SERGIO is the man! This was an amazing experience. The tartar was killer as was the soup(broccoli) and salmon. The service was on point, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend you come to cats on the bay and say hi to Sergio, the man!

Really great restaurant at an awesome location, on the bay. It’s almost a modern fusion of American and French food, which I’m not complaining about. Very low key until around 10 when the DJ or live entertainment starts. The décor is very eclectic. After dinner a simple stroll in the bay if a perfect end to the evening.

Came here with a friend to dance and grab a bite to eat. There was a small dance floor, but it was okay. The music wasn’t bad either. The waitstaff was really friendly and attentive. We ordered four dishes to share — most were over-salted, and the dishes with cheese were smothered with a bit too much of it, overpowering the dishes(this is coming from an avid, lifelong cheese lover — it’s one of my favorite foods, but there is a such thing as too much); even still, the food wasn’t terrible. I liked the Oyster Rockefeller, and although the sauce it came with was really watery, it still tasted good. I will give it another shot and hope they were just having an off night.

Absolutely DELICIOUS food! Got the BBQ Chipotle Steak and a Caesar Salad with chicken, and it was beyond anything I’ve ever tasted before. My boyfriend and I also ordered mixed drinks which were $ 14 each but had a pretty decent amount of alcohol in them. This place is definitely great for date nights or group dinners as it has a nice ambiance, however it is a bit in the pricier side. There is also a dance/music room downstairs if you feel like dancing.

Food is ok, but the place is strange: it has basement-dance floor+ restaurant, restrooms, bar and 1st floor-really small, 4,5 tables there. On a winter time its very cold on the 1st floor, heating conditioner doesn’t help.+ you will be isolated from the party at the basement. Music is just basic Russian pop. Overall=place is so-so

Cats on a Bay is one of my Favorite places to go in Brooklyn — I have been a regular since trying it for the first time last summer. Cozy place, Really tasty food and amazing presentation! Avocado Salad and Borsch(beet soup) is on my top list, and I never get tired of the main entrée’s as well. dry ice drinks are must try and I rotate them every week cause they are fuzzy and fun. Last but not least I love the service and how friendly staff are– they always make me feel welcome and special! definitely recommend it to everyone who has not been here before– you are missing out! Food is average. Music is good. At times need to have a long wait for food. Waiters pleasant. Bad part that they let in a lot of people who stand at the bar just for a drink and some of them get too drunk and behave crazy.

Came here on a whim. I have been here before for a birthday party. The place is very nice great ambiance. The service is great as well. The food was nothing special at all considering the price. Would not recommend.

I had dinner here a few weeks ago. When we arrived it was a private party taking place, no big deal. But the problem was it was not crowded at all, so I couldn’t understand why it took almost twenty minutes for us to be greeted. I ordered the Salmon with Lentil Sauce and was very tasty, I also enjoyed the Mango Margarita’s. I’ll definitely come back, I just hope I get better service next visit.

Ordered take out from here at midnight. Midnight beef stroganoff and caramel donuts. Both were very good. Our delivery guy was dressed in a suit and right on time. I like how their phone number is 929.777.cats

I missed this place, it took a while for them to get up and running as Sandy hit them very hard. The Food was as good or better than I remembered it. They shrunk the menu a bit but our favorites are still there like the the skirt steak and the boulabase seafood soup. They have a full bar and wine list, mixed drinks aren’t always perfect but they are quick to exchange if you don’t like. Probably my favorite resteraunt in SHB.

Don’t don your Chanel or Herve Leger to Cats On The Bay on Emmons… There’s straight trash that collects at the bar and throws up on you! Management unapologetic. You’re either a dive bar where ppl are allowed to wear sneakers or an upscale restaurant/lounge where there is a dress code and alcohol limit. Will never be back. Gross! Husband and I were thrown up on by an ass who couldn’t hold his liquor… Or thought he could, in his fist! 0 stars for the place 5 stars for entertainment… Still averages to 2 for me!!!

Pushy waiter. First, we were totally ignored, then the guy hovered over our table, not letting us enjoy ourselves. They couldn’t find our reservation, although we made it on Open Table and were reminded, like, million times. But they«did us a favor» by sitting us. Other people who came after us were not as lucky. Although the place was completely empty throughout the evening. They just turned people away, saying that the rest of tables are reserved. None of those showed up, although we left at 7:50. The Asian Seafood Salad was great. Escargot was baked with tons of cheap cheese for some reason. Filet Mignon Foie/Gras Combo was cooked to death. Although I did say«medium». If it wasn’t for incredible concert afterwards, visiting this place and paying for the food would be too painful. But, hey, South Brooklyn always sucked in a culinary way. Nothing changed.

I’ve been here a few times. So, I can say: «I love this place». Nice luxury interior, cozy atmosphere. Price is little bit hight for Brooklyn but every details and dishes worth it. Also I can give a compliment for singer, she has a wonderful voice and very attractive.

I absolutely adored this place! We were seated quickly, our coats were checked at the door and the food was amazing! I had the seafood linguini and everything tasted well seasoned and cooked well. Let’s not forget my Nitro Caribbean(passion?) drink that was bubbling when I received it! The live music was a nice touch as well. My only complaint is that the food took a little long to come but besides that alls well. I’d definitely come again.

Recently reopened after Hurricane Sandy. The food and service are great. I wasn’t expecting a great meal so I was pleasantly surprised. They also have sushi! Dance floor is small and in my opinion the music could’ve been a little more diverse but overall, good time.
