I ordered a strawberry parfait that usually takes 10 minutes to make but it ended up taking 20 mins. Anyways they have free wifi and the place is nice and quiet. The workers are nice as well.

Not worth it. The quality is cheap and you don’t get what you pay for. We ordered mini macaroons, gelato, and a medium shake. Everything here is 100 percent artificial and expensive. We came for dessert and saw a small waffle which is the size of my palm with some whip cream is almost 10 dollars. I can get a large waffle with Nutella and fresh fruits for less than half that price from doo wop griddle a block away. So yeah I’m good on that. I wanted a latte but had their coffee before and was not impressed so we went for a cold refreshment instead. The medium smoothie, which is maybe alittle more than 12 oz is 6 dollars and made from fruit juice and ice. For six dollars it should be fresh fruit! It tasted like pure sugar with ice. I can get the same from Burger King for 3 dollars or get a better shake from McDonald’s for less. That’s how bad the quality is compared to the price. The mini macaroons were very chewy, gelato was whatever and the shake was very sweet. Over all this place is overrated and way too pricey. I can get a better shake in the city for less than 6 bucks. Seriously they need to step up the quality and make prices that match what they are offering. The people who work there are friendly so that’s why it got 2 stars instead of 1.

I am giving two stars because the staff was courteous and my caffe latte was fine. However, I ordered a slice of red velvet cake and it was hard and dry. Returned it immediately after one bite and cutting into another part to see if hard all over. Clearly, it had been sitting out for some time. No big deal– things happen and once in a while a slice may get forgotten. The staff quickly changed it out for a slice of raspberry cheese cake. I can only describe it as having the texture of play dough. So avoid the food on display. Didn’t bother bringing it back up– left the cake beside the garbage, took my coffee and left.

Busy and small seating, this caffe bene was strategically placed here for coffee addicted Brooklyn college students. It’s Starbucks new competitor which is right around the corner. Beautiful interior, the place is a good spot to study on the weekends or weekdays(avoiding common hours for BC students). It’s pricer than Starbucks. Honestly, I don’t see what’s the big deal since I’ve had their drinks, sandwiches, and gelato out of curiosity. Perhaps simply pricey for the brand image? The Portobello sandwich(the cheapest) indeed is delicious but for over $ 7, you gotta be really lazy or hungry(in this case, I was way hungry) to buy the portobello because it’s so easy to make at home. Nothing fancy about it. 10 minute wait on a Sunday made me question how long I would’ve waited during a weekday for a sandwich. Overall, don’t get«hyped» about this new location.

Very overpriced. Not worth the quality of food you get. I think they need to remember that most of their customers are college students! I paid $ 6 for a small cup of bubble tea and it was super sweet. $ 6?! They’re out of their mind! Skip it!

Ordered: Liege waffle with whipped cream and strawberries Pros: The place is massive, which lends to plenty of seating. The waffle was pleasantly sweet(similar to sweet rolls with powdered sugar from bakeries) and had a great doughy flavor. Cons: The pricing was a bit much($ 7) for the size of the waffle and its toppings.

I pass this shop on my way to class but never thought to go in.(I am not much of a coffee shop person for some reason) Today I rushed in for tea and ordered a small ice tea lemonade for a bit over $ 2.50 and it was so good. The cashier and server was also extremely nice. It looked super roomy as well and very pretty. I’ll be back.

Waffles are good. Honey bread is good. Hot chocolate is good. Lemon tea thing is good too.(Basically everything I had was awesome) Oh and chocolate cheesecake is super good The staff is super nice and friendly.(Especially Jasmine) They are currently having a grand opening promotion and everything is 20% off until December 16. Ps the books in the bookshelf aren’t fake.

It’s a cold rainy morning and I needed my caffeine before classes start. The vanilla latte was my go to choice as I always ordered it in another café bene location. The moment I got a hold of the cup I knew it would be a disappointment. It wasn’t hot. But I thought maybe my hand is just numb from the cold. I walk out and decide to take my first sip. It was lukewarm. Not even the slightest bit hot. Maybe next time I should ask for it to be boiling hot.

Nice and roomy coffee shop. There is a Starbucks right next door and yet this place is packed with college students during the week. It’s a little slower on the weekends when I usually go and have a sandwich, which is nice so I can get a table and sit. Best part is that they have soy milk incase you can’t have regular milk like me. I had their dark roast which can be equated to Starbuck’s medium roast. I haven’t tried their other selections yet. I have had two of their sandwiches so far which are so delicious(spicy chicken and ham/egg). They have a good selection of waffles and other coffee food(cookies, breads, etc.). They also have some gelato selections. When you order your food they give you a timer chip so you can sit and be alerted when your food is ready. You can also get your food on a plate if you want to eat in. I love that this place has a big section of seating. It is always clean and the staff are courteous.

The food isn’t all that, but the drinks are yummy. The honey bread is a little too sweet for me. I think they put a little too much honey. I recommend the green tea latte, white mocha & caramel macchiato are the best drinks. I like the macaroons! Oreo, coffee and matcha are my favorite :)

Work in progress. Definitely attracting a lot of young costumers during rush hour. Still haven’t tried many items on their menu, due to the item being unavailable.

Okay, let me preface this by saying that I did not intend to get the most abominable thing on the menu, but as it turned out, I totally did. I’d gotten off work at about 7:00 and was rushing to an event, so I decided to try this place out. My friend and I both wanted something substantial to eat, but because it was so late, they’d stopped serving sandwiches. I should’ve sucked it up and bought a dessert. Nope. Here’s what I got, and I dare you to tell me it sounds like anything other than a hunk of heart attack and death. I ignored all the warning signs and said«well, maybe I’ll like it. It’s savory.» Cheese and garlic honey bread. A thick slab of cakelike bread covered in garlicky cheese and then honeycombed over with a bottle of the kind of orange fake cheese that looks like it came out of a laboratory. The worst part is I liked it. Even as my palette battled itself in confusion, I found myself kind of addicted. My friend felt the same way. It was only after we stopped eating that we descended into the remorse of someone who has committed a mortal sin against their gastrointestinal tract. When I go back here, I will get a dessert or a drink, and I will resist the temptation to buy the hunk of death again. Wish me luck.

Wow, never would I have thought that a Caffe Bene establishment would start a business right across the street from Brooklyn College! My friend and I intended to purchase a bingsu dessert and share(shaved ice with ice-cream, fruits and condensed milk). We repeated ourselves several times and even pointed to the fake model display on the counter but the cashier was confused… finally she said that they only offer that dessert during the summer. Why would you have the fake model display out if it’s not available? And it’s weird how they don’t sell it just because it’s winter… it’s kinda like not selling ice-cream/gelato because it’s winter… weird, huh? Anyway, my friend ordered strawberry and green tea gelato and I ordered a fruit tart crème brûlée. My favorite dessert was the green tea gelato; the creamy consistency was like having happiness on my tongue! The fruit on my crème brûlée was definitely tart(I wasn’t a fan of this), however, I DID enjoy the crème brûlée, itself. The almost custardy consistency was light and airy, making the dessert eating process effortless. I was able to keep the glass that the crème brûlée was situated in and the«to go» packaging here was quick and cute. The interior of the store was modern and very«Korean»(like those K-drama cafes). There are an abundance of chairs and tables made out of modern wood, a bookcase full of fake books that the store probably just purchased to make it look noble, plants, and a surprisingly decent bathroom. There are two entrances/exits here. Their food items and drinks come with a hefty price tag so I love how they have a sign out front that says, «Soft Opening 8AM –8PM», yet their prices don’t change(there are no discounts!). So, let me ask you, what is the purpose of this soft opening?

Great seating area… as long as they keep the high school crowd to a minimum. Love the café saigon drink, waffles and food both good but the wait times are horrendous even when there’s no one in line or waiting. Terribly slow staff with no customer service skills… train your staff! A smile goes a long way.

«Soft opening» sign has been there for weeks now. The coffee is meh but drinkable. They still don’t have a lot of the things on the menu. The waffles look good but not worth waiting on line with a bunch of loud high schoolers. On the bright side the wifi is better and it is relatively cleaner than other coffee places around the area.
