So, I still find the coffee fantastic. However, the food is a disappointment — I would not treat this as a place on your list to get food. They cycle through various options — wraps, sandwiches, quiches, etc. — never on the menu for very long — and nothing seems to be prepared well. Primarily the issue is one of heat. The pressed sandwiches are never hot, the cheese never melted; the wraps contain semi-uncooked eggs; etc. It’s apparently not equipped to prepare food, and I think maybe they need to own that and just be a coffee place.

I ordered a large iced latte(to meet the $ 5 card minimum) and it seemed much too rich — and it just tasted off. I’ve had other drinks there too, and nothing really was much better. With average ambiance and pricy drinks, I’m not sure I have a reason to come back. The staff has been generally friendly, though.

Coffee11238 says it all. Yet another Clinton Hill coffee stop. Seems frequented by a good amount of people each morning(at least 3 other people needing caffeine stopped by while I was there). If you order coffee and coffee alone, it’ll be 30 seconds quick. If you order a grilled cheese, which by the way was rubbery and surprisingly plain-tasting – what did I expect from a pre-made sandwich – it might take you a whopping 10 minutes. If you order cream cheese with your bagels(like a frank, older gentleman did), or anything else slightly indulgent, there’s a very good chance that you’ll be told politely«We don’t have that.» Two pairs of eyebrows went up, promptly followed by «forget about the bagels then.» They do have a selection of doughnuts from Dough. But they didn’t look too fresh from where I stood.

When this place first opened I was excited. But their prices are out of control for non-exceptional products. Their coffee is good but not life changing. Then today, while working from home, wanted a quick and easy lunch. Their sandwiches sounded good by description(fresh ham and swiss on peasant bread) and the bread certainly looked nice(peasant, sourdough, blah, blah). They toasted it in the sandwich press and I took it home. When I got home I realized it was barely toasted, and that it was the most generic grocery store ingredients and the driest(no condiments) saddest sandwich for $ 8.95 I had ever seen. These guys need to make a decision — if you’re going to be all«artisanal» and charge associated prices — you need to step up your game. OR keep it simple, use basic ingredients and lower your prices. But you can’t have it both ways…

Really good coffee, especially the cold brew, also a fan of the bagels. Small, but pretty relaxed atmosphere whenever I go in. My go to when I’m getting breakfast on the weekends.

Sipping a nicely made cortado from Coffee 11238, situated on Fulton near St James, just where the street becomes sort of bearable. Very smily handsome counter dude but a little too close inside, so I’ve elected to perch on the bench out front. Wide selection of savory and sweet things. The presentation of this caffeinated pick-me-up — a little bistro glass on a retro orange porcelain saucer WITH an actual metal spoon — makes it taste all the better. Until next time, Café 11237!

This place is so douchey!!! It’s officially on my boycott list. On my last visit I had an over-priced room temperature latte. On today’s visit I had the pleasure of being laughed at when I asked the guy working the counter if he had given me the correct change. I owed $ 3.25 I paid $ 5.00 He gave me $ 1.25 in change. I told him I had given him $ 5. He counts out the change for me like I’m too stupid to figure it out: «$ 3.25 + 0.25 cents is $ 4 plus $ 1 is five» No it’s not. He explains: «these are DOUGH doughnuts!» And he and the other employee laugh while I leave with my over-priced doughnut, my short-change, and the stench of douchbaggery clinging to my clothes. If you’re looking for good coffee in the area — go to Lunitas.

I just discovered this place, since my brother suggested this place as a place to meet with a craigslist seller(that’s another story). Anyway, that guy was late(or more like, I was very early), so I decided to actually buy something here while waiting. I came an hour before the closing time listed on Unilocal, but I think that that time is wrong. It seemed to be shutting down at around 6PM, but the service was gracious and super welcoming. They have dough donuts, as well as croissants and other baked goods. I decided to buy one — and since they were closing down for the night and were going to throw everything else away, they offered me another free pastry. Much love for the service! They have a $ 5.00 credit card minimum! It’s a cute cozy space that I hope will be regularly visiting.

Live right across the street and every time I tried this place I’ve had a long wait and I just order iced tea. Decided to try the breakfast sandwich this morning and not only was it over priced at $ 7 but it was cold and served on a Thomas’ English Muffin. Way better priced over at Brooklyn Victory Garden for better ingredients.

These guys have awesome coffee and a knowledgeable staff. They encourage trying the coffee at different temps to get different flavors. And, with Sunergos coffee in the brewer it’s worth trying! The owner knows his stuff and they recently added more indoor seating. Great place to grab a coffee and some pastries. They have donuts from Dough! Awesome place to grab a quick pick me up and a tasty treat!

Great, unique, single origin coffee that rotates daily, friendly staff and modern, clean décor. Couldn’t be happier to have found such a great coffee shop so close. Soon-to-be regular.
