Even though it’s not a traditional idea, they run with the idea of Vietnamese sandwiches. To hem spicy does not equal overpowering the taste buds, you can still taste every succulent morsel of seafood and chicken(in my case). Also, don’t be foolish, try the cucumber juice.

One of my friends and I got into a debate about where to find the best banh mi sandwiches in Park Slope. or Brooklyn in general for that matter. He told me that I’d have to try this place before making a judgment that Hanco’s was the place to go. I ordered the extra spicy shredded chicken banh mi sandwich — I can’t say that I was disappointed. The sandwich was pretty good, the bread was not too hard and not too doughy, just the perfect consistency. I also have to give it to them that we(4 guys) walked in when they were 10 minutes from closing but they made our sandwiches and let us sit, eat, and chat for a good hour — all while smiling. Personally, Hanco’s is still my go-to place for vietnamese sandwiches, but this place is also a great alternative! I heard their bubble/boba tea is pretty good too — I’d def. try next time

Very good sandwiches, pretty good Phở(certainly for the ‘hood) and super-nice staff who have always been generous and sweet to my family. And my kids want me to mention the awesome bubble tea!

I do not pretend to be a bahn mi connoisseur, but I have had a few and this did not seem like an authentic in the classic sense. I mean, the people working here are asian, so I can’t talk too much smack. However, if you are looking for a sort of bahn mi that is yummy, then by all means, come on in and u wont be disappointed! I only tried the grilled pork and it was a party in my tummy. The medium was not spicy at all. I was afraid to go all out spicy, totally should have bc I was insulted by the lack of spiciness! The choices are mild, medium and spicy. Now the bubble tea actually tasted like TEA, nit that artificial tasting stuff those poser tea shops are pushing. I usually order taro. Mine was a little lacking in the flavor I am used to, but maybe that is bc they hit me up with that authentic tea ish! So if u like food and aren’t pretentious come on in. The food is good inside.

Cheap, fast, and pretty reliable. You can’t really ask for more for the local bahn-mi shop.

I don’t know why this is called Vietnamese sandwich. I’ve only ordered delivery and both options were not good. The bread is good though. If you want a better option, try Hanco or 5ive Spice.

Great phở soup. I ordered takeout and it came within 30 minutes. I ordered a veggie salad and it came with chicken… My boyfriend appreciated that more than I did. Overall pretty decent, I’d order again.

This is the second Banh Mi and Tea place I have tried in Park Slope and I am impressed. Lotus offers about the same drink selection, but has slightly larger sandwiches. I originally ordered an avocado smoothie, and I hardly tasted any avocado. I kindly asked the cashier if I picked the right flavour and she said«Yes.» After seeing that I did not continue to drink my smoothie she offered me a complimentary mango bubble tea free of charge. It was delicious! They have great service, free wifi, and enough seating to have a comfortable sit down meal. Would not recommend for groups larger than four.

This place is great for its fresh sandwiches and phở noodle soup. Ive ordered take out from here for over 2 years and the food had been CONSISTENTLYGREAT! They also deliver very quickly ++++ My favorites: Classic Vietnamese sandwich Grilled chicken Phở

Bought the classic and grilled chicken sandwiches through pick up. This place is good. The baguette is crisp and soft. The veggies were fresh and the ham and ground pork were super flavorful in the classic and tender in the grilled chicken. Oh yeah — and it’s cheap! 6.50 a sandwich! Nicely done. The restaurant itself is a hole in the wall that isn’t very appetizing for a sit down dinner… but take out is fine.

I love their sandwiches. I come here once a week for lunch and I can’t get enough. I always order the grilled chicken sandwich, with extra meat. I’m obsessed with it. If you like Hanco’s, this place does it better, cheaper, and bigger. Why go to Hanco’s when you get more at Lotus.

If you are looking for simple fast Vietnamese food, you will get it here. If you want good bubble tea, you will get it here. Prices are fare, cozy café — like atmosphere. I might recommend to eat the classic sandwich spicy and have a iced matcha with lychee jelly.

OK, so this place isn’t the most traditional vietnamese food. Sure, we’d all love to seek out those authentic little hidden coves, but they often aren’t easily accessible nor can we expect everything to be «authentic» all the time. With that said, I’m a fan of the banh mi sandwiches. The portions are really generous, service is quick, and the sandwiches are a great balance of sweet and spicy. The meat is a bit questionable(some pieces are very chewy and fatty), but given the price range, I’m not sure how much more we could expect. This isn’t a place where I’d want to sit down, but for a quick takeout dinner, it’s a great option.

I’ve only had the bubble tea in Lotus which is really good! It’s my first coming here today and I am definitely hooked. I also want to try the food because as soon as you come in you are greated by such a wonderful aroma. If I didn’t have to go to work right away, I would have stopped and ate something. Anyway, definitely coming back for more bubble tea! Also, friendly service. Just be warned you’re going to come out of this place smelling delicious!

The best Bahn mi Sandwiches in Park Slope. I have tried many other Bahn Mi sandwiches in the area and none are as good as Lotus. They offer many types of Bahn Mi sandwiches, phở’s and Bubble teas. I am particularly not a fan of their Phở’s or bubble teas simply because this is not what they do best in my opinion, but they do make killer Bahn Mi Sandwiches. Their prices are ver affordable, I almost always order a Classic Bahn Mi and shrimp summer roll, all for under $ 10. They offer dine and delivery options. Delivery is usually ver quick. Make sure to ask for a side of hoisin sauce to slather all over your Bahn mi Sandwich, like me, cause I’m such a fat bastard.

Ordered lunch from here at work. Half of us got phở and the other half sandwiches. It took them over an hour to deliver and when the food came it was kind of cold. The noodles in the phở were a congealed glob. We asked for extra sriracha but they didn’t even give us enough for each person to have one. The phở broth was a bit bland but better with the sriracha. Worst part was that it gave me a really bad stomach ache. The other person that got beef phở had the same problem. Not sure if it was the meat or what but I def was uncomfortable the rest of the day. Everyone that got sandwiches was happy. Maybe I’ll try them next time

Decent sandwiches, but does not measure up to the real thing. Good for a quick fix when I want vietnamese sandwiches, and just happen to be passing by.

There’s nothing ‘classic’ or authentic about the Banh Mi here. I should know having the real stuff in the meccas of Vietnamese shops of VA and Houston. As a sandwich that is close but no cigar sure. For the gentrified neighborhood Park Slope it is decent for folks who don’t know what Banh Mi should taste like. I actually prefer the sardine one as it is close to what we have for breakfast sometimes growing up in a Vietnamese household. As a lunch shop for a relatively decent sandwich with out going to Sunset park sure.
