Not the greatest bar, when one person complains about noise level from a birthday party on a Saturday night, and the bartender is taking the one customer’s side, it really deters new customers from wanting to come back. If there was an option to give it zero stars that’s what I would’ve done. The bar ambience was great at first as it allowed customers to borrow a number of board games like connect four, scategories, jenga, etc. However limiting the noise level of customers when we are having a fun time and talking over the loud music or playing board games as they are offered are uncalled for. People who like to have fun and talk or enjoy good drinks and beers shouldn’t come to this establishment. Highly unrecommended for people to go to this place when you have rude customers who can’t let others enjoy and have a good Saturday night. If this is the the type of bar it is going to be, the owner needs to have a sign that says«no fun allowed» and«please limit your noise level to squeaks».

Boo! I’ll keep this short and sweet since I know this place has a ton of fans. I went one night with some friends, we sat in a booth, it was just so generally unappealing that we left. Simply put, not a place for me!!!

Looking for a real English pub in New York, you’ve knock the right door. In a cosy and beautiful space you can enjoy a large choice of drinks and beers. And because a pub is nothing without their quiz night, you will have the chance to do one of the classic one here. I especially loved the mini burger to share. Amazing and very smart and tasty idea. On a Saturday in the late hours of 11pm this was our oasis in the late night desert. I loved the array of beers and the food selection was pretty tasty as well. This is an odd quirk of mine, but I love that their food menu is limited(at least it was at the moment). Sometimes it can become daunting if you’re skimming through pages and pages of menus. This place also boasts an electric fireplace in the back for a more intimate setting. Good service and good digs!

The bar is cute and reasonably priced, the drinks are good and the bartender is lovely. That said, it’s hard to get a drink because there’s only one bartender. She’s efficient and friendly, but with how packed the bar is on a Friday night, waiting for a drink can be a frustrating experience.

I liked this bar a lot. I still do. But on new years eve, 5 minutes past midnight, my friends got a lot of lip from the older bearded bartender when they pointed out that he poured drinks they didn’t order. Really killed the fun of new years eve for us. I get it man, it’s your 50th January 1st and you’re spending it slinging drinks to people half your age, but come on… is that the way you start out 2016?

This place is my favorite neighborhood spot. Nothing too fancy, and nothing too divey. It’s that sweet spot in the middle that makes you want to stay there forever. Excellent bartenders, great drinks and THOSEBOOTHS! Even the food is tasty! It’s a great spot for a date(dim lighting, excellent ambiance), for a small social gathering or a party. They seriously just nailed everything.

Tried the mini burgers and they were good. Comes with regular ruffles chips. The cheese plate was as expected. The cocktails however sucked. Other than that, its a cool little spot. Board games were available. Some beer and scrabble, and you’ll have a good time. Nothing super special or great about this place.

This place is a GO for me and perhaps I should have written a review sooner since I been here quite a few times. Lets get to business. Atmosphere/Ambiance/Décor: What I LOVE about this place is that it has a vibe that’s cozy, dimly lit, relaxing, low key, midscale. Some may consider it sort of divey but I wouldn’t call it divey at all. Its way too sanitary and too well kept to be a dive spot too me. Its not too dark that you can’t see anything but the lighting is such that it makes for a good hangout with friends and/or a good dating spot. There’s 4(maybe 5) booths that are great for a little privacy if you’re on a date, catching up/hanging out with friends. The booths are pretty spacious and can probably sit about 6 people. There’s the bar sitting area then there’s some more tables and seats in the back. Plenty of seating available. There’s also an impressive and very pretty back patio which I recommend to check out in nice weather. Bathrooms are clean, spacious and the doors actually lock. I’ve been here mostly on weekdays after 5pm and it has never been over crowded. However, Tuesday nights at 8pm Trivia nights, you can expect a good crowd but even then, its not terribly packed. The times I have come on weekend nights it was a good number of people but not balls to the walls(whatever the fuck that means) packed. Demographic/types of people who visit: The times I been here its been almost an all white crowd and mostly hipsters, transplants to Greenpoint/NYC, artist, «young professionals» or whatever you want to call them. I maybe seen a small percentage of non-White groups. Not that this is specifically a bad or good thing but that’s what I have seen. As a Latino, I never felt uncomfortable. But then again, when you have the machismo of Razor Ramon what the fuck can people really say to you? Anyway, the people were always chill, bartenders always cool, attentive, I never felt out of place. Music: Its usually some sort of indie rock music playing. Food: The food is good. Bar food but not bad but nothing crazy or outstanding. Drink prices: This place is a very affordable and has good quality beer. I believe they make mixed drinks as well. I usually stick with the Black Rabbit that’s 3 bucks. Sorry, I am not a drink or beer connoisseur so I can’t really go into detail with that other stuff but the drinks are definitely affordable and won’t rape your bank account or your pockets. What you should come here for: If you want to go to a bar and just mingle with people, come for a trivia night, have a beer and not have to scream over annoying, obnoxiously loud top 40 music, come here. You can come here to hang with friends, its a very nice date spot and a great place to meet cool people and have cool conversations, if you’re fine with the demographic. Why you shouldn’t come here: If you want to «TURNUP/SQUAD UP» to low grade, low vibration, shitty top 40 music, bump and grind, get obnoxiously drunk and be a bitch or a douche bag. So for me, this place is a certified GO! For you it maybe a GO!, NO! or a maybe. Aight, peace out.

Wouldn’t of given this place any stars but had to to share my experience. Went in with my cousin sat at the booth directly in front of the bar and they never even came and took any orders or asked if we wanted service(in a spans of 20 to 30 min). Walked over to the bar asked if we could order and had a complete blank stare from the person behind the counter. Nice looking place but horrible service will never come back. Thank god Pencil Factory is across the street this places rocks! Don’t waste your time here, so not worth it!

The pretentious euro pub booths don’t really work that well. The owner is neutral, bordering on unfriendly. The bartenders are mostly awful, especially Denis, who may be the worst bartender in NYC! ouch. He usually plays a Cream wanna be band, ?? The outdoor space is nice and mellow and there is occasionally a beer or two on tap that you actually want to drink. Not that expensive. Food … don’t bother. Great bar if you’re 24 and have been in NYC for a month. good luck.

The first time I went it was 1am Saturday, second time I went was during the day, a bit before 5pm. Stopped in to kill some time while waiting for Paulie Gees to open(awesome pizza just down the block). Outdoor picnic bench style seating in the back, good beer selection, board games, semi private booths that have a switch to call for service(not sure if it works) we flipped the switch a few times but no one came. It’s a pretty cool spot no matter what time of day… Played some Jenga out back and went 27 rounds before D toppled it so the table was pretty level in case you were wondering ;)

Came in for a quick drink in the area– I would like to go back when the patio is open. The benches were nice to hang out and have a drink. I got picklebacks, which were simple and good. Service was a bit meh, must have been understaffed.

Very unassuming bar/pub in the heart of the Greenpoint area. Inside is dark colored wood and booths with wild west saloon/swinging doors to make them a bit private since all of the patrons will walk right by you if you were sitting in one. Quiet pub to enjoy an after work drink, clean, comfortable, good cocktails! Pretty drab otherwise and characterless.

The atmosphere in this bar is everything it ought to be: low lighting, dark wood accented bars and booths, several warming fireplaces, a multitude of large game heads adorning the walls. …it feels as if you have stepped back in time and entered a bar somewhere in Europe with classic brats, pickled vegetables and a varied selection of lagers. The outdoor stone courtyard is incredible in warmer weather. The beer list is not extensive or anything special, but they’re all fairly cheap. House draft was $ 3. The food wasn’t especially tasty, but it was cheap, rib sticking bar food and honestly that suits this place. Excellent, romantic date spot or somewhere for a quiet conversation. They also offer a variety of interesting events such as Tuesday Trivia and speed dating to the smiths songs.

To me this place is my get away from away. Love the random crowd that comes here. The staff is great very pleasant. The service is fast and the drinks are not expensive at all. Great vibes, kinda dark inside so be advised. The amazing difference between Black Rabbit and the other bars is… The booths!!! It’s a nice bar and a most stop if in Greenpoint

Meh, I can’t get down with this place. I’ve been repeatedly and while I have fun, the place is frustrating because it’s always just a bit off. It’s REALLY dark in there(no I don’t wear glasses) but it is straight up hard to see in there. The booths seem like a cool idea but they feel sunken, and the doors make you feel trapped in there. Maybe awesome if you’re packed in like 6-deep. Also, yeah you get to push a light to get drink service but every time you have to wait forever to get basic things like menus or the check, nevermind drinks. If you’re gonna do this attend to it well or just have people go to the bar. This all makes me sound crotchety but drinking shouldn’t need a strain.
