The pizza is delicious… From when they first open in the 80s to now the food is as delicious and hasn’t changed a bit. Great pizza in greenpoint.

This pizza is good but it’s not gonna explode your mind and make you reevaluate what pizza can be. There are at least three pizza places within four blocks of this place that will blow your mind apart. But not all pizza needs to do that. Sometimes it just needs to be pizza. This is pizza and it does a fine job of being pizza. No more, no less.

The Pizza is perfect Proper proportions for a standard thin slice pizza this goes. The crust is nice and cooked to a perfect texture, It creates a perfect foundation for the sauce and cheese. The slices do not slump down when held up, the pizza is never drips with grease and the cooks will make a pie or some slices however requested. The sauce is right consistency and has a delicious yet subtle flavor just perfect for the crust and cheese. The cheese is the proper amount not exploding off the pie and not so sparse it is not there. All these factors serve to make this pizza the best standard pies in all of Brooklyn. If you are looking for the best non artisanal pizza this is the place. For Specialty Pies: Right up the street is my personal favorite specialty pizza Adelina’s roman style fried crust, sometimes there is just a craving only this flavor will fill. Down the street is some good stove pizza with quite a selection of local and delicious toppings at Paulie Gee’s. For the best extremely inexpensive standard pizza L.A. Pizza and Convenience hits the spot. They even have a nice place to sit down in the back which makes this place a hidden gem.

One of Greenpoint’s best secrets for pizza, because this used to be a restaurant years ago and their pizza was exactly the same, delicious. If you buy a whole fresh pie, it’s absolutely to die for, and I swear I think I only paid like, well, let’s not talk prices. Way better pizza than Russ Pizza down the street, or Carmine’s Pizza on Norman Ave., or Triangolo up the street, and still the best price! The convenience store has great service and everyone is very friendly. To me, finding the pizza here is a little like finding the Burger Joint at Le Parker Meridien, except here you don’t get ripped off. I may swear off pizza for two years straight at times, but I know where to go back.

Surprisingly decent pizza and a pretty good selection of cigars. They could do with improving the humidor as the cigars are sometimes a bit dry and/or off tasting.

My roommate bought home amazing penne alla vodka with chicken one evening, and when she told me she got it from the convenience store down the street, I was pretty shocked. I’ve had it a few times more since then, and that particular dish never disappoints! I’ve tried some other pasta dishes and haven’t been as thrilled, but everything there is pretty okay. The prices are perfect too! Oh, and definitely get it to go. Not quite a place you want to sit down & have dinner in.

We use to eat at LAs every Friday evening. Than the place closed. Finally reopened with some of the original staff. The convenience store takes away from the place with only a small place in the back for dining. However, they have the best Fra Diablo sauce. Glad they are back. I will make a weekly visit for the seafood fra Diablo.

4&5 stars? really? I work in the area and been there twice. Both times the pizza was stale even at lunch time. The second time there was a hair in my cup. The place is dirty, the pizza is tasteless. These guys should stick to adult magazines & cheap cigars. While fishing for my wallet I had to balance 2 slices & a drink to the candy counter to pay. how about a tray guys. Sorry, two tries is enough for me…

Very classy. The pizza is cheap and it really hits the spot when I’m hung-over or I if I don’t have enough time or money to eat real food. And they carry Zagnut bars, which is a big plus in my book. They have a good selection of snacks and drink that are reasonably priced. The guys are nice, and unlike most bodegas in the area I don’t feel like they’re trying to rip me off, which goes a long way, as far as I’m concerned. If you like cigars or low grade adult magazines, they have a lot of those too. It’s not really my thing, but this could be a plus or a minus for some people, depending on their life-style.

The old LA Restaurant lives! The former employees are now running the show and while it’s scaled down to a counter and a small back room, the food and pizza is as good as ever. Don’t let the generic deli exterior fool you — L.A. still has the best pizza in Greenpoint and great subs, as well.

Great place for italian in greenpoint. Excellent food, cheap prices and quick service. Their sauce is amazing as is there pizza. Chicken rolls are great and their zita w/meat sauce is awesome. The Lasagna is also delicious. Besides the food they have tons of snacks and beverages and all the other stuff you would find at a convenience spot. They also have seating in the back if you want to eat there. Don’t let the name fool you the pizza is nothing like pizza in LA. The cooks have been there for years and make great food. Much better than other spots on manhattan ave. and they deliver as well… You can check their menu here:
