I had heard about this place when it first opened and had always wanted to try it but it is always busy when I walk by. A friend and I decided to try to walk in one night and they had a table so we decided to stay. Everything on the menu sounded great but we settled on the mussels and some sides of veggies to share. The wait staff was attentive and professional and the food didn’t take too long. The mussels were rich and delightful and not overcooked. Some of the veggies were a little oil heavy but still delicious. We didn’t have room for dessert so we skipped it but i saw an affogato at another table and it looked amazing. I highly recommend trying this place out!

With their charming Scandinavian inspired deco, decadent scents from their kitchen and being on the main street on Graham Av, Concord Hill is doing it right attracting the attention of customers young, old, and hipsters. TBH, I love this super trendy place cause it looks real happening and their staff are mad gorgeous. Had dinner with my bae early Saturday evening, no reservation, seated at the coziest corner by the window and served by the staff in a moderate amount of time. Short wait time for the food seeing as the place wasn’t packed. Plate presentation on point. Food looked so damn glorious under the setting evening sunset. My thoughts on what we ordered: Hungarian wild mushroom soup– A tiny splash of soup to compliment the generous portion of mushrooms, the only problem about this dish was that one serving wasn’t enough. Every spoonful packed with flavor. They really should rename this to «Hungri-(wom)an Muchshroom Soup — Wild» but that may sound too suggestive. Pro tip: take out soup portion is def less than dine-in portion. Mushroom fregola– First time trying fregola and absolutely enjoyed it al dente. Though overall dish was a little too salty and oniony for me but that’s just a personal preference. Otherwise, the asparagus was a delightful compliment to the mushroom. Obvs ordered this because mushroom. Bit oily tho. Roasted sasso chicken– Auto correct renamed it sassy-chicken and that may be what I meant but that’s just Siri also being sassy trying to read my mind like that. The chicken comes in a generous portion, cooked to perfection and the squash-herb smash was exactly what you’d want in anything that’s squashed. Flavorful and looks real pleasing. Also bit oily too. Bet if bae and I ordered a couple of drinks with our food it’d balance out mighty fine. Overall dining experience real pleasant and food pretty decent. Date spot 101.

Fantastic spot! Stopped in for a weekend brunch with friends and we were blown away. From the food to the people, everything was fantastic — and the avocado toast is to die for.

Popped in here for a glass of wine courtesy of Brokelyn. The Riesling was really full-bodied and sweet — definitely recommend this if you are feeling a white! It’s a tiny place but it’s probably a great spot to take a date you DO actually want to be able to see because the lighting is bueno. There’s a cute outdoor seating area right in front, if the weather’s nice and you feel up for experiencing what the streets of East Williamsburg have to offer(I’m not sure what that’d be but suggestions are always encouraged).

You know when you go to a restaurant, sit down, finish eating, and suddenly realize you’ve found your new favorite place in New York? Yea, that’s happened to us every single time we’ve eaten here. The space is charming, the servers attentive, and the food is just plain awesome. Make sure to get the meatballs. They are the best damn thing I’ve eaten in this city.

The food here was certainly delicious and the brunch menu is fantastic. I understand that you get what you pay for, but I have to admit, you pay a lot for whatever you get here. Having said that, I would visit again if someone else is paying.

This is the perfect neighborhood restaurant, I love it! Food is really good and interesting, atmosphere is lovely, and their wine game is on. point. The servers are super knowledgable about the wine, and happy to pour you a taste so that you can get a glass that you love. Pork belly was great, love the yucca fries, lamb meatballs were the perfect balance of hearty comfort food and not too heavy. We ate a bunch of food, and didn’t feel gross afterward. The green beans with pesto were really awesome, and the chipotle mayo adds a nice touch to the brussel sprouts. Overall, a great meal that feels kind of healthy, in a nice, cozy room with great service. Sign me up! Don’t miss the honey nut cheerios krispie treat with sea salt. It’s the perfect way to end the meal!

As a vegan I can’t recommend this place to other vegans. However they had a few vegan options. I ordered the warm salad on faro. It was mostly faro there were lots of carrots a few leaves of spinach and not much else. Very bland flavor, I added hot sauce to make a it more interesting, but it wasn’t successful. I think they were understaffed this day. Services from the kitchen were slow. Ordered brunch and waited 15+ mins for coffee with no food on the table yet.

So disappointing. I just left Concord Hill with my boyfriend. The food wasn’t as great as I thought it’d be. I had the soft scrambled eggs with bacon and potatoes and my boyfriend had the burger with bacon. We shared the pancake(yes, singular. There was 1 pancake) but it was DELICIOUS! I just wish this place had better service. Two couples were seated after us and were taken care of before us. They were even read specials which my boyfriend and I weren’t told about. Again, very disappointing. I had been looking to try this place for quite some time. I wish I had a better experience. Overall, I will NOT be returning.

Everything at our table was amazing! I had a sea bass special and the broth was rich and light at the same time. The beets and buratta were extra fresh with the arugula on top. My husband couldn’t stop raving about the adobo pork belly. The yucca was delicious with a little spice in the guacamole. Our friends got the salmon and chicken mains and they loved them both. Deliciousness all around!!!

I’ve been there six times since this place opened and for the first time I’m disappointed. The food was below par(my sandwich was tasteless and on cheap, flavorless bread, our two salads were underwhelming). They put ice in beer. Their menu doesn’t evolve. In re: the food. my sandwich, the manager claimed they always use crappy bread; the waitress admitted they do change it up frequently. All I know is that it used to be delicious and on dope bread and now it tastes like something I could get at McDonald’s. One salad was overcooked veggies. The other was just boring. I generally like their sprinkling of olive oil and vinegar and that they don’t put too much, but they were extremely cheap with it this time. Maybe there’s a shortage of balsamic and salt on Graham Street? Secondly, the michelada had ice in it — really ice and beer? Let’s water down the Narragansett even more! I die for micheladas. They are a consistent favorite. I have never had one with ice. It is NOT a thing. I imagine that’s what urine tastes like, but I did finish it because I am a borderline alcoholic. The michelada part was a little gross. I suggest changing the recipe. I’m also very disappointed that they continue to buy cheap, unsustainable seafood. Please pay the few extra cents for something that isn’t overfished or unsustainable. It tastes better and more people will likely eat it. It also doesn’t jibe with your«organic/cruelty free eggs and chicken» to buy the most overfished salmon and seafood out there.(Look up Seafood Watch if you want an easy guide.) If you actually care about sustainability, add some more meatless stuff to the menu. It’s 2015. The service was still on point. After six times coming here, I think I’m through. Maybe you’re trying to cut costs, but stay down this path and you’ll just be cutting customers.

Came here mid week for a casual dinner. Very small and intimate — there’s table seating as well as some bar seating. We got the special burger dish and the chicken. Highly recommend, great value.

A little bit pricey for the area but great service and some delish stuff. Dude, those lamb meatballs with tomato and yogurt sauce are HEAVENONEARTH. All is very on point at Concord. Congrats. Will keep showing up!

I was dumb enough one time to ask, «Can I get the Steak Frites with fries?» Oy. The drinks are delicious, the servers are friendly, and the food is delish. What you should get: Pea Tendrils, Bok Choy, Double Cheeseburger, Steak Frites What you shouldn’t get: Lunch salads. It’s not worth getting one unless you’re willing to part with 22 bucks(salad plus protein)

Went to try this place for the first time as it was recommended by some friends. Here is the scoop: The Spot: I looked inside and it was packed… probably because it was 90 degrees out. The place has a nice and cozy vibe; very hipster-ish. We sat outside which was perfectly nice! The Staff: The waiters are young, friendly and very accomodating! The Food: & here is where things go meh… 1.Mint Lemonade: Delicious and refreshing 2. Multigrain toast with ricotta and home made jam. It was alright. If you are sharing, note that it is one slice of bread cut into two pieces. The jam was tasty… 3. Quinoa Bowl: Fresh, has a sesame oil and soy sauce base which gives it a unique, savory taste. Tip: add avocado. All in all it was good based on the circumstances. It was a bit oily which I normally don’t like. but it actually came in handy for the other bowl; see below. 4. Big Warm Salad: Sounds great as it has farro, broccoli, peas, and carrots. WRONG…it was dry, lacked taste and flavor and looked like left over chow mein(sans the noodles). This is where that extra oil from the quinoa bowl comes in to save the taste! I would not recommend this at all. Also: The bowls are too big for the portions… Will not be returning here… ®

There was a time, not long ago, when I dreamt of Concord Hill’s fried chicken sandwich. It was the perfect brunch sandwich – a spicy, impossibly crispy chicken thigh, a warm brioche bun, and tiny shoestring french fries made this sandwich the stuff of legend. I bragged to my friends about eating The Greatest Fried Chicken Sandwich in New York. Sadly, those days are behind us. These days the novel and excellent shoestring potatoes have been replaced by their common, standard cousins. Not bad, but no longer the special item they were. However, the most egregious offense is replacing the brioche bun with a tired sesame hamburger bun. Though the chicken remains a treasure, the sandwich itself is no longer the dish I fell in love with. What was once unique has fallen to mediocrity, a pedestrian shadow of its former self. I hope this is just a mistake with your suppliers or an issue of availability. I can appreciate and understand a «make it work» moment! If not, I’m sad to see a perfect dish lose its shine – it really was something special.

Fool me once… This is the new Sel de Mer, which seems like they just painted the walls white, moved around the chairs and kept the same menu, though they claim it’s an entirely new restaurant. Dinner here was enjoyable, despite the lackluster service and the mussels that came out with no broth. When I sent them back to ask for broth(the cornerstone of a mussels dish) I was met with a bit of an attitude, and the bowl came back with barely a few more drops. I was willing to give it another try, as the rest of our meal was fine. But when we showed up at 10:47 and were turned away for brunch that started at 11, that was the nail in the coffin. You might want to keep in mind that if your doors are open and its 10 minutes before you start serving, it’s probably a good idea to just seat the patrons. After all, you never know who you are turning away.

I have been here 4 times in about 5 weeks. Two meals I very much enjoyed, one I loved, and one I wanted to march into the kitchen and start applauding. I was actually in last tuesday, and liked it so much I came back on Thursday… that said, I ordered most of the same things and they weren’t as good, so Tuesday may be the night to go! I just thought things weren’t cooked or seasoned as well Thursday, but I digress. I have had the kale salad and carrot fritters every time… both great dishes. The later depends on how well it has been seasoned though, so you may need to ask for salt… and don’t neglect the crème frachie. Pea tendrils are very nice, and almost can’t be missed for $ 6. Pork tenderloin was awesome, even if it wasn’t cooked as rare as they said it would be. Cuban was very good, though not pressed like the waitress said it would be. Loved the sasso chicken, which was perfectly cooked, as were the shrimp, one time, not both. Yucca was nice but not a star. I’ve only had one pasta, and I am a little uncertain if that was a 7 or 8/10, but definitely in that range(I guess some bites were better than others). Toast boards seems like they are not to be missed, and the baguette on them is freakin great. Though, again, one night the asparagus were dress with some olive oil, and the other they weren’t. Drink selection is pleasing for sure, as is the service. I’ll finish this review the same way I finish each meal, with the delicious banoffe dessert, which is always outstanding.

Concord Hill is in competition for the best restaurant in East Williamsburg title with AWOL, and for me at least the champ is still AWOL. Concord Hill is a decidely more casual and hipster spot than AWOL. I was wrong about AWOL, it’s the point where hipsters become yuppies only to pretend like they are still hipsters. Concord Hill is the real deal. The food itself is all very fresco, light tasting and refreshing. The fried Yucca had a nice crispy skin but the inside was still powdery in texture. It came with a nice guac slightly seasoned with jalapenos. The fluke came with breaded skin with a ceramy texture, on top of a bed of cauliflower and cabbage with a jalapeño infused tartar sauce. It was a very dynamic tasting dish that ran the gamut from creamy, to slightly sour with a hint of spice in the after taste. Interesting! Overall I still feel that AWOL fits my flavor profile better, that is to say more rich. Concord Hill is also a little cheaper(under $ 20 per main dish) and certainly a nice restaurant. They also have a higher selection of entrée dishes than AWOL(read: not pizza or sliders) with about a half dozen choices that are rotated, as opposed to AWOL which only has 3 per night. Will return again and report back once I’ve tried another dish.
