU. Parking is a bit hard to find but its worth it! It’s like a hole in the wall place, very tiny but it’s really good! They don’t have banh mi fries but their sandwiches are still yummy.

The fact that it’s in Park Slope, they have the right to sell overpriced mediocre asian food. Da King was kind of meh, the sandwich was missing a lot of flavor and ingredients. I asked for a medium spice level but it wasn’t even spicy at all. I ended up drowning the sandwich in sriracha just so my tastebuds can finally feel something. The smoked duck breast roll was a complete rip off. $ 5.50 for two measly shreds of duck meat? You gotta be kidding me right? The summer roll was filled with mostly lettuce and vermicelli and again no cucumbers or chives inside. The peanut sauce was so and so, I wish they had chopped peanuts in it. Thai iced tea was another rip off, about half the cup was ice. I paid $ 4 for a cup of ice folks. All in all, I’m sticking to Saint Marks or Chinatown for banh mi. You could get so much more flavor and taste for a much lower price than what they charge at Banhmigos.

I don’t want to say Vietnamese sandwich shops are a dime a dozen these days, because that would imply I just don’t value them popping up everywhere. And I do value them. I love me a good banh mi and my accessibility to an assortment of them is both comforting and mouth-watering. But they all seem to follow a very similar formula and any variance from one place to the next may be slight(better meat, better bread, etc.), but also may make all the difference in finding your favorite. Banhmigos is certainly campaigning for Park Slopers to pick them as their go-to banh mi joint. They’ve got the friendly name(but Spanish?) and the friendly service, even if this place itself isn’t asking you to stay very long — it’s built more for delivery than dine-in, given there are all of four stools in the small space. For whatever reason, I always gravitate to the shredded chicken banh mi option when I’m at places like Banhmigos. I’m by no means anti-pork or pâté, but in a sandwich, maybe chicken just speaks to me more. At Banhmigos, they call this meat option a Da Foon. Its innards were fine, the usual suspects of cucumber, cilanto, pickled carrots, and daikon. There was a tinge of sweetness to the mix, probably something in the butter-mayo blend. But it’s the bread that threw me, frankly way crustier than I typically like. Most, if not all, quick service Vietnamese places offer some sort of summer/spring rolls, which are greens and vermicelli wrapped in rice paper, some with shrimp, some with just veggies, and served with a peanut hoisin sauce. Banhmigos offers the same, but adds Smoked Duck Breast Rolls to their roster, so I gave ‘em a try. I’d guess they’re no better or worse than the shrimp offerings I get elsewhere if we’re talkin’ taste test here, but the one slice of duck per roll does seem a bit skimpy. I’m thinking two slices might be ideal to really bring out the flavor. Still, it’s a nice addition and good to know they have ‘em here — anything duck-related is always noteworthy in my book. I feel like I housed this meal no problem, where other banh-mi-and-summer-roll-sit-downs have sank like a stone. In the fight against gluttony, I suppose this should be a plus. But in reality, should I really be walking away from a chicken sandwich and duck rolls even the slightest bit still hungry? I didn’t feel like an asshole afterwards, just hungry. Still can’t decide which is worse, but hey, that’s my own internal struggle. We can be banhmigos, Banhmigos, but not like tight banhmigos. Sorry to get all Mean Girls on you, but I’ve got other places better and closer to me that I’m going to call up first when I need my banh mi fix. Unless one day, you help me move, Banhmigos, because that’s just on a whole other level. And then we can totally be banhbros, bro.

It’s another cold day with a «wintry mix» outside. I’m working from home and I want a comforting and delicious banh mi. I know there are good ones in the East Village and some really good ones in Sunset Park, but I am definitely not going to either of those places right now. These pajamas are way too comfortable and I’ve got work to do. Hanco’s and Home have serviceable sandwiches, but I’m just not feeling either of those today. Isn’t there another spot in Park Slope that I haven’t tried yet??? YES! Banhmigos. I knew it. As I do with all my maiden voyages to Vietnamese destinations, I ordered their traditional sandwich(Da «B»). My feeling is, if they can’t get the standards right, the fringe items or more unusual ones might be risky. I also kinda like keeping things simple sometimes. If it ain’t broke, don’t break it, right? Anyway, the sandwich was delicious. The baguette was crispy and fresh, the meat was flavorful and well portioned, and the veggies were abundantly packed in to provide a nice textural crunch. I ordered it spicy and I did not detect much of a kick, however the flavors were so spot on and everything was so delicious that I won’t begrudge them the long walk to my refrigerator that I had to endure to get some Sriracha. I washed it all down with an original bubble tea and that also hit the spot. Banhmigos made my dreary and cold winter day a little warmer and brighter. Now that I’ve established a base line with them, I look forward to exploring the rest of their menu. As far as I can tell, this is about as good as it gets in the neighborhood.

Some points of order first: 1. Like most New Yorkers, I order a lot of takeout(please don’t kid yourself… you’re reading this review right now probably because you’re looking for good takeout) 2. If you ever vacation in Vietnam, I guarantee you it will be the only vacation you’ll ever have where you come back HEALTHIER than when you left. 3. Park Slope has no good Vietnamese food. What? Wrong! Enter Banhmigos! I had resigned myself to a lack of good vietnamese takeout in the Parkwanus(or Gowanus Slope, or whatever combo is in vogue these days) area. But then, thanks to my fellow Unilocalerz, I found this place. Oh glory day. Praise be to Buddha. The grilled chicken vermicelli was outrageously good… and the shredded chicken banh mi was decent. It’s no Ba Xuyen, it’s no Thanh Da, but they do deliver… and that counts for a lot. Finally, a good Vietnamese place to include into my takeout rotation. Whew!

Here’s three pieces of advice: 1. Get Da Jay. It’s the grilled pork banh mi, and it’s the best of the three different sandwiches that I’ve tried here. Although, I’ve never really been sad about any of them. 2. Don’t get delivery if you can help it. It’s quick and reliable, but the food definitely loses a little something on the way. All food really does. 3. Don’t go anywhere near this joint from 3 – 4 pm. In fact, stay away from the Slope altogether anytime school is letting out. Because strangling annoying middle schoolers is seriously frowned upon unless you’re also a middle schooler, and even then I’m pretty sure it’s not OK.

I stopped in here for a quick bite to eat and drink before I headed to a Unilocal event close by in the nabe. Parking is crazy to find so I parked illegally(shhh) and ran in and placed my order and ran back out and waited near my car. I waited about 10 minutes, there were a few people inside the tiny restaurant but they looked like they had a lot of take out orders. I ordered the roast pork(da jay) sandwich and it was delicious. All of the ingredients and flavors in the sandwich blended wonderful and it was very tasteful with a hint of spiciness since I ordered medium spicy. I didn’t like the crunchiness of the bread and should’ve told them not to toast the bread. The main thing that ticked me off about my(da jay) was how small it was in comparison to other Bahn mi’s I’ve had in the past. That sandwich was way too good to be that small. I was still hungry after I ate my lil Bahn mi. However, the taste was soo good I will definitely return to check out some other items on the menu. My lychee bubble tea was on point and hit the spot. This sandwich came very close to my favorite Vietnamese spot in Queens, «JoJu.»
