my boyfriend and I walk pass this place a lot on walks in park slope, so we decided to give it a try to fight the cold weather. the service was okay, though very rushed. it wasn’t packed at all and the waitress seem to want us out immediately. We started with the Shrimp summer rolls — the sauce is straight-up Skippy smooth peanut butter. The phở was very good. I got phở fish balls. The noodles were legit and just what I was looking for. The décor and atmosphere was pretty nice as well. We didn’t get dessert, but lots of ice cream on their menu! and bubble tea. May consider coming back here for a good bowel of phở!

Looked really cute from the outside, came in here for lunch. It was really expensive in my opinion. I tried the phở with grilled chicken, it was really unimpressive and unauthentic. The soup tasted just a bit better than the stuff I get at Chinese take out. The décor is nice though…

So my wife works near this place and we went here for lunch: The décor is really cute — it has this very warm, cozy feel to it and low ceilings, small tables and wooden dividers. We ordered the shrimp summer rolls which came out in a jiffy as well as the curry phở(it sounded interesting). The summer rolls were the standard, the peanut sauce was a little watery but otherwise pretty good! The curry phở was pretty interesting; I wasn’t expecting literally a bowl of curry with phở noodles inside. There is no broth to this, it almost was like ordering a Red Panang Curry at a Thai Restaurant with a side order of noodles. It wasn’t bad but I don’t think I would personally order it again. Service was excellent. I would say the only reason why I can’t give 5 star is that the price when taking portion size into consideration is a little steep. I thought about ordering Banh Mi, but don’t fix what’s not broken and go to Hanco’s for Banh Mi!

So I’m at a bit of a loss on how to review Ha Noi because I honestly am not that familiar with Vietnamese food. I do know I like their banh mi sandwiches, not as much as Henry’s but definitely at least on par with Hanco. One of these days I need to do a three way, side-by-side comparison to settle the banh mi debate once and for all. But I digress. The shrimp rolls at Ha Noi were fine, a little bland but far better then Hanco & Henry’s but not even close to Bricolage’s, which rock. I’ve had the phở twice(the meat combo special) and I enjoyed it. Could have more star anise in the broth, and I like more basil, lime and jalapeños but they will bring extra upon request. So that is the end of my ability to try anything else and render any kind of useful opinion on the quality of the food. A vegetarian noodle dish tasted fine but I don’t know what it’s supposed to taste like. All that being said, Ha Noi ranks 4 stars because the place is lovely and I have never experienced anything other then very pleasant service. Prices are reasonable for portion size.

I’m sorry, I’m Vietnamese and I really really wanted to like this place. Our food was inedible. We had ordered the vermicelli dish. The vermicelli’s pork was tasteless and seemed precooked and the dipping sauce«nuoc cham» was downright just disgustingly sweet. It tasted like a thick sweet and sour sauce. The colour was in between orange and brown — I have no photo to post but you can imagine what that may look like. I had to ask the waitress to give me a ton of lime and straight up fish sauce so that I can fix the sauce. I almost walked out but my dear husband made me sit through the meal… If you’re calling yourself a Vietnamese restaurant, rule number one is know how to make«nuoc cham». Perhaps you need to have Vietnamese people work in the kitchen. No one we spoke to were Vietnamese or knew how the dipping sauce was supposed to taste like. Will definitely not be coming back.

Better phở and ambience than that other beloved vietnamese restaurant near by. I’ve only heard that the banh mi is very good but I will be going back soon to try. The veggie spring rolls were cooked well with a light flaky crust but lacked filling.

One of our favorite local places to go for Phở. Fav Phở dishes are the grilled chicken, white meat chicken, and the veggie phở. Summer rolls are always refreshing. Super nice staff, love the décor, and great service. Been happy for years :) Tried the sandwiches, but I prefer the phở over a sandwich any day.

I had my first phở experience here and don’t regret it! I really enjoyed the phở broth. The grilled pork chop was cooked well and provided additional flavor. The bowl was hearty and filling. Service was friendly and quick. Small outside seating area in the front of the restaurant.

Coming from a Vietnamese background, I knew that I would be a critic to all the Vietnamese places I visited. My family likes to stick with the authentic Vietnamese restaurants where the food is bona fide and hearty; I, on the other hand, loves to explore different places and experience what they have to offer. After long debate, I finally got my family around to coming here for dinner. The interior is very modern but small; tables are tightly spaced close together. I loved the atmosphere; very chill, but formal, co-coherently. The summer rolls($ 5) were tasty and refreshing to consume. The peanut butter sauce that came with the summer rolls were authentic and delightfully good. The curry phõ had too much msg in it; super salty; I’d avoid that. The house special beef phõ was mediocre with nothing special and Ha Noi was even missing some herbs that went along with the phõ. The broth was basic, nothing memorable. The seafood phõ was bland and tasteless in my opinion(broth wise) and the«seafood» tasted like they were imitated, aka fake, not real. The young coconut water that I ordered came in an actual coconut. The coconut water was cold and refreshing, but the coconut meat was difficult to carve out, mainly because I received an «old coconut», which is evident in the tough coconut meat… so that wasn’t fresh… I was pretty bummed out about that! It’s pretty sad to walk into an establishment that you think is authentically Vietnamese when none of the workers here even speak the language… we tried ordering in Vietnamese and the woman with a long ponytail stared at us blankly, looking confused…

Nice atmosphere. I had the shrimp summer rolls and pork bun, ended meal with hot taro bubble tea. Food was delicious and fresh. Reasonably priced, will go again.

I’m always happy to find phở outside of Chinatown! Though I think the prices are a little higher, it’s nice to get good Vietnamese food in Brooklyn. The décor is great too, and it’s very clean. I’ve had better phở broth, but the broth here definitely wasn’t bad or bland. The service was nice and very attentive too. I always take note of Asian restaurants that don’t completely abandon you after serving your entrees haha! This is one of those places. What could have made it five stars? Well, the broth could have been better really. There weren’t as many condiments on the tables as I’m used to either. But I’ll definitely be back anyway, they seem to have a nice variety on the menu that I need to try.

Tasty, authentic, healthy. Partial to the bun(Vietnamese noodle) bowls. Outdoor seating is a lovely option for these perfect fall days. Credit cards accepted over $ 10.

Alright, so I’m going to go with 3 stars for this one, and leaning towards 2. I’ll give the extra star for the friendly service. I said in a previous review that it compares with Hanco’s. I regret that after my Banh Mi($ 6) today I’d have to lean back towards Hanco’s. The bread for the Banh Mi at Ha Noi was chewy from reheating — not the crisp warm bread you get across the street. Not horrible, but I know I can do better elsewhere. The bag for the sandwich was labeled«tofu,» which was unappetizing for me. How long was it sitting in that bag? The ingredients were also sparse compared to Hanco’s. Across the street there’s more of a medley of shredded vegetables on the sandwich. Vegetable spring rolls($ 4) weren’t especially flavorful. Oh, well.

Great local Vietnamese food. Phở soup bowls are great and hearty. The beef cubes are tasty. The food hits the spot. The inside is beautiful. Sort of a mideval Asian look. They also have seating out side. 4⁄5 for sure!

I came here for lunch with my sis since we both are really big Viet fans. The décor inside gives a nice vibe and a perfect fit for PS. I ordered what I would typically eat(phở + spring rolls) and my sis got their signature bahn mi. The spring rolls were really tasty and very flavorful– they came with a great dipping sauce that was more on the vinegary side(my favorite!) The phở was less flavorful than I would have liked, and I think because they don’t use as much salt as most places, but was still tasty. I had a bite of my sister’s bahn mi and it was delicious! I think I would definitely go the sandwich route when I come here next time.

Banh mis here are a little too sweet and saucy. Tastes like leftovers covered in cinnamon gravy. Skip it and go across the street to Hanco’s.

I want to love this place, but growing up on the west coast with an abundance of Vietnamese options at my doorstep– I have to say the PHO broth falls short. It’s by comparison, flavorless :( But the service is always great, I’ll stick with the Bánh mì.

Being in many Vietnamese places, the phở soup didn’t smell or taste good. Had to pay and leave to find a better spot.

Vietnamese food at Park Slope prices, which is appropriate since that’s where this place is. I had the grilled pork vermicelli. It was pretty good. The meat’s marinade was very flavorful. My companion’s spicy phở was also legitimately spicy. Service was friendly. Overall a solid, respectable Vietnamese restaurant.
