I stumbled in this bar mostly because I needed a clean bathroom and some mozzarella sticks. I stayed for the bar tender. There is nothing I love more than I fiery person with an accent. Que the self proclaimed«50+ year old grandma in hooker shoes.» This women had comments on everything from strippers to the weather all in towering heels on a slender frame that never betrayed her age. The food is bar food, the taps are average, but the entertainment is divine.

I love this place. Very cozy and warm. The bartender is one cool chick who’s there like every night. The prices are very reasonable. Had a party here. The cook is very polite and the menu is pretty good. They have the games on and a pool table. On Saturday nights they have some real good live rock bands. Order a burger and say hi to Andy

A nice clean neighborhood sports bar, the food is good and environment depending if you don’t mind on begin around bikers during the summer months. During the fall and winter season its pretty much a relaxed and quite its like having the place all to yourself with the exception of the one table(which happens to be my favorite) that almost always seems to have a revered sign posted on it but the owner Gary will do you justice if you request to sit there. I feel really comfortable in this place and its off limits to wanna be neighborhood thugs who like to hustle or who are looking sell you a quick fix(powder ur nose). This is one neighborhood bar where u can use the bathroom without ever worrying that your hard earn dollar is going to do a whodini(dissapear) on you. I ‘ve been there over a dozen times and not one fight or bar brawl. There only one thing that may intimidate you about this bar and it’s its name Bratva(translated russian mob or gangster) but other than its wonderful.

Free snacks and nice bar folk raise this up by a star beyond a lot of other potentially sleazy, or fake divey spots. I came for some blues music, and found a legion of drunk young women having a ball on the dance floor, which I’d say spells for a pretty damn good ambiance. There’ll be a bonus, of course, for any customer who rolls up on a chopper, but this place isn’t so biker bar as it looks, as we felt plenty welcome.

I’m going up one from Althea and giving Bratva four stars for the same experience it just shows how subjective star ratings are. Four stars for being weird but new and still totally Coney. And for the cold and fresh $ 5 Blue Moon. The staff is supernice to customers, but I suspect that when the fat-fingered Russian guy tells noncustomers to get out of the bathroom line, they’d best be moving along.

How awesome is this! A Russian biker bar in Coney Island! So me and three friends stopped here on accident. We went to coney island this past sat to just check it out and hang out at the beach, since we all recently moved from california and two of us are Russian. We parked and walked toward the water but all had to use the bathroom, so we stopped here to use there bathroom. they forced us to either get something or leave, so we got a drink. that’s when it all started. We met three biker crews from the area — men and women — they were all just too nice to believe. we met the owners of the bar, these two russian men and got served drinks left and right. We were offered the chance to go to the roof to check out the parade and hung out even longer to eat. the wait for the food was crazy, but it was packed again bc of the parade, so can’t really fault them for that. got a burger and was so pleased to find russian saurkraut with the meal! it was the best thing ever! i loved it. I’ll be back here when my dad comes to visit me. Very cool place. i had no idea russian bikers even existed till now. felt nice to be around a familiar culture too, since all of the staff were russian.

Stopped in here for a beer after the Mermaid Parade and got some very reasonably priced Blue Moon($ 5, and it had fresh oranges on it too). It was too crowded for us to sit down for food, but some people were eating and it looked pretty tasty. The décor is like a modern take on a biker bar, and when we were in line for the bathroom, we saw that a whole bunch of fancy shiny bikes were parked out back, so I’m guessing this is the hangout of the local Russian bikers. The staff(both the bartender and the guy who was maintaining the bathroom line/guarding the motorcycles from drunks) were friendly and welcoming, especially considering the mob scene, so I’d stop back here when next in Coney Island…

Well I have mixed reviews because while the bartender was awesome as a solo act before the owners showed up. First off he contributed to this biker bar by having a awesome bike that drew me into the store, his choice of music on pandora was awesome too just what I needed after being at Coney Island all day long. The food is okay I had the babyback ribbs and they were not anything to say I love but hungry I eat them. The menu overall is fine for a step up from Coney Island typical dinning experience and the interior while dark in the middle of the day was comfortable but as it got dark they really should turn up the lighting. They have a full bar and good prices on drinks and food. What I didn’t like was how the owner stood guard to make sure no one just walked in to use the bathroom. Okay I get it, their bathrooms are nice & clean but it was the manner in which it was done. I would have preferred the owner offer them a refreshing drink with use of the bathroom, I know that suggestion isn’t legal but beats turning people away with such a great bar to sit at and relax. If they were smart they’d have a bathroom special. So in the end becuz of the only employee serving the patrons«the bartender» who did a great job, I give the place 3 stars but I probably won’t go back for any reason to Coney Island. they also had seating that accommodate large groups of people with comfortable sofas.

Bratva is new. It sits across the street from the world famous Freak Bar of Coney Island. I actually went down there planning on going to the Freak Bar. For whatever reason, that bar was closed at about 11pm on a Friday night. So, we headed across the street to Bratva. I’m glad I did. Bratva looks and feels like something you’d find somewhere in Manhattan or maybe Williamsburg. However, it’s a fantastic addition to the drinking options in Coney Island. It’s big space with a lot of leather couches. It wasn’t busy when I was there, but it certainly seems like it could be the kind of bar that brings a lot of different people to the Coney Island area.
