When I visited NYC the first time I came here and was blown away at cheap booze and a free whole pizza to boot. I thoroughly enjoyed the bar, the upstairs and low lightning making it easy to converse with my friend. I am sad I won’t be able to return here though

Not sure how to notify Unilocal about this place closing but just an fyi for anyone on this page, they closed a couple weeks ago. :(RIP Lulus, you’ll be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

As far as free pizza with a beer goes, this is the place to be. Good beer selection and some nice specials. Easily beats Alligator/​crocodile lounge.
The upstairs is pretty spacious and the bar has a good vibe. Sometimes the bands tend to drown out all noise in the the bar so I’d advise skipping heavy metal show nights, unless you’re into that sort of thing. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

Warning: the bartenders here are clairvoyant geniuses that have never needed something they’re doing for the first time explained to them. Even after seeing 4 out of state IDs he was not motivated to take the 30 seconds necessary to explain the pizza-​beer-​ticket system they use. Instead, he stared at us with a smug, condescending smirk like we were idiots wasting his time. Then as we attempted to guess our way through the process he’d scoff and make little remarks as he doled out multi colored tickets that we timidly offered to the pizza guy in fear of the same treatment. If I hadn’t been hungry enough to eat human flesh I would’ve put my money back in my pocket, and flipped him off as I moonwalked out the front door.
I bartended and served off and on for 13 years. I always felt it was my responsibility to create an experience for my guests. People work hard and can spend their money anywhere. When they choose to spend it at your establishment, the very least they deserve is respect and a smile.
The pizza was good, though, and they play great music. Maybe I’m not cool enough to keep up in Greenpoint. Or maybe you need to grow up and get over yourself.

Great service, great atmosphere, great FREE personal pizza. Sit upstairs for a bit more room. During the day it’s not so crowded – around 4 or so.

They have one bartender and 8 billion customers. I waited 20 minutes for a pizza and beer. Never got served. People kept ordering stupid fancy drinks and the bartender was taking his sweet time. I finally start to drift into unconsciousness from type 1 diabetes and low blood sugar. So we left and waited for me to die waiting for dinner at a slow moving polish restaurant.

I really don’t know how someone can give this place less than 5 stars.
For $ 5, you get a miller high life, shot of whiskey or tequila, and a personal pizza. Yes you read that right, even I thought the bartender was joking at first. And for just a dollar more you can add toppings on the pizza. I really don’t know how they make money, but not my concern when that deal is on the table. At that point I’m not even concerned with the flavor, they’re basically running a soup kitchen for their patrons. nobody can beat that deal.
Bartenders here are very fast and experienced. I’ve never waited more than 2 minutes to get a drink after I ordered.
This place gets packed! Great dive spot in Greenpoint, places like this are getting extinct around this hipster Mecca we all call Brooklyn.

Considering how bars with free food heads closer and closer towards becoming an extinction species this place should be reviled.
The space is huge and some nights the upstairs can be totally empty while other nights the place is super loud and crowded.
But you can cram down a couple of pies with ease. They aren’t always readily available so be sure to keep watch.
Besides value and grub, not my favorite bar in Greenpoint, but head there if you need some mistake or make-​up calories.

OBSESSED. accidentally wandered in here looking for late night pizza at the end of the night and ended up staying to play pacman, pool and obvi get a couple of pizzas. i think this was my favorite place to go out in greenpoint as it had an old factory vibe and was the perfect mix of fun, laid back and there was so much room for activities!

$ 5 for beer, shot and pizza. Uh, doesn’t get any better than that does it? To elaborate, you get a beer (Miller High Life bottle), shot (well whiskey or tequila) and a pizza (personal pan not just a slice) for $ 5. And you can add toppings for $ 1 each, which is worth it. While the pizza isn’t fantastic, it’s big enough to get full off of. I highly recommend adding a topping or two since it highly increases the tastiness to the somewhat plain pizza. You can add pepperoni, bacon, sausage, onion, garlic, etc.
Atmosphere varies depending on the night but it’s always pretty dark in there and somewhat noisy — i mean cheap MGDs and shots, what do you expect? Last time, there were some punk bands playing, which was cool, drew a different crowd. Other nights, they have trivia and when you shout out the right answer, there are free drinks along the way — WAHOO!
Great for a starting spot to get the night going in a hurry. Yeah it’s dingy and gets crowded, but with good reason. Bartenders have all been really great: not super super friendly, but they get you what you want in a hurry. And that’s all you can ask for.

I like this place for several reasons…
1. The staff is always cool. Laid back and generally playing good music (grunge, punk, or classic rock).
2. reasonably priced drinks.
3. I have tempered expectations for a free pizza, but they are always met at Lulus. Its more than not bad, the free pies are pretty good.
Its a little weird to decide on a topping at the bar, and I could see that being confusing for a new patron, but whatever, I like going there its affordable and its mellow.

Les boissons sont bien exécutées et on file s’installer en mezzanine avec vue plongeante sur le reste du bar. C’est le pied.

Went there on a friday night. I noticed this is the bar that gets crowded while other bars within 5 miles radius are empty. Don’t ask me how but I guess it tells a lot about what the bar has to offer.
Live band, good cheap beer and cocktail selection, and the best of all, FREE pizza! Can’t go wrong with free food.

(Preface: Doesn’t exist anymore, gone after the whole landlord anti-​gay/​bigotry fiasco in all the newspapers, but it was great while it lasted.)
Who doesn’t like Lulu’s? Let’s all drink beer and eat pizza and get fat together. Let’s hang out a long time, long enough to play pool or go outside to have a cigarette and talk to strangers and make out with them on the street before we go back inside and make out some more. Let’s go to Lulu’s and stay there until they close every night.

I would come here regularly if I lived closer, and it’s one of the things that makes me visit Greenpoint. Free pizza, good beer selection, comfy chairs, lots of space, great atmosphere. Very laid back — definitely not a place to go if you want to dance and dress up etc.

So, this place is pretty rad. Divey as hell, but probably more rad because of it.
Good selection of (cheap) beer, both draught and bottled (including Magner’s cider too!), pretty decent-​looking cocktails, though they’re a pretty penny, and as everyone has already said, free pizza with every order. The pizza will not move mountains, but hey, it’s free, and free is my favorite number.
The beer shot pizza deal is specifically Miller high life and a shot of whiskey, so be warned in case you don’t like those things.
Oh, and because no one seems to have mentioned it, there’s a $ 10 card minimum. Buy in rounds, and enjoy your pizza.

A pretty great neighborhood bar. Sure free pizza (or cheap pizza with toppings) but not-​so-​bad-​yourself prices on various brews and liquors as well, but it’s a little nicer than a dive and has a few different areas for you to hang out in. There’s an upper area that looks out over the bar and is a little more secluded. A pool table tucked in the back and some seats by the bar make this a place I routinely visit when in the area.
$ 5 gets you a Yuengling and a pizza, there could be worse places to have as your ‘let’s grab a pint’ kind of place.

It says on the chaulk boards that the beer lines were cleaned like a month ago. Never saw that before… little bit of a yellow flag… and the beer ended up tasting a little off. Me thinks thee protests too much.
This place is fun though. And a very good deal. Love the free pizza with a drink!

This is our go-​to bar in the neighborhood for a cheap draft beer and some good free pizza. It’s very laid back and a little dive-​y — in a good way.
But let me tell ya, the other day I went out on a limb and tried their apricot spritzer, and boy, was it gross. It tasted like something a 50-​year old lady made from a Redbook recipe in 1967.
So…just skip the cocktails and stick with a beer or traditional mixed drinks — and of course, don’t forget to get your ticket for a free pizza!

Pizza and beer were made for each other. Kind of like less classy cheese and wine. Lulu’s really banks on that pairing. They not only serve pizza and beer. Many places do. But with the purchase of a full-​priced drink after 6 pm, you get a free pizza. Yes, a FREE pizza. It comes with sauce and mozzarella, but additional toppings will cost you $ 1 each, with a few $ 2 exceptions.
Basically, when you buy a drink, the bartender will give you a little ticket which you cash in with the guy making the pizzas. You should definitely tip your bartender (duh!) and also the pizza-​maker. They work hard for the money. The pizza zone is at the far left end of the bar, and when your pizza is up the guy rings a bell and you go and pick up your free pizza!
I got three toppings on mine (that’s $ 3 extra plus another $ 1 for tip): ricotta cheese, spinach, and mushrooms. This wasn’t the best pizza in the world, it wasn’t wood-​fired, and it hasn’t won any awards, but it was pretty damn good for something that’s free (plus toppings)! The pizza is about 12 inches in diameter, not too shabby for being free! The crust was very thin and fairly limp in the center, but overall had a great exterior crunch and chewy texture when you bite into the not-​center parts. The sauce and cheese were very light (those are the freebies), but adding extra toppings really does help liven it up a bit. I’m sure my spinach was once frozen, and the mushrooms were born from a can, but for $ 3 (plus tip) I got a whole pizza to myself with several toppings. No sharing. All mine. Perfect with my beer.
If you weigh this pizza next to a slightly thicker, large slice of pizza you can buy at any number of NY pizzerias, it might not weigh a whole lot more considering the crust is thinner, but I think it’s a really great deal overall (and very filling)! A plain (cheese only) slice usually costs about $ 2.25 at most places I’ve seen. For another dollar I got 3 toppings on mine! And if you’re buying a beer already (as many people do in life), wouldn’t you want a free pizza with it? Shouldn’t all bars offer free pizzas with the purchase of a drink? Wouldn’t the world be a better place if they did? Less bar fights? More happy people eating free pizza and drinking beer? You just never know :)
