Lovely thin crust pizza, really good /simple design that makes you want to tarry for a while(and the waiters don’t get pushy about turning your table over). We came in the 5:30pm area on a saturday and it was not very busy at all, which our waiter attributed to a lull between the older afternoon crowd and younger dinner crowd. When we were leaving(a hour and a half later) a large party/group was settling in. Tip — ask for the spicy honey and they bring the entire bottle to your table! It definitely kicked our pizza up a notch. Each pie is 11″, which is more than enough for one person.

Cool place, simple but welcoming and hip. Excellent pizza, we tried Margherita Doc and it was really delicious. I am a big fan of margherita with buffalo mozzarella and I am quite demanding, and this one was definitely a pass. I would go back to this place.

Food is great, but the service is so awful, it makes me want to stay away. The waiters come up to you and barely say a word. It’s as if they hate their job or they hate you. It’s hard to distinguish from the two. I went back yesterday with my family and 4, and the service was so bad, I was forced to do something I never do… I tipped 10%. They barely even deserved that. Wake up you hipster waiters. You aren’t cool by being a rude d&$k to customers.

We came in here on New Year Eve night. The restaurant is a very cute spot. We didn’t have reservations so we were happy we only had to wait about 15 minutes. We started off with the Arugula salad with another mixed green, pears, Gorgonzola with a balsamic vinaigrette. It was a very good salad, except the Gorgonzola was cubed and we both agreed the size was just a bit too big flavor wise. Next we had the asperigi di proccutio pizza. It had asparagus(obviously), cherry tomatoes, proccutio, carmelized onions, and a good blend of different cheeses. The crust was great, the pizza was good. It just lacked in a bit of salt. Other than that, we thought it was great. We split the tiramisu for dessert. We thought it was just ok. We thought the tiramisu would of benifited with a little more sweetness. Pizza, salad, dessert, and a coke came out to be little under $ 40. Not too bad for eating in the city. We would come back and try a different pizza for sure.

I was disappointed by my delivery. I’ve walked past this place a hundred time but never had the chance to stop in, so I figured I would order a pie for delivery to cut the suspense. The delivery was on time & the delivery guy was super nice, but the pizza just wasn’t great. I ordered a 12″ ‘2nd generation’ pie, the one with anchovies, mozzarella & oregano. There was hardly any sauce on it(& it was dried/caking) & the crust was soggy, especially in the middle. Maybe the chef was just tired(it was 10pm). I’ll try it out again sometime — but I’ll eat at the restaurant to see if there’s a difference.

My partner mistakenly ordered a marina pizza. Terrible. Soggy crust. Sauce was ketchupy and topping barely perceptible. Not recommended. To be fair they offered to replace it. Once burned twice shy. After everyone had a slice no one wanted to have another…

This was the first location of a pizza crawl I had participated in over the summer. It’s actually probably like the 4th annual pizza crawl this guy does every year with a bunch of my friends. We initially had not picked Fornino as our starting location but instead were set to go to Paulie Gee’s. Little did we know(I should have been on top of this and Unilocaled it) but they didn’t open till 4pm so we decided to walk on over to this place. No regrets. Actually, this was my favorite of the three spots they choose on the crawl this year. For pizzas we split the Bianca: Mozzarella, Ricotta, Wild Arugula, Red Onion, Olive Oil, and Parmigiano. This was my favorite of the two because it just melted apart in your mouth, the crust was at the perfect consistency, not too much salad on top to distract from the pillows of delicate ricotta cheese. It was SUPERCHEESY and I was happy about that. Some guys like to skimp on the cheese and this was perfection. The second pizza we had was the Margherita Doc: Tomato, Buffalo Mozzarella, Basil, Olive Oil, and Parmigiano. While this was much more simple it again was great wood oven style pizza. My only complaints, is that eating with non pork eaters most of the slices we had were just cheesy and still over $ 20 pizza pies. A bit on the pricy side as are their cocktails and beer. But it was again my favorite of our pizza crawl this day. Also, they have a nice outdoor area with picnic tables. I did have another small complaint though actually, I had asked for a Moretti beer when we were first settling down. The waitress heard me but forgot to bring my drink and remembered everyone else’s. I didn’t speak up and say anything after the fact because there was a large crowd and figured I was saving myself $ 5 but it was a slight annoying quirk to the dining experience.

Consistently good stuff. This is «artisan» pizza so if you are looking for your standard fuggedaboudit pizza, take it down the block. However, if you want pizza that tastes like a gourmet experience, this will do the trick. Big fan of any of the pizza options that include Prosciutto. Really you can’t go wrong. Also — the physical space is charming. Go! Manga!

The location itself is awesome. I love both indoors and the outdoor garden. The pizza was phenomenal! I can’t wait to come back for more. The ingredients are great. The service was eh. The hostess/bartender and waitress were not very nice from the moment my friends and I walked in. They made me feel uncomfortable. The food made up for it, though.

After trying to get a table at Paulie Gee’s and not wanting to wait two hours, we headed down to Fornino late on a Friday night. There was a large group waiting in the front part of the restaurant, so it seemed really crowded, but they had an open table inside that they were able to seat up at right away. We each ordered a beer and then poured over the large selection of pies. We started with a wild arugula and pear salad. The salad came out pretty quickly, and all of the ingredients were fresh and complemented each other nicely. For our pizza, we choose the Stagione, which comes with tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto, Kalmata olives, mushrooms, and eggplant. I really, really liked this pizza. There was a very generous portion of prosciutto on top that was unsliced, so each and every single bite had a ton of prosciutto on it! We recently tried Paulie Gee’s, and they both have great pizza, but I’d take getting to sit down right away over a super hyped about spot. Also, Fornino’s pizza was larger and way more filling than Paulie Gee’s, which makes it more affordable and a winner in my book!

The lady and I headed over to Fornino(for the second time) in an attempt to redeem our Groupon, and arrived around 10:45PM(on Friday). Given that their website and door state they’re open until midnight on Fridays, we figured we arrived with plenty of time to have dinner and enjoy a few beverages. The first time we attempted to stop by, we arrived around 11:30 and were told that they were closed. Upon entering, we were greeted with that look that instantly says, «Don’t you know we’re about to close? You really want a table now?» After that look, the host hesitantly grabbed a couple of menus and sat us in the back, letting us know that the kitchen was closing soon so we had to make up our minds fast. Our server came by in a few moments to bring us water, and reiterated, «kitchen closes in 4 mins». Ok, so we order quickly, and about 10 or so minutes later out come our fresh pizzas. Other than the hesitant welcome, everything so far so good. After we take our first bites, almost on cue, the music turns off in the restaurant and the full staff goes into clean up mode. The other two couples that were there before us finished up shortly thereafter, and we were serenaded with the sound of banging pots, pans, and dishes with the occasional burst of water, for the remainder of our meal. I could feel the eyes on us as well, waiting for us to finish so people could go home, and it was still well before 11:30PM. Needless to say, this was the main drag on our experience here. Everyone understands that people want to go home at the end of the day, but if you’re going to go into full scale clean-up mode right after serving us, you might as well have said that you weren’t seating anyone else. No issues with Groupon redemption. The food was probably 3.5−4 stars on its own, but it was a 1 star dining experience.

I’ve eaten here a couple times now. The first time 3 years ago, and I found it really salty. With some time that’s now passed, I decided to re-visit and give it another shot, and I’m still unimpressed. Now I feel like it’s a mix of salty and bland. It’s possible. I think the saltiness is from the sauce or over seasoning. And the dough is boring and tasteless. In total, I’ve had 4 pizzas from this place, and unfortunately they all remind me of why I use to not like pizza. And there are plenty of other pizza options nearby… Will probably never be back to Fornino. Only redeeming factors are that the service is sweet and the back patio is cute. Just wish they had better pizza!

This place rocks. Plain and simple. Everything is delicious, from the pizzas to the antipasti. It’s annoying to see this compared to and downgraded from Paulie Gees. They are different establishments, and both are exceptional in their own way. Ya know what Paulie Gee’s has that Fornino doesn’t have? A friggin two hour wait. Go here and try everything – you won’t regret it.

Great for lunch or dinner, Fornino has a menu with over 15 different pies, most available in both small and large(the small is about 4 big slices, good for one person and the large is 8 slices, great for sharing). I’ve ordered delivery before, but just had the chance to dine in for dinner this evening. Rus got the sangria, and I got a glass of Prosecco. Their wine list isn’t extensive, but they’ve got more than a few affordable options. The Margherita Pizza is simple yet delicious. Crust isn’t too oily or powdery, but just right. I also love their small side dishes(one for $ 5, 3 for $ 12), and can’t order from here without getting the beets with ricotta salata. We also tried their meatballs this evening. They were pretty good, big, but a little bit cold in the middle, womp womp. Maybe stick to the pizzas and awesome salads and side dishes! Fornino is a little bit on the pricier side(small pizzas are $ 10+, large pizzas are 18+), but will certainly please your taste buds.

Honestly love the ambiance and atmosphere to this place. There’s just something about the décor and lighting that makes it very inviting and relaxing to bring a date or a group of friends. Much better dine in experience than the Bedford location IMHO, but the food is just as awesome. Pretty much every pizza I’ve had here has been excellent but my favorites are the asparagi e prosciuto and the spinacio e sopressata. The sangrias here are also outstanding. Pretty good value and sized pitchers. The GF loves the mixed baby lettuce salad and the Anna Rose’s meatballs are very good as well.

I don’t know why people rave about Paulie G’s when this place is around. This place is probably the best pizza in Greenpoint and Williamburg. The atmosphere is great. It is a little hipster, but better, because they actually care about making great pizza. I can’t even describe how good the pizza is. Usually I like the crust a bit more doughy, but I’m willing to pass on that just for this pizza. I love that you can watch them making the pizza. I love truffle on my pizza. I don’t have a favorite, I love pretty much everything I have tried. Dessert? I don’t usually do dessert in restaurants, but my friend convinced me to do it up… oh man. I should have never given in, because it was also amazing. I know there’s other places I should go to try, but I always default to here because I love it so much.

I’ve been looking for a good pizza Tartuffo in NYC for so long!!! I’ve been craving it since I moved from Paris to NYC3 years ago. I would recommend the funghi misti, it’s to die for! This is THE place if you are looking for great pizzas with truffle oil, fresh & fine products, brick oven crust, large choice… And icing on the cake, the staff is very nice and the service is great!

Had a great little date night here this past weekend. The atmosphere is great. Tons of tables throughout the restaurant and a nice warm ambiance. We opted to sit outside and the garden was beautiful. Gorgeous strung lights, tons of long wooden tables, and actually quite warm. I think they must heat it somehow. I had the Funghi Misti and I’m glad I did because the truffle oil was to die for. The whole patio smelled like it and it was an absolutely delicious pizza. My husband had the chicken sausage with broccoli rabe. Also very good but not as good as mine. I was a bit bothered that the crust was overdone(Adelina’s pizza crust tops this one, no doubt) but otherwise the pizza was delicious and a generous size. Service, however, was not very good. The host asked us upon arrival if we wanted to sit inside or outside. I said inside, but then realized they had this gorgeous patio and before we even made a step towards a table he scowled and gave us a pissed off expression for changing our minds. Second, our waitress forgot to bring us our chick pea appetizer(not worth ordering) and questioned us having actually ordered it when it didn’t come out. She ended up comping it but I’m not a fan of attitude, especially when guests dining there is what is keeping the lights on. I will certainly come back, but 3 stars is my rating for poor service.

Cat family dinner after a grueling night at the movies. We discovered this place on a Monday night hoping for some Paulie Gee’s pizza. Silly father and mother cats didn’t realize that PG is close on Mondays. A quick scramble to see whats close on Unilocal led us to Fornino. After much resistance from the kittens yelling out«Mc Donald’s!», the older cats won. Restaurant is somehow kid friendly. Not as dim. As we enter, with sleeping 2 year old kitten in my arms, we were greeted by friendly staff ready to accommodate us. We got their Prosciutto wrapped Fontina with wild arugula, toasted almonds and aged balsamic glaze. This came in a hot skillet served with focaccia. A great starter. Will totally come back even just for that. We got two pies: Large Margherita Classica and a Carciofo E Salsiccia. Their basic Margherita was good. compared to Paulie Gee’s Regina(my babe’s fave) it’s a close second. Carciofo has tomato, mozzarella, ricotta, fennel sausage, artichoke hearts and parmigiano. Goof ball loved this so much he finished the whole pie and declared Fornino is better than Paulie Gee’s. What an abomination, I say. lol I would have to make it clear since my whole review seems like I’m comparing the two restaurants a lot. I equally enjoyed their pies and would recommend a visit to both establishments.
