Chase Bank

Replacing tellers with machines has to be the dumbest move on the bank’s part. The line for the 1 teller present was too long and no one could use the machines, because they couldn’t complete the transactions the teller could. Please stop trying tire place people with machines, you may think it saves money but it will cost you customers. I’m not sure if all branches are now implementing this, but if they are I am no longer dealing with chase.

I have been a customer here for seven years. In theory, I have never particularly liked banking with a too-​big-​to-​fail company but here is why I have stayed and even added two accounts over the years, and with something close to pleasure: it’s the customer service at this branch.
The manager, Vernie is incredible: diligent, intelligent, informed, compassionate, and good-​humored. She runs a tight ship: she hires smart, kind, organized people and obviously trains them well. The former manager, Timothy, was one hard act to follow but Vernie matches his performance completely. In this huge city, this branch manages to evince a small town vibe because of this humane customer care, you’re treated like a human being and not a number sign, and you feel you are in the most capable hands when things go awry (which they did for me when my hard drive was corrupted and all of my accounting files for years lost and suddenly needed for an unfortunate reason). There are lots of choices on this strip of 5^th Ave and I’ve banked with a number of them (I’ve had accounts with BofA, Capital One, and Astoria) and hands down, this is the best bank in terms of customer care.

Do these people even have a pulse? It’s like pulling teeth to get some help in this location. The branch at Carroll Street and 7^th Ave is much better.

This branch has some helpful folks. I mean it is a big bank which is pretty generic. Sometimes the lines can be long to get a person to talk too.

The employees here are great and always super friendly. I recently opened an account here and am very pleased! Opening an account was very easy and quick. The man who opened my account for me, Carlos, even had me download the Chase app while I was at the bank so he could show me how to use all of its features. Great branch!

Nice, clean branch of Chase. Service has always been polite, the ATMs reliable and I’ve never had to wait very long to finish conducting my business. No complaints here!

I don’t think there is much to say about big bank branches. They are usually pretty generic.
When we went in, the banker was pretty helpfulthey make the workers buy chase ties
banker was really friendly and helpful with our credit card account.
He was wearing a Chase tie — we asked him about it and he said that he had to buy it… they make their employees buy Chase ties… uh…

This chase branch is often ripe with drunken fools on the morning after their big night out. Still its a convenient place to drop off deposits (if you don’t do it over the phone now) and get cash and located just one long avenue block from the 4^th-​9^th subway stop.
I haven’t had to go interact with a teller. I don’t think its necessary for most things you do at Chase bank.
