First time trying polish food and this place did not disappoint. My taste buds were happy. This place needs more business, it was super empty when I got there, only one other table occupied. My friend decided to take me here because that other place Karczma was super pack and wait time was long. Christina’s was a great option. I ordered the Hungarian potato pancake, recommended by my friend, I’m craving some right now. Try some polish beer too, it’s good!

I really loved this restaurant. My mother was visiting from out of town, and we originally had planned to go to Karczma. However, we were not received very politely upon our attempt to enter the restaurant and place ourselves on the waiting list for a table. Because this was the second time I’d had a rude welcoming at Karczma, I decided it was in our best interests to support a business that actually wanted to take our money. The interior of this restaurant is cozy and dim-lit. I have an anxiety about being seated at a table in the middle of just about any restaurant, which happened here, but it was spacious enough not to feel as if we were on top of the table next to us. The atmosphere is casual and the noise level is comfortable. I had an order of potato and cheese pierogies, which I would rank on the favorable end of the pierogies I’ve had from various Polish restaurants. The same goes for their kielbasa and mashed potatoes. Oh, and their prices are very reasonable. Their wine, although limited in selection, is tasteful. Unless you’re extremely picky about your whites, you probably won’t have any complaints about what they have to offer. The only reason I took a star away is because the service was extremely, extremely slow. For some reason, it’s something I’ve come to expect as typical of a Polish restaurant, but I did become a little impatient here. However, they were busy, and I got over it, and the waitress was also very nice to us, so it’s not a dealbreaker. I would come here again!

The food is so delicious and they have good prices too. This is the best place for lunch yum. The best is the pierogi and soups. Want a good taste of polish food this place is highly recommended.

Got Caesars salad with Grilled Chicken to go, first and last time. First of all it was $ 13! Second it was about 30 cents worth of salad, dressing from a supermarket, fake parm cheese the one you get in containers, and half of a grilled chicken breast! I will not even mention croutons made from dried polish bread and not even seasoned at all and done properly. So figure $ 3 worth of food for $ 13 !!! I am polish and I will never eat there again in my life, this place is a complete rip off !!! you want good polish food go to Karczma on GP ave.

Loved this place! It was pretty warm when we walked in and the waitress was nice enough to turn on the AC for us… Major points for that! Three of the four of us ordered off menu and they accommodated with no problem. Everyone’s food was delicious, large portions. I had the Christina’s pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries and a generous portion of home fries(like a whole potato! Enough to share) YUM!!!

Had the pierogis and kielbasa! It was the best and tasted just like my Ukrainian grandmothers cooking. This place is a must try.

I tried this restaurant several times within last couple years or so and always had very mediocre experience. The place seems little pretentious for what it is and definitely not very friendly. The food is just not very good at all, and I noticed it always gives me really bad indigestion afterwards. I also noticed that my face is breaking out every time I eat there!!! My friends who recently went there with me had also very similar experience. That must be caused by an old, low quality grease they’re reusing over and over to fry their food… I’ve always liked Polish food very much and I had really good experience in other Polish restaurants in Greenpoint but this one doesn’t seem very authentic(Polish menu is very limited) and what’s even worse, the food, Polish or not just doesn’t taste good at all and their servings are little stingy. That is definitely not something you would expect from a real, good Polish restaurant. During my last visit there I had a pork cutlet that was quite greasy yet dry, heavily breaded and had almost no flavor and potatoes that smelled like old moldy basement, The soup was very thin with almost nothing in it and side vegetables were very bland and probably came straight from a can. I noticed their prices have been going up significantly within last few years, too bad the quality of their food hasn’t! I also noticed the waitresses don’t stay there very long. Pretty much every time I go there I find out that at least one of them had quit. And it seems like they’re always looking for help… I don’t think I’ll be going back there anymore. There are much better, tastier and happier Polish restaurants nearby! One of my favorites, «Karczma» is just around the corner on Greenpoint Ave. and it’s so much better!!! There is also«Krolewskie Jadlo» and«Lomzynianka», all MUCHBETTER then Christina’s!!!

First time with some more authentic Polish food and I have to say, this was a great experience. Friendly attentive wait staff, good food, great portions, prompt and reasonably priced. If I ever end up in Green point again I’ll be checking out this place again. Thank you for the good food!

My first time eating Polish food so I don’t have any experience on how to gauge this… Other than I know what good food taste like. I I like the food here. Good service good people working here. The comfort level is so homey!!! I love the soups so comforting. I will definitely hit it up again and some other places in this awesome Polish neighborhood will come back. Thanks Lauren from Brooklyn who I met on the plane ride here great suggestion and beautiful neighborhood.

The food was excellent. The salmon was cooked just right loved it, it was served with vegetables and mushrooms. The Tiramisu was very well done too. Very cozy and beautiful restaurant to eat with the family or friends. Customer service was excellent. I didn’t have a waiter on top of my table handing me the bill as in other places that have a rush to serve and hand the bill. I had enough time to eat and relax while chatting with my family. Very laid back, relax atmosphere. The beets were really good also. The Salmon sandwich was very tasty as well.

Great traditional Polish dishes served in a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend the first Polish platter with either a side of beets or a cucumber salad. The portions are big so come hungry!

Took some of my coworkers for lunch here, I’m just gonna say this — it used to be a nice polish restaurant with savory food now it’s an embarrassment.

This was my second time eating at Christina’s and I don’t think I will be back. Food is average, I had grilled chicken French fries, and red cabbage. The chicken had a strange texture and not very flavorful, the fires were ok but the red cabbage was the star of the meal. The waitress who was also the owner had the personality of a piece of wood. She said she was short handed and that two of her waitresses called and quit. That I itself speaks volumes to me. The décor is cute and it’s it’s clean, food was served quickly and bathroom was fairly clean. I have to add I am gluten free and the waitress was not very helpful with suggesting items from the menu.

I dont know what the other reviewers are talking about. I took my family here and I was so disappointed. The red borst was served in a small tea cup. The beef goulash and potato pancakes were the worst I ever had, really. Six chunks of beef and a tiny amount of gravy. My wife and kids plates were equally horrible. Stay away!

I popped in for breakfast at about 10AM on a Saturday morning recently. The first warning sign was that the place was absolutely empty. I sat at the counter — the waitresses were very nice and the coffee was decent. I ordered quite the exotic meal — two fried eggs over medium, wheat toast, and french fries over home fries. 1) the eggs were cooked hard and had a weird burn-type of film on them. Yet they weren’t hot. 2) the toast was cold and stale — how is it possible for toast to get cold and stale 10 minutes after you order it? 3) the fries — little shoestring buggers — had clearly been frozen and were only half cooked. They were utterly tasteless. They literally cannot cook a simple breakfast. What a joke this place is. Three stars for the waitresses and coffee; 0 stars for the food.

Christina’s used to be my favorite Polish restaurant in the area but the last few times I went there, it seems like the food is getting worse by each visit. I ordered breaded veal and fried potato dumplings(kopytka). The veal was very greasy and had so many veins, it was difficult to cut. The dumplings tasted like they had been fried in an old oil(I’ve always ordered them boiled, not fried and they were ok) and the red cabbage I had as a side tasted like it came out of a can. The restaurant was pretty much empty with two servers, yet out seat had food on it upon arrival. I’ve also noticed many Polish dishes gone from the menu.

I used to visit Krolewskie Jadlo exclusively(newbie status) but this spot is now on the list for breakfast and lunch(I’ll leave KJ to cover Polska-dinner). I met a friend here for a Saturday breakfast and ordered Christina’s Omelette. So many places that advertise avocado in their meals usually give a teaser of a portion but this omelette was loaded up nicely and the waitresses were very attentive. Will definitely return :-)

Had the French Toast on Brioche. Really tasty. Sausage was also good. Very good coffee, and I loved that they had a restroom for customers in such a tiny place, thank you, that means a lot in New York. Very affordable too.

My review is not of their greasy food. It is regarding the blackboard sign outside their café. My mom walked by it and cut her arm open on the knife sharp edge of that sign. She bled and bruised! We walked in and told them what happebed. Two ladies working there looked sleepy or high or just dumb. We got no apology and there was nothing done about the sharp blackboard.
