Brooklyn Connect

I was referred to Joey at Brooklyn Connect by a friend who’d used him to find an apartment and had a great experience. And I had a great experience as well.
Joey took the time to listen to what I wanted in an apartment and gave me a realistic appraisal of what we’d be looking at. He then took me out to see a few places, and when I found one I wanted he went out of his way to make it happen. From that point on, it remained smooth sailing. Joey made sure I got all my documents in and that the lease signing went smoothly.
Finding an apartment is incredibly stressful, especially in NYC, and I haven’t had a ton of great experiences. This was the fourth apartment I’ve rented here, and it was by far the smoothest, easiest experience of the bunch.
I’d definitely recommend Brooklyn Connect.

Our experience with Brooklyn Connect started out very positively. Our broker negotiated the rent down on a really wonderful space, and we were able to sign a lease within a few days of submitting our application.
However, it quickly turned sour. After things were signed and certified checks were exchanged, it became evident that no one was interested in facilitating a smooth transition. We were told that we could access the space on a certain day and subsequently arranged movers for that day, but we found out less than 48 hours before our scheduled move that the apartment was still being renovated and we couldn’t get in. We had to pay exorbitant fees to reschedule our move. Our concerns were summarily dismissed by the broker, who didn’t seem to get that we had scheduled our move around him telling us when we could access the space. We managed to get a key for our apartment the next day, but not a key for the apartment building. After contacting our management company, they were very apologetic and got us the front door key. They told us the brokerage never contacted them about anything, really. So, yeah. Not great.
So, at the end of the day, we now have a great apartment. Very grateful for their help on the rent reduction, but I feel like a lot of the shitty stuff we had to go through could have been mitigated if they communicated or did any sort of follow-​up after cashing our checks.

Stay away.
Have never experienced a more shady run around in my life. While «no fee,» their plan is just to grab as many application fees as they can. They were ready to accept a deposit on a place that had been filled but 1 hour before, despite an arrangement with one of their brokers since the day before.
