The milk chocolate hot cocoa with half and half milk was a fan favorite at my table, where on the other hand the vanilla French press was sub par. The place had a very nice vibe though!

I went into this coffee shop in which I have been going for years now. I was told that Caffe Café had recently opened new so I thought I would try it out. A friend and I had simply ordered coffee which did not even taste good. The waitress had promised us to have a seat and she would bring the coffee over. All went well until my friend paid for the bill. We didn’t sit for long and simply had ordered coffee so we had paid for the coffee. As we were thanking the waitress and the owner, we were immediately followed outside by the owner. He began to demand why we didn’t leave any tip for just two cups of coffee. We did not order anything else besides coffee and stayed for maybe fifteen minutes. I was so disgusting by the manner that this owner had treated us customers. Leaving a tip is not up to the owner or waitress, it is up to the customer. I didn’t know simply putting two cups of coffee calls for a big tip. He claimed his employees work hard, okay maybe he should be paying them more instead of chasing loyal customers outside the door causing a scene. He then demanded that he would now limit us to «takeout». He will never see a penny from me again even if this was the last coffee shop in earth. Do not come here! They will chase you demanding for a tip. Horrible customer service from the owners and extremely greedy! This is not how you treat customers.

Wish I hadn’t tipped so much. A check was dropped on my table without asking. I knew that meant leave so I decided to tip 35% to stay. 20 min later and about to leave the owner rudely came up and said, «I’m going to have to bump you. Can you leave soon?» I left immediately. If you’re going to own a coffee shop, people are going to sit there. If you’re looking to get some serious work done DONOTCOMEHERE. Otherwise their coffee is good. I’d like my tip back.

This coffee shop is very spacious and has a nice ambiance. They have cute teacups all over their shelves. There are also many tables, so it should be easy to find a place to sit. It is also much quieter here than it is at a Starbucks or other common coffee shop that gets more visitors. They also have a lot of speciality coffee drinks that can be served hot or iced. The drink that I got here, an iced caramel latte, was very good. However, I have two complaints about this coffee shop: 1. They have a huge menu, with about 7 pages worth of different drinks. However, when my friend and I went there, the baristas lacked the ingredients to make the majority of the drinks that were listed on the menu. My friend and I had to go through at least 10 things on the menu before we were able to order something without being told«We are currently out of this kind of tea,» or «We don’t have this type of coffee», or «We don’t have this dessert right now». 2. When we came asked, we were asked if we want to sit down. We said yes, and then no one came up to us with a menu for about 10 – 20 minutes. There weren’t many customers when this occurred. It would also be helpful if they have menus laying out on the counter. There was absolutely no pricing anywhere, so if you are standing in line to order a drink to go, you can’t determine what you want to get until it is your turn to order.

Came in here for a quick cup of coffee. It seems like a nice place to meet a friend and sit and catch up. They sell a large variety of beans and loose teas. The coffee was average– no scaldingly hot or burnt like some other places in the area. It’s also affordable, and they offer the usual dairy and non-dairy milks.

I love their coffee and chocolate chips muffins. This is the first coffee shop that I fell in love with since I came to New York and moved to Bay Ridge.

Love love this café, I go whenever I’m in Bay Ridge. I’ve bought really great tea sets as gifts. The tea selection is great, from standard stuff like breakfast tea to flower teas. The coffee is great. You feel the difference between the franchise coffee experience and this place as soon as you walk in, the smell of actual ground coffee.

I love their drinks, especially their ice tea! But their bakeries aren’t that good. It is a great place to study until midnight, since there are not many study cafes around this area

Best coffee shop ever. There is no place in the world like this place. It’s like a I hang out place for people that love to drink coffee. I even seen somebody in there playing on the computer while drinking coffee and eating a piece a cake while playing a game of card with his friends.

Got a levelup city pass here months ago, but never made it in to redeem it, but dropped by anyway. Staffer completely ignored me as he took his sweet time to prepare a coffee for the person in front of me. They post no prices for their shrinkwrapped cookies.

I went here years ago, I believe there was a different owner because the whole feel has changed. I went in for a coffee the other day and saw it went from a cozy little coffee shop to a place where the hoodlums of the neighborhood go. It is a hang out now. It Def lost its class. The service is fast but has no personality and my coffee was hot which was good but tasted old and burnt. One thing I hate is gross coffee. The food is all pre made and the setting is just miserable. Never again. Sorry but no thank you café café.

They had coffee, didn’t spend much time here but was passing through the neighborhood and this seemed to be the only coffee place right nearby. Service was good, quiet for 11:00 am on Saturday morning. A couple of dudes hanging out looking at their laptops. Latte was decent, pastry selection was not impressive but got me through.

I have experienced something awkward in this café last Sunday. My husband, my son, and myself walked in. I ordered a latte first and got back to my son and his troller. While folding the stroller, the young woman behind the counter asked me what size I want and how I like my coffee to be made. After that, my husband continued to place his order for coffee and a cookie for my son. He later told me that the man working with the young woman at the time asked him if he would pay for my coffee. I find this quite awkward, for it seems to be obvious that we are a family. I like the atmosphere of the café, yet I think there is room for improvement, especially for customer service.

$ 30 for garbage kona beans. I excitedly brought the«freshly roasted» beans back from the store after the person on staff assured me they were kona and fresh. I made a batch of Chemex with them and the beans didn’t bloom. So much for freshly roasted.

Cozy looking place, looks especially sweet at night. Their teas are absolutely wonderful but I also kind of wish they had a mini explanation of what each drink is on the chalk board above the register.

There’s plenty of comfy seating here, a homey and eclectic décor, decent drinks and friendly staff. They have table service and even if you order at the counter, they don’t make you pay until you’re ready to leave. Message: They’re not Starbucks. I checked in on Unilocal and received 10% off my latte. They take cash and credit. When I first came in and asked whether they have outlets, the cashier asked whether I was staying. Hmm, odd question. I responded that I am buying something, even though her question didn’t address that I knew what she meant. I then asked her whether she has people come in and just use their Wi-Fi and not buy anything. She said only once. Not sure why she felt I might not buy anything, but my buying something was dependent on whether I could find an outlet. And I wish they had a bigger selection of treats and sandwiches. Also, at least two of the employees were eating Carvel behind the counter while working. Overall, it’s a decent spot and they won’t harass you after you’ve made your purchase. And they’re open until midnight!

A pleasant surprise in the Ridge. Their coffee is pretty good(tasteless? really?) and their Italian sodas are delicious, but I agree that their service is atrocious — seriously, it’s hilariously bad. Unprofessional to the extreme, and very misguided priorities. They fit well with the clientele though, a curious bunch, a mixed crowd of under-21 Ridgites, locals, and regulars representing the changing nature of the neighborhood, along with the occasional hipster. I usually order an Americano during a late-night session, but I abstained this time, as I couldn’t bring myself to trust the staff on hand to not blow the place up. Still, the staff really endeared themselves to me — they’re funny and personable, and make the experience memorable. So remember, this ain’t Starbucks, and we’re in Bay Ridge, not the City. Fortify your ego accordingly. I think what would piss off a lot of people is just how much this place doesn’t care — it’s an institution, and no one working here or patronizing the place takes it seriously — except the owner, presumably, looking at how often he responds to Unilocal!reviews. That said, Bay Ridge has precious few cafes, especially those open late, so I’ll gladly put up with a few flaws.

Well I was looking for a another place when I stumbled in here. Service was fast and friendly. Plus the iced coffee I ordered was on time. I had the Iced Latte… they frothed the milk and it tasted delicious. I really don’t mind if the barristas don’t froth the milk. Come on its iced coffee! Plus I walked over to Jean Danet and had some frigging awesome cream puffs to go with this coffee. Coffee was flavorful and good, definitely would return when I am in the neighborhood.

Meh. The girl behind the counter must have been a zombie because we stood in front of her for about 15 minutes while she was doing mundane tasks that could have waited. I had 2 sips of my iced coffee and threw it out, so not impressed, no flavor. For a small place with seemingly so many options, it was an overall lackluster experience.
